Abroad in Japan shows the prison he was living in. With your story telling and seeing the actual prison, makes it even more amazing how a normal man with hidden talents survive the cruel life.
this man has my outmost respect for protecting his own safety while still wanting to atone for his crimes most people would give up and end up dead soon after everyone has to be treated as an individual and not be just "another one of those people"
Yoshie Shiratori wasnt necessarily a bad person. He was more broken than evil to be honest. Lost his father, never knew his mother, forced to hard labour at a young age, poverty stricken for most of his life. All he wanted was someone to treat him with kindness. He knew what he did was breaking the law but just wanted to send a message to the judicial system that the guards mistreating him was wrong. Honestly its like the backstory of an anime villain
I can also dislocate my joints at will, but it just put me in a wheelchair and a neckbrace instead of giving me superpowers. This guy's insanely skilled.
@RachelMartin-di8fy You are correct! It also impacts the eyes, heart, gi-tract, skin, bladder, reproductive organs, blood vessels, and teeth. Some patients are able to live a life that's very, very close to normal, others are profoundly disabled to the point where they rely on an electric wheelchair and TPN feeds to stay alive and still others will die before the age of 40 because of aneurysms, organ rupture or aortic root disection. EDS is very diverse. The man in this video very likely had EDS as well!
What an inspiring story to not giving up no matter what the odds are! You are so skilled at story telling too! Captivating…you captured my ears! Lol! They don’t want to escape! I wonder if he ever got to see his family again? Thanks for this video and many others!😃
Poor you ! Your inability to successfully dislocate your joints and follow him will mean one sure thing : the guards will make you pay for his sins and you may probably have to serve his sentence too 😁
According to Kento Bento, Kobayashi betrayed Shiratori by turning him in when Shiratori in fact wanted Kobayashi to vouch for him about Japan's cruel prison system. This made Shiratori vow to never trust a law official again. Also, the policeman offered Shiratori the cigarette simply out of kindness and it was this act that moved Shiratori

The whole story of Shiratori, from his multiple escapes to his ability to dislocate his joints sounded weirdly familiar to me, but it wasn't until the mention of Abashiri Prison that it clicked for me - I had no idea Shiraishi "The Escape King" from Golden Kamuy was based on a real person! The character Shiraishi has the same MO of being insanely good and clever at escaping, including using dislocating joints and lockpicking, and he also did time in Abashiri Prison in the show. Some cursory googling confirmed the writer indeed based his character on Shiratori. Great video, and it was really cool to learn that this character was based on an an actual historical escape artist!
If the last Judge was the same as the rest of the Judges, it is HIGHLY LIKELY that Yoshie Shiratori would've escaped for the 5th time. This guy is actually pretty nice from the things mentioned in this video. He delayed his escape from Abashiri Prison just for the sake of the guards who were nice to him. He went to the head guard who was nice to him and agreed to turn himself in. Most of the crimes he committed was due to having no choice. I'd say the bad things he did was before he got in his first prison. Since Aomori prison, all the bad things he did were forced.
I'm glad Shiratori-san got the happy ending he so deserved all things considered. Prisoners have rights too. That kind of treatment was uncalled for. I would LOVE to have been a fly on the wall to see the looks on the guards faces when they found him GONE. 😲
This was an amazing video, the japanese just didnt realise is that shiratori only escaped prison because of the brutal treatment but not because he wanted to
Whoever that final judge was, god bless his soul. Yeah, the guy did horrible things, but he was just escaping horrible treatment, he gave himself up multiple times, not something a horrible criminal would do.
@@BeowulfOceanFalcon Seems you havent listened, one, was self defense, the first alteration, that occured, is unknown which of the two killed the man, but, do you think, if he was murderer, he wouldnt eliminate the guards who harassed him? This video shows a valid lesson. We live in a world where we all treat each other poorly. But Yoshie Shiratori has proven you can be a criminal and still be a good person. If the people he’d dealt with had just been kinder, he never would have broken out of the prison.
