Just an idea, maybe try on new primers only on one side and that way you'll know how the new foundation wears on its own and if the primer makes a difference!

@@itsjessicabraun Ok, so I have something that you might consider trying for an after shower body oil. I went to my local RiteAid and the Neutrogena Body Oil was $12.99 for 8 oz., but the Keri Body Oil was $14.99 for 16 oz. I picked up the Keri and it is really nice. It has a clean, fresh scent and my skin feels so nice even hours later. I live in Idaho where it has been cold, and this really has helped my dry skin.
I was really happy to see you review a matte complexion product. Super glowy products don't work for my skin.... so I like seeing something I might be able to use!
Oh my gosh I am so hooked on that foundation! I even apply with fingers and it looks sooooo good all day! Love the coverage and staying power, light enough to look like skin!
I am fully addicted to Grande Lash serum on your recommendation. I have been nothing short of amazed at the difference. Thank you for having the best taste in products ever! You and Taylor are always so reliable for that. ❤

@@juliewells4282 I started using it about 4 months ago and it’s made a HUGE difference in my lashes. Mine have always been very short, and always point downward and kind of straight and I’ve tried lash curlers from so many brands but they never did much. Yes, Taylor really likes that Essence foundation. She said it is a dupe for the Givenchy City Balm. I’ve been considering it, because she and I have the same skin type, preferences in finishes and even similar shade. So I can usually trust that if she likes something, I will too. Edit: Have you tried the blue Cinema Secrets brush cleaner?! That stuff is MAGIC. It’s SO easy. You just dip your brush, squeeze out the excess and dab on a towel or paper towel. It cleans SO good. No rinsing. And the brushes dry almost instantly. Like 100% dry in about 20 minutes, if that long. I never thought I’d be so passionate about a brush cleaner, but I’m a die-hard fan of that stuff. It’s so easy that I’ve actually been cleaning my eye brushes as soon as I use them, so I never have dirty brushes. (I will say that it doesn’t work well with face brushes. The way it works is it lets the capillary response in the bristles suck up enough cleaner for the brush, so face brushes suck up a lot of it. I stick to my old school cleaners for my face brushes.)
The Essence foundation honestly reminds me of Armani Luminous Silk foundation. I have only used it once, but I'm digging it so far. I am also super interested in trying Haley's Beauty after hearing you and Taylor Wynn mention that brand in several videos. You have also inspired me to try GrandeLash's lash and brow serums. Only used them a couple times so far (found a great value set from Ulta) and am super pumped about the possible results.
Do you know what I'd love? Some sort of sexy hybrid of Taylors foundation Friday and Jessica's Disney makeup vlogs, like using Disney as a test for foundations and how they hold up and stuff? Feels like bringing my two loves into one 😂
For primers: I've been trying the No7 Airbrush Away Tinted Skin Perfector that Taylor Wynn raves about and it is literal perfection! It makes my skin look so soft and beautiful that I even wear it on its own
I just bought it after watching Taylor applying it and watching her pores basically vanish. I can't wait to try it!!! So glad to hear more good reviews!
I will say it leaves the slightest tint of too dark for my ultra fair skin. But just barely. I layered by BareMinerals Complexion Rescue tint over the top and it was perfect

I have more bronzers that one ever needs. I just love bronzer. HOWEVER, I have 2 of those ULTA bronzer face trios and I have dents in both of them. I freaking love them! I know I will use them up. I won’t use up the highlighters but blush and bronzer I will. They never let me down!!! So freaking good.
With lighter coverage foundations, trying using a dry sponge and see what you think. :) People forget that you can use beauty sponges both damp, barely damp (super dried out in a towel) and just plain dry, especially with serum/thinner foundations.
Yes! I always use my sponge dry with any and all foundation/CC cream. I've have always loved how it ends up looking on my face! It's always creates a smooth, skin like finish!
