    You're easily one of the cleanest, most deliberate, and controlled players I've ever heard. Your sound is always incredible too.

    Awesome stuff, performance and sound. A couple of questions: 1. What Evans heads are you using on the toms batter and reso)? 2. What Pearl snare is that. Thanks!

    • @louiepalmerdrums
      @louiepalmerdrums  2 роки тому

      Heads are Strata 1000 on top, clear G1 on bottom. Snare is the Pearl solid shell music city custom in cherry (14x5). Thanks!

    As always very clean and the sound of your kit is just perfect!
    This is one of the few drummers whom I need to hear when I feel uninspired and stuck in the kit. Takes me one of his videos to want to jump back into practicing.
    Hopefully i can do lessons with you in a near future 🤞🏻
    Thanks for inspiring to be better on 🥁
    So glad you changed to Meinl 👏🏻

    Hi Louie. Thanks for such great stuff. Curious as to what types of Evans heads your using in this video.

    • @louiepalmerdrums
      @louiepalmerdrums  7 місяців тому

      They’re Strata 1000 heads from Evans. It’s an orchestral head (thin) but works as a drum set head.

    Could anyone tell me what that little groove at 0:14 is. I can't figure out the right hand on the second hi hat. What time signature it might be?

    • @ediblenebulas1164
      @ediblenebulas1164 2 роки тому

      Hey man, this is very late but to me it sounds like 4/4 with the hihat playing in a sort of imposed 3/16 - every 3rd 16th note. Also there is a swung feel. Hope this helps 🙏

  • @fitnessisgood4u
    @fitnessisgood4u 2 роки тому +2

    Thanks Louie. I use this fill in a jazz setting a lot, with the foot hi hat off beats. Works a treat. Did you go to Bob for lessons by any chance? I did a good few years in Hornchurch/Dagenham.

    I’d love to know how you tune that snare as in the notes for top and bottom head. I’ll try to figure it out, but if you could help that would make my month.

    • @louiepalmerdrums
      @louiepalmerdrums  2 роки тому +5

      Nothing to it really, just bottom head nice & tight (almost table-top tight) & the top head tuned wherever you like it for pitch. It’s the same as all the other drums - bottom head always tighter than top…on the snare the bottom is quite a bit tighter bc of the type of head & the role it plays.
