I love that thought, and have been adjusting my pricing recently. I think the information you provide seems to resonate best with potential clients in my area as well. Couple quick questions and I hope you respond, or somebody does. In your à la carte pricing do you add overtime pricing or do you have your regular pricing structured in a way where there's really no overtime?
Question two, you link to an older video about where to share your pricing; do you find that that is still working for you a year later?
Great video and greatly appreciated the inside you shared.

I do a combination of packages and a la carte. My three packages are the three most popular configurations that go out. If those three are not a fit, they select the base package and then add only what they need. I like this because if they see a package that fits, they're done right there. This works 95% of the time. If not, then they can investigate a la carte options. As of December I have started listing prices on my site. It removes some friction and puts is all out there.

Totally agree… Don’t charge too little for gigs especially weddings.. I rather be turned down for being too expensive than working for cheap…Thanks for the package/ a la crate pricing tips.. Totally agree … and great advice.!!!!! But never go to cheap even on a la cadre pricing.. charge high and get the gigs that pay and pass on gigs that don’t pay👍🏾

Totally agree. The last thing the industry nor the client needs is another dj who quotes so low due to FOMO and come the night of the gig is complaining that they should of asked for more.

Spot on again Jason. Simply stated, they don't have a proper business model which allows for all the elements of operating a successful operation.

Good tips! I have 3 packages and they are priced as if the customer did it Ala cart. It's not discounted but it does make the decision process easier for the client. I find most ppl are indecisive and want less options to choose from. They want me to tell them what I think they'll need.
However, I've been considering switching to Ala cart so I can automate the booking process more in DJ event planner. That may be worth switching.

I’ve been doing One, all-in-one, package since I’m still sidehustling my DJ business. This way I’ll always get the most money for my booked weekends and never have to worry about a reception only paying too low where I could’ve booked that weekend with a full service.
Great content ma dude! Numbers are going up and up!

Great video -- I used to offer all-in-one then tiered package pricing but recently moved to a la carte services and I wouldn't ever go back. More flexibility, better returns and like you said it opens up to offering new types of services I hadn't considered before. Thanks jason

Going to start using that first tip 👏
Giving things away for free in order to land a gig is a huge no no for me, I’ll throw in some extra up lights depending on the situation but never give up a single thing if you are trying to land an event 💪
As for packaging…it works for a lot of us who aren’t trying to become a production/rental DJ company. For DJs who focus mainly on DJing, not photo-booths, CO2, cold sparks, LOVE letters, karaoke, videography, photography, etc. it works flawlessly. PLUS the best way to get directly around the confines of “packages” is to tell the client we offer “custom packages” boom 💥

Good info. I've been tempted on many occasions to take the easy packaging route...But I agree that it probably cheapens your brand. I'm not trying to be that guy.

So I am creating my new web page. Now I want to add my pricing to have only qualified clients.
Can I check out your pricing online to get an ideal of Ala cart pricing.

Amazing perspective as always Jason. When pricing, we have to think beyond just the hours going into the performance. Like you said, there's insurance, marketing, operations, etc that we need to take into account. Appreciate ya being an advocate for our community to raise the level of excellence!

Just about every car company on the planet offers packages and have for decades. Why? Because that's how you get more money. It also allows you to forecast revenue. Forecasting revenue is critical to running a business. If u have three packages, and I know from past history that 90% of couples pick the mid package and 5% pick the base and 5% pick the top, I can very accurately predict my revenue for the year. Running a la cart means I have no clue what each couple us going to pick. The other issue is when you give clients too much choice they can get overwhelmed and make decisions that they may be sorry for after.

I was exp crying to hear some crazy ideas that I’d say, oh wouldn’t work on my market but all these make sense.
I personally think that packaging multiple services is a big mistake. In fact: I would use a different trade name. Could be like ABC dj and XYX photo booth. I think you should have a different contact person who’s job is to manage that second service. Treat it as a stand alone. If you’re going to offer perks, they should be stuff that don’t cost you nothing or very little. I offer dj and my wife offers decor. 2 entities on their own yet we book many people for both. It’s so important that clients see that both together or on their own will result in equally as good of a service.
I’ve seen too many DJs add services as list leaders only to have their great dj service dragged down because their value added service was lacking.

  • @ToussaintProductions

Are you saying 30% or more of the contracted rate from your DJs should be set aside? Or is it in general off of every wedding/event you do as an entire company including your own income from events?

I have one question how did you come up with the name SCE??

  • @dj2gotv
    @dj2gotv 2 роки тому

I Agree packs are no good! For example: You can't charge the same amount for a weeding on a Wednesday on January for 50 people in a cheep restaurante and a wedding on a Saturday in the summer for 200 people in a luxury place. You may risk to lose both wedding because your price is either to high or to low.
