I love your Cabled Long Jacket with the hood. Looks stunning. The Steven West Shawls that you have knitted are lovely. The new New Steven West Shawl looks lovely and will look great when finished. Heippa ❤😊
Big Virtual Hug to you Janna from Me and my little dog Tucker to you and your whole family! My life too has been falling in around me but nothing is worse than having sick children and I am just so glad you have such a wonderful and caring husband to help prop you up through all these difficult times. All we can do is take one thing at a time and try to keep ourselves healthy so we can handle everything that is thrown at us. Your MKAL is beautiful and supporting Stephen is something good we can do for him to help him get through this problem and you colors and granny square start are beautiful. Just keep knitting as we all need an escape from our life challenges. They say God doesn’t give us more than we can handle, but sometimes I question that as things just keep piling on, but as women I think we are strong so I just try to keep putting one foot after another and keep moving forward and I know you can do the same. I will pray for Bruno to get well and for Sophia to be better as well. All my blessings go to you and your dear husband for helping you get through these struggles. The world is getting crazier and crazier and we have to cling to the blessings we have and hope the world will change for the better as we don’t want to leave this for our children. Their life is supposed to be better than ours. My husband just passed away and after being with him since we were 13 years old it has been a very hard loss, but I can’t bring him back so I need to start living again and seeing my friends like you on You Tube help me and all I wish for you is more happiness and better health for your family as I know how hard your struggles are, but you are stronger than you think, but I know sometimes it is just really tiring being the strong one. I think it is ok to feel sorry for ourselves sometimes as life just often just throws too much at us. Hoping fir better day for us both! All my love to you, Sandy😇❤️❤️❤️
Was delighted to see your colours for the MKAL! I'm using the Bicycle Flamingo kit, also out of my comfort zone, but it is a process knit for me, so all about the colour therapy as I'm knitting it.
Oh Jana! you are a true treasure! the world would be such a better world if everyone wished to live a hobbit life!!! your cardi is a such a beautiful and big piece and your shawl is great...I know it's looking different now, but the yarn you picked is to die for xxxx
Oh my gosh, can you be any more precious? I love your knits and I’m laughing so hard at your life goals of being a hobbit/ Forrest troll lol! You inspire me every time I watch you! Thank you so much 🥰
I love your colours for the MKAL. I'm not knitting it this year, but it looks like it will be a beautiful shawl. All the controversy about the pinwheel design is very upsetting. Your hoodie cardigan is gorgeous too!
Wow the Hoodie Cardigan is gorgeous and so is the start of your KAL. I actually love the colours you chose. Enjoy the process and its good to see you are feeling much better.
I do love your mkal color picks and i saw what happened but I do people can choose what they like to change it if they like. Your wooly cardigan is amszin5g ❤❤
Your Long Road Hoodie is just stunning Jana! 😍 We've had our first frost here in my part of Canada as well and are currently sitting at a temperature of -1 Celcius and we've finally had to turn our furnace on. But on the plus side, we can safely bring out ALL the wooly knits 🤗 Hope you're having a lovely weekend 💕
I loved seeing your Mkal and the progress you have made. I can't even believe what you accomplished in ONE evening. This is not a mindless knit fir me and I have been knitting for many many many years. I have to focus and concentrate. This shows us what an absolutely talented and brilliant knitter you are!! Your long cabled sweater is so beautiful, I can't even believe it! Wow! Well done! You look beautiful in it, and I think it fits you perfectly. Very flattering and absolutely yummy!
Hi Jana…I’m looking forward to seeing your Mkal. Love seeing all your shawls, they are so beautiful. There is so much to learn and though I’m pretty slow, it will be rewarding. I just love being part of the knitting and crochet world. The weekend of Rhinebeck, I’ll be going to my first workshop with my local yarn shop. It’s making a beret by Susan Crawford at haunted mansion…Fulford Manor! Just before Halloween 👻. So I will have a new beret and a new mystery shawl on the go this winter. Your cardigan is beautiful, I get it not the ease you love to wrap up in. It shows off your linen dress and looks beautiful on you! Casting on a new one would be quick for you, so go for it! It’s too gorgeous to not get the most out of it. I’ve got to pick out my mkal colours, so I’ll catch up with your design next week! I just watched clue 2…I soaked up his technique. This is going to be fun!
Good morning, lovely Jana👋A new garlic press and a pair of Blunnies 🎉..almost as good as that Nutiden mystery bag😉.Almost!🤭 Congratulations on finishing the long cardi👌.Gold star for perseverance 🌟.Now to make one each for Fifi and Frannie😉.Happy Sunday to you all❤️👋🐨🌏😘xx
Love your beautiful MKAL shawls! (I'm not sure if you saw the latest message from Stephen but he has asked us not to knit this version in respect for others.) I thought there would be a lot of knitters who would knit very fast and would have already finished the original version. Happy knitting.