You should do a battle of the primers. I recently watched your video of all the makeup you have stored. You mentioned the Peter Thomas Roth primer and hands down the best I’ve ever tried. So I’d like to see a video of all primers vs your favorite for each season

The essence pretty fresh foundation and physicians formula butter believe foundation are the only two I reach for these days. So obsessed with them both and love how long lasting they are even with wearing a mask💜
"...and a sponge is going to sheer out the coverage...just a bit." And that is why I love them. ^.^ Speaking of product combos. I know a lot of people say CeraVe's eye cream doesn't work well under makeup, but I _adore_ it under Shape Tape. The times I wear them together, it just looks like skin. If I'm concerned about stying power, No. 7 powder (the same one you love) is the perfect finish.
Bronzers with a slippy texture like that seem to work best when you tap the brush/beauty blender on the bronzer itself, dap excess on the back of your hand, and then stipple in the areas that you would bronze. 🤔 Wiping the product on the cheek from the container has never worked for me as it ALWAYS moves my foundation but, then again, my skin is dry and textured. 🤷♀️ Who knows the bronzer may not be good period. Thanks for the new makeup video; I love these so much. 🥰🙌
I’m a couple days late but I love watching your videos, they always relax me. I haven’t played or put makeup on in a long time I probably need to try again ha❤️
I struggled to get the Essence foundation to work for me. I used a dewy lotion, then the impossible primer from Wet n Wild and then the essence foundation. It wasn’t as drying and lasted a bit longer.
Hi Jess…I have to say,, watching your videos always makes me smile 🥰 You seem to have such a blast, and if we can’t laugh at ourselves, we’re just not laughing enough.
The Thrive Causemetics tubing mascara actually did smudge on me. I know everyone says it’s not possible, but it definitely did. It made me not want to trust other tubing mascaras! I’d be curious to know how you like this tubing mascara compared to the Thrive mascara!
I hated the essence foundation at first but ever since I started applying it with my fingers, I can’t put it down. It looks amazing and lasts all day with no primer!
For anyone who loves a tubing mascara but dislike a plastic bristles brush. The Merit brand mascara has natural bristles and a tubing formula. It’s a beautiful thing😍
Have you ever tried the BK Beauty 101 brush for foundation? I used to use a sponge - now I always reach for the brush first! I always love your foundation faves.
Great video! That lip color is killer on you! The music during applications was really throwing me off, the periods were too short for that type of stock music and were kind of jarring. Not sure if that’s a new editor trying something new out but it didn’t feel very seamless to me. Otherwise still a great video!
Loved the vid as always her vibe is so positive but was coming to the comments to see if anyone else noticed this or made a comment. Def agree music is unnecessary.
I wasn’t sure what you were talking about for a min so I watched it again in certain parts and I see what you’re saying. I was so caught up before just watching that I didn’t pay attention to the music. But yeah, it cuts in and out. Yes, not seamless. Anyway, I am one that didn’t enjoy that Essence foundation. Lol. I think for me it’s the shade range. I am very neutral and the first neutral shade is too light then the next one is much too dark.
OMG I absolutely love the foundation. Last all day on me. The primer I use is the, impossible from wet n wild. I set the foundation with the no7 lift and luminate triple action finishing powder. No touch up for me whatsoever throughout the day. I guess it just truly shows how not all products work for everyone.
Hey, Jessica! Love that lip color on you! And I actually like your shadow look too! As always, you have been a delight to watch! Thanks for another great video! 🤗
Yep about being careful with that sharp, metal lash comb! I had an accident with my lash comb last week, was just brushing my lashes too fast and it slipped and went on my eye ball. OUCH. It didn't bleed or anything but it hurt for TWO DAYS, felt like a large piece of sand was under my eyelid - and I went to my eye doc to make sure I didn't do any damage. I didn't. But YIKES!