I’m going to join the Mkal 2023 with Steven West. I will be starting late. This is a challenge for me. I’m excited and hope he has kits left. I’m not great at picking colors.
Angora rabbits make great pets and that beautiful fibre spins so well 🥰 The forest Troll would love them, hard to not eat them but …..the fur would be so soft and cozy in the Hobbit hole. The cables sweater is magnificent🥰🙋🏼♀️
Frost already?! WoW!!! I really enjoyed your tour of your Stephen West shawls. Your husband is such a good sport when it comes to your knitting. ❤ The cabled sweater looks comfy and warm - I love it! I agree that it would be even better with additional positive ease. I always enjoy your vlogs. ❤😍Thank you!
Thank you! 😊 Yes, it got cold for a moment. And then we had a terrible storm. Now it's warmer again. I think I need to cast on another cardigan. Or maybe finish some of my WIPs. 😄
Oh Jana your gradient shawl colors are gorgeous You are very good with color. Of course… color is what you do. Well done indeed. Thank you as always for your gift of time . I’m grateful to see and be inspired.
Hi beautiful knits! All of them! Can you please share what pattern did you knit on the back of you chair please, it is so lovely I could not take my eyes of of it looks like some knitting in the round and I need around knitting project!
Jana, I knew I would love your color choices for the MKAL!! I decided to watch Stephen’s videos and view other makes before deciding if I wanted to make it.
I woke up to your new episode, drank coffee while knitting on my MKAL. (my favourite things). I also love garter and seeing your start has reassured me of my colour choice, I have a very bright magenta as colour3 along with lavenders and a dark purple as colour 4. I thought the magenta might be too much but now I think it will look perfect. Thankyou I loved seeing your MKAL colours.
Hello, I’m a new knitting podcaster from the UK 🇬🇧. I had to subscribe when you were talking about your cardigan and said you needed more room round the hips than up top 🤣 I’m definitely the same! Bring on the positive ease,,I say! I’m also knitting the Geogradient shawl but have to start again now the new version had been released.
Your MKAL is gorgeous! I can't wait to see where it goes from here. I'm doing my first one this year and loving the Celtic knot/pinwheel design so far! 🥰
"update from the weather channel" haha oh your hoodie makes me want to knit a cardigan but i don't want to knit back and forth for something so big T_T. the cables look so beautiful though! i have never done an MKAL, all of your shawls look so pretty though! love your color choices :) your shawl from this year looks like powerpuff girls colors!
The cardigan looks beautiful on you - and love your MKAL colours. I also like this clue 1, it is so fun to knit 🎉❤ Love your little clips of film from the woods, it sure is a nice background to display knits 😁🤩🥰
Hello, I was surprised to hear, about socks with Nutiden, I just started to knit socks, so I'm new to those, but socks with Nutiden sound interesting, and I would like to see how it goes, please share the pattern you use, as reference, I know maybe it won't work for me :). The Steven chal is not for me. first I don't knit fast and I go my own pace, usually a turtle pace, and I prefer a more classic pattern, like the one you were using in this video. I saw the first clue video to see if I could be interested in doing it, but no, I will just watch and enjoy other's works. Hej då!!!!! Bye!!!! 💕💕
Loving your hoodie!!!! Your buttons are my favourite, and I always try to use them. Your shawl is going to be incredible: love it! So pleased you’re better🙏🏻
Hi Jan! Great FOs, and love the past MKAL review. Twists & Turns was my first but I still want to make Shawlography. Love your Clue 1! As soon as I saw the (original) pattern I thought--it's a quilt block! I think got it with pinwheel.--that's it! It's so fun and I love my colors this time. Exciting to see where in the world we go next. Have a great weekend~
Love your new cardigan! It's a woolly hug! Beautiful work! If you are looking for another cardigan pattern with a more loose fit, try the Badana cardigan by Rosa Pomar. The pattern is in the 2023 winter edition of Laine Magazine. Classic basic design done on 6mm needles. I'm trying to be better at using patterns from my magazine library. This one will be my birthday cast-on! Have a great weekend :) Can wait to see the evolution of your mystery Westknit shawl 🧶
Janna What’s your thoughts on the new clue one? I understand the distress over the design and will change mine somehow to takeaway the contentious symbol connotation Stephen himself doesn’t want his name on a design that can be misread like that
I ripped mine out on Friday night. This was the first time I was trying to avoid spoilers, so I wasn't aware of what was happening. It didn't feel right to carry on with the original design. I'm not too keen on the new version, so I just did my own thing. There is a sneak peek on my Instagram. 😊
Your cardigan is wonderful on you!!I'm loving the Gradient Shawl but chose to do the 2nd Clue 1 so it's a square that just keeps getting bigger. This is my 3rd year and love the shawls. My scrap afgan is done Ended up putting a scallop edging all around and love it!
I ripped out my Clue 1 on Friday night, when I found out about the controversy. I was trying to avoid spoilers, so I wasn't aware of what's going on. Now I have something completely different and I'm happy with it. 😊
I have the same projectbag, it’s so lovely 🥰 the sheep on the left is a valaisane black nose sheep, it’s a swiss sheep. You should google them, they are the cutest sheep ever 😍😍😍. Love from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Sarkanā nutiden dzija man arī dikti patika, bet tomēr neko nenopirku. Krāsu salikums Tavam lakatam ir dievīgs un sarkanais tur manuprat ļoti labi iederas.
Now that I know about it, I can see a kind of hateful cross (though the angles are way wrong)... I've only finished section 3. I'll restart it and will knit sections 1,3,5 and 7 in solid colors (one in each color of the shawl)
I’m loving your MKAL so far! The colours are fabulous. I’m enjoying the knit so far too. Much more fun than the start to last year’s (though that was gorgeous, it was NOT fun to knit clue 1)
It wasn’t just some Karen and Stephen did not want his design to reflect anything that could’ve triggered anyone or hurt them.Which shows what sort of person he is. I couldn’t see it myself but people around me did and as Stephen himself is distressed and I myself don’t want to be connected to that connotation I’m changing mine I am exploring how to disrupt the design within the shapes as I’m not keen on the plain square nothing will go to waste we are just involved in the design process than we are used to
Yes, not a 'Karen'... But people with a history of trauma and loss who did see the image related to a terror of the past. Stephen had shown great respect and has stated that he certainly doesn't want to cause anyone pain in remembering that period of time in our history.
Your husband is so good at knowing your joy, and supporting it very sweet to give you cast on time
Your cabled hooded jacket is wonderful!!! Your colors for the West MKAL are perfect! ❤
The red wool will be perfect fit with your red mushrums earrings😊

So nice to see you laughing and smiling and enjoying your knitting. Love your coat.
Love your cardigan and MKAL pinwheel so much!!!
Thank you, but there is no more pinwheel.
Your husband is so amazing! ❤ not to many men support their spouses hobby
Those men should be exchanged for a big sack of yarn. 😄
@@FinnishKnittingStories oh I 100% agree 🤣
Love your podcast Jana! Watching you makes me so happy ❤❤❤
Your mkal looks great, especially the colors. I’ve never participated in mkals but like watching from the sidelines.

Have you ever made anything with the colors from your wallpaper behind you? I admire it every time I watch. Have a wonderful week hobbit lady. xo
Not on purpose, but I do have a knit summer tee in those colours.
Haha those KATM tags are great! I have the ones that say “you can’t buy this” that one makes me laugh

Jana, what about to try to save the pink cord by steaming that with your iron? Maybe it could help
I named you the hobbit girl hahaha! Love it! ❤
How do you like the unsound socks?? I have some nut idea and I’m super curious….
Hubby has called me his “bad hobbit” ever since he read LOTR (45 years ago). He’s a foot taller than I am and loves his food too
A shorter video she said.🤣🤣
❤️ From Holland
Now that I know about it, I can see a kind of hateful cross (though the angles are way wrong)... I've only finished section 3. I'll restart it and will knit sections 1,3,5 and 7 in solid colors (one in each color of the shawl)
🔥
I’m loving your MKAL so far! The colours are fabulous. I’m enjoying the knit so far too. Much more fun than the start to last year’s (though that was gorgeous, it was NOT fun to knit clue 1)
Oooh the Nutiden is lovely! That shade of red is to die (dye) for!
❤
💜💜💜
There is never to much yarn, I think.
😄👍❤️
😂 Forrest troll 😂😂😂
Oops. I guess you did not see the new clue.
I really hope that you don't restart yours because of some Karen who sees it as something that it's's not, how ridiculous!
It wasn’t just some Karen and Stephen did not want his design to reflect anything that could’ve triggered anyone or hurt them.Which shows what sort of person he is. I couldn’t see it myself but people around me did and as Stephen himself is distressed and I myself don’t want to be connected to that connotation I’m changing mine I am exploring how to disrupt the design within the shapes as I’m not keen on the plain square nothing will go to waste we are just involved in the design process than we are used to
Janna your long road looks great on you I will have to try that bind off
I don't think that's the case. It's not just one person. I think everyone should do what feels right to them.
Yes, not a 'Karen'... But people with a history of trauma and loss who did see the image related to a terror of the past.
Stephen had shown great respect and has stated that he certainly doesn't want to cause anyone pain in remembering that period of time in our history.
@FinnishKnittingStories yep, and doing the original, not a hate symbol version, is the way I choose to go. 😘👍
Hope you heard the news? If not, stop knitting on your mystery shawl.
Boring 😢
❤