I'm so curious to hear your final thoughts on the concealer! I've seen people raving about that one, so I would love to know if you think it's worth the splurge. I'm typically a drugstore girl, but willing to go high end if something is way better than what's at the drugstore. 💜🌻
I love the concealer, It’s the best I’ve ever tried! I’m 32 and I always like my under eyes better without any concealer.. found it to emphasize the fine lines I didn’t know I had haha. This one doesn’t at all😀😀
I fell in love with the new Nars soft matte primer as soon as I tried it the first time. I feel that it is extremely hydrating and long wear with foundation. I don't think it's matte completely. It's such a nice primer especially under nars complexion products 😍
Cleaning my brushes makes me feel soo accomplished too!! Lol...I use the wet nwild bronzer/ contour stick in the shade walnut, or maple I 🤔 lol!! It's only$5. Luv watching your videos so much! Tell Tyler we wanna try his sourdough bread🤗👍👍
If you love tubing mascaras you should try L.A girl’s volumatic mascara! It kinda has that same flexible wand but it stays in place all day and comes off easily with water! And it’s only like $4 or $5 bucks!
Nyx brow gel did nothing to lift/set/ hold my stubborn brows that grow downward. The Got2B glue hair gel works for me. Its a small tube and i use my brow spooly.
I've just tried the NARS protecting primer with SPF 50 in it and it was extremely matte and pore blurring but also very drying as it was quite pasty and chalky. It did blur pores so well but I preferred the Laura Mercier Pure canvas one more than NARS for primer
When I saw your eyeshadow I was in love and stopped the video to see if you mentioned what you were wearing. It was funny to find out you weren't too happy about the color 😂. Well, just so you know I thought it looked amazing.
I love the Refy brow gel. It’s a bit on the pricey side and it takes some work getting used to just because of the applicator but it’s been the only one so far that I’ve liked. You should definitely check it out Jessica and the owner Jess is such a sweetheart.
I just love that new Essence foundation 😍 for me, it's the perfect amount of coverage and it wears nicelly throughout the day. I pair it with a glowy primer. I definitely need to set it in place, like I do with most foundations. It looks amazing with the elf halo glow powder.
Good to know. I haven’t gotten it to look nice on my skin for some reason. I think it’s mostly cause I got a shade a bit off. Will try your suggestions 😊
I love that Essence foundation! Gorgeous on the skin, pretty good coverage, and good staying power. Sometimes I sheer it out a bit with a little wet n wild tinted hydrator and that gives the perfect mix of coverage and glow.
I can't wear matte color 😩. All the creases and dryness on my lips are 100×'s magnified!!! My lips are just way too dry all the time. I love mattes too so it's such a bummer. Rant over lol. You are so much fun to watch. I love how honest you are, and how much you laugh and totally tell the truth... ahhhh you are awesome. Thank you 😊💓
I generally wear exactly the same colors as you do. In essence Pretty Natural I have been wearing 060 Neutral Honey all summer and that color has been fantastic, and I think you'd like that color as well. Love your content. I have discovered so many great products thanks to you!!! Thank you Jessica!!! Love You!!!
As soon as you mentioned a comically Dewey foundation I knew it was Josie Maran’s vibrancy. Flash back to the half a year I walked around looking like my face was slathered in cake batter and thinking I was looking good... 😂😂
Gasped and immediately jumped on to QVC to order the mascara. Lol on auto delivery in case it becomes a must have. Honestly I love It Cosmetics because as a woman “of a certain age” I appreciate all the skin care in their makeup. And I do A LOT of makeup optional days so it’s easy for me to step it up with skin care and beauty. Love ya!
Great video! I watch you all the time! I know you love the dollar store. Try the LA Colors blushes & bronzers, the ones that look like Covergirl Cheekers, as eyeshadows! Perfect, cheap one and done or blended! ❤
Although I don’t usually apply makeup with my fingers, I feel that both the foundation and concealer in this video work best that way. The concealer feels really serumy and is perfect for my dehydrated under eyes, and 2 layers of the foundation is 👌🏼 Give it a try! 😍
That essence foundation is one of my favorites!! Recently I've been mixing in the newer L'oreal true match serum with that Essence foundation & OMG it's perfect (for me).
If you want an awesome pore filler you have to try Dermalogica hydrablur primer! You use a tiny bit and put it where you want to hide pores, you can see very clearly it blurs them. I found Nicole Renee recommend this and have repurchased several times.
I laughed so hard at you laughing at the sticky part 😝 I had the same experience -I received it on National Brow day or something from Ulta with a bunch of other products. I’m back into my Anastasia. I keep trying to use the NYX one, but my brows feel so gummy!
Just an idea, maybe try on new primers only on one side and that way you'll know how the new foundation wears on its own and if the primer makes a difference!
Agreed! I think she would enjoy this tip. 💕
That’s a great idea
Yep! I use “work from home” days as my makeup testing days, nobody’s going to notice a half face of primer on Zoom!

Hello Lava
Just finished my coffee! Does a video from you justify another cup1?! 😉
YES lol
The earliest I’ve ever been!! Happy Friday 🎃🧡🖤🧡✨
Have you tried the LA girl tubing mascara yet?
I think you need the essence 040 as I think we are a skin match. I didn’t like the essence on its own, but mix in 50/50 misha bb cream! It’s amazing!
Your eyes look so pretty! 💗
Andrea influences me too! I love her vibe!
The idea of actual tubes coming off IS so gross!! How funny as I was thinking that, you said the same thing. 🧡
The Lancôme concealer and the Elf wow brow will be my next purchase! 🥰❤️❤️
Hey Jess, man my skin has been the same way in my t-zone and glad to hear I'm not alone in that lol 😂😆. Thank you for video!! 🥰
I highly rate my NYX brow glue & it's doesn't take the colour off or place colour back in the tube! It's amazing and holds alllll day!
I bought the milani cream to powder foundation in a dark shade and I use it like a bronzer and I like it
I just love that new Essence foundation 😍 for me, it's the perfect amount of coverage and it wears nicelly throughout the day. I pair it with a glowy primer. I definitely need to set it in place, like I do with most foundations. It looks amazing with the elf halo glow powder.
OMG I agree. I tried that combo with the elf powder and it looks great!
@@allih8021 I do the same! Stays all day on me even with combo skin and living in Florida.
Thank you 😊💓
Taylor said she mixes the essence with the Shiseido synchro Skin Radiant Lifting foundation. It looked beautiful 😊😊
Agree about the flexible mascara brushes. Do not like. I'm old school.
Hey Jess! Have you tried the new Rare beauty mascara? There’s also a new Tower 28 tinted sunscreen that I’m very curious to try!
That Laura lip looks identical to the ELF matte lipsticks to me, at least the packaging.
Love You!!!
You are beautiful in any makeup or without!❤️❤️❤️
As soon as you mentioned a comically Dewey foundation I knew it was Josie Maran’s vibrancy. Flash back to the half a year I walked around looking like my face was slathered in cake batter and thinking I was looking good... 😂😂
I thought the Pretty Natural Foundation was higher coverage than I expected. Kinda weird since we usually have similar taste in foundations.
Try the BK beauty 101 for foundation. It’s AMAZING!!!
Love ya!
Nars has a sleeping mask (white package) which acts prefect as a primer for dry skin. Worth to try!
Great video! I watch you all the time! I know you love the dollar store. Try the LA Colors blushes & bronzers, the ones that look like Covergirl Cheekers, as eyeshadows! Perfect, cheap one and done or blended! ❤
@@dreamscape405 I have soft sable too and i use it the same!
I actually love that eye look. It looks beautiful!
Although I don’t usually apply makeup with my fingers, I feel that both the foundation and concealer in this video work best that way. The concealer feels really serumy and is perfect for my dehydrated under eyes, and 2 layers of the foundation is 👌🏼 Give it a try! 😍
Love your lashes! May have to try the new It mascara.
Literally makes my day when you post! Love you 💗🥰
That essence foundation is one of my favorites!! Recently I've been mixing in the newer L'oreal true match serum with that Essence foundation & OMG it's perfect (for me).
Me too!! Such a nice combo
