Grayson never gets the respect he deserves. He's either ignored in many Batman stories, or given a small or tragic role. Like I know we’re getting Dick Grayson/Nightwing back soon, but it deffo feels like they’ve regressed his character, and made him less important in the batfamily, despite being the first member of it (excluding Bruce and Alfred for obvious reasons). In the more recent comics and in the DCAU films, Nightwing as a hero and dick Grayson as a son definitely feel neglected. I’d go as far as to say that Bruce is written to not particularly care about dick. I know his character changed permanently after Jason’s death, but he’s kinder to Tim and Damian (and Cass and Duke and Steph) and tries harder with them than he does Dick. Yeah he’s a grown man, but Dick’s character has always been defined by his loyalty to Bruce, his love for Bruce, and his adoration of his found family...which would assume he was getting back what he puts in. He gets shit all from Bruce emotionally, even when Bruce does him wrong and tries to apologise

Having a romantic relationship between Bruce and Barbara is a bad decision for multiple reasons. First problem is due to their age difference but that isn’t the main problem for me. Second is the fact that she is Jim Gordon’s daughter and I believe Bruce would never disrespect him by dating her. Third is that Bruce is more into women who are hardcore and very mature, people who understand the hardships of life, like Catwoman and Talia al Ghul. And fourth, there’s no chemistry or attraction between the two (outside of Barbara’s crush on him, which is natural but just that). I don’t know why Bruce Tim wants this relationship between the two. I won’t judge him for it, it’s his opinion, but the story he had between them in the comics of this show was too much for me. Plus, it’s obvious that even Tim understood why a relationship wouldn’t work between them, he didn’t have to have the two date and bang. It’s just weird and doesn’t even work when thinking about it. Batman dating Wonder Woman or even Lois Lang (I’m not kidding, that seriously happened) makes more sense than this.
The WonderBat thing makes even less sense. Given that Batman Beyond is connected with JL, nothing comes of it. So why did the producers decide to go that route? Diana is not a Bat-groupie.
Yes I remember watching this way back when and wondering the same thing. I don't think I ever finished the series so I assumed I must have missed the episode where what happened to Dick Grayson was explained. Now I see the explanation is in the comics. But speaking of the end of this series. Didn't Batman Beyond end during a Justice League episode? If I remember correctly Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern traveled to a future Gotham city in this episode and it didn't work out too well for the second Batman. Anyway thanks for the vid.
I know right? Its so out of character for anyone to act like this. Feeling bad for my boi Grayson man. He became funny chararismatic guy to this. He deserve happiness.

So distracting :D for example at 3:20 it sounds like there is some sort of epic Dragonball Z staredown going on when you're telling about bruce having a celebration and dick also coming to visit?
The whole debate of whether it's an inappropriate relationship between Bruce & Barbara comes down to how big the age gap is. I usually figured Gordon for being about 20 years older than Bruce, which would make for a considerably smaller age gap between Bruce & Barbara than sometimes depicted, maybe 5-7 years (which is nothing). If it's a 25-year age gap as sometimes shown, well, then whether it's a problem depends a bit more as to whether she's 18 or 28. At 28 you're not only a legal adult, but you've mature enough to decide to enter a relationship with an older person.
WHAT I IMAGINE COULD BE ADDED IN A NEW DIFFERENT VERSION OF (BATMAN BEYOND) SHOW: First off, I imagine Richard “Dick” Greyson aka NightWing, he is a widowed man, father of two, and grandfather of five kids. I imagine before he became a widowed man, he found his destined love, married her, and had a daughter & son with her. I imagine his daughter (Marie Lee Greyson) she grew up to become a detective, and she has amazing computer skills. I imagine Dick’s son (Allen Smith Greyson) he grew up to become a Doctor, and he knows how to do martial-arts. I also imagine each of Dick Greyson’s kids, found their destined true love, got married to them, and are happily married. I imagine Dick’s daughter MARIE, had three kids, two daughters, and one son; Her first daughter is LILLY, 2nd. daughter is ELLIN, and her son’s name is DAVID. I imagine Dick’s son had two kids with his wife, a daughter, and a son; His grandson’s name is BOBBY, and his granddaughter’s name is CYNTHIA. I imagine Allen Smith Greyson’s son, BOBBY S. GREYSON, he later discovers his grandfather’s past, and he decides he wants to become the new NightWing. I imagine Allen Smith Greyson’s daughter, CYNTHIA ROSE GREYSON, she decides to learn about, all types of science. And her dream is to become the best scientist who surpasses all others, but unlike other scientists, she would live her life by a genuine moral-code. In addition I imagine this realm’s variant of Barbra Gordon, she cheated on Dick Greyson with, RedHood aka (Jason Todd). I also I imagine that she got pregnant by Jason Todd, and at one point she decided to temporarily quit, in order to raise her baby boy.
Please, DC quit having Batman and Babara be a thing and make them have a sexual encounter every time. Not only does it make him seem creepy, it makes him dick to not only Dick Grayson but also Commissioner Gordon by having him screwing his daughter and it just ruins his character and I can see now why everyone left him in the beginning of the show.
The way they handle Dick Grayson for the Beyond series is just weak, absolute weak writing and plain out lazy. There’s no way he would just hang it up and quit, it’s not within his character to do so. He truly is the successor to Batman and would fight crime to his last breathe.
DC keeps trying to force a Batman/Batgirl thing. I'm convinced they just like pissing the fans off every now & again. If you consider all of Bruce's personality, IF anything ever happened with Barbara it'd be a 1 off b/c he'd be bored of her. Just the same as Talia is too far the other extreme, he'd spend more time trying to keep her in check & stay pissed at her. It's cool to see Dick & Barbara together in early years & I'm A-ok seeing him with whatever Starfire's real name is.

@@malev6057 I do apologise
He was very badass indeed
Remember the episode he had a giant tuning fork tower that made everyone unable to understand each other
Magnificent
He was very clever
@@joshua.dmurphy8643 no need to apologize. I remember how Terry cancelled almost virtually all sound around him and Shriek except for their footsteps by manipulating his tech or something. That was a cool and interesting moment for me.
I like the mayor twist, that’s more fitting of his character just being more pure and good
Dick Greyson is the James T Kirk of DC Comics. His daughter’s mother could be anyone.
Has anyone else noticed that (beyondverse) Dick Grayson looks exactly like General Nick Fury
This is why I love DC I wish they had series about Batman beyond or a movie that is not a cartoon
Oh my god, older Dick looks like Xigbar from Kingdom Hearts!
I appreciate the video and it looks like some really poor writing. Dick was better than that, batman having sex with Barbra seems like a crime. Then again, taking a child into vigilantly crime fighting won't will you father of the year.
It's non Canon except the recon at the end
3:56 I think her Mother might be Starfire
Yes I remember watching this way back when and wondering the same thing. I don't think I ever finished the series so I assumed I must have missed the episode where what happened to Dick Grayson was explained. Now I see the explanation is in the comics. But speaking of the end of this series. Didn't Batman Beyond end during a Justice League episode? If I remember correctly Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern traveled to a future Gotham city in this episode and it didn't work out too well for the second Batman. Anyway thanks for the vid.
No problem
Dont worry that second batman got restored when the timeline got fixed along with everyone else.
Problem comes as this, these characters, are not making their choices, it is from the individuals who are working on these titles to make a storyline.
Cause these characters arent real???
@@sidjayamohan7863 haha real funny.
I know right? Its so out of character for anyone to act like this. Feeling bad for my boi Grayson man. He became funny chararismatic guy to this. He deserve happiness.
This was surprisingly a good video. Make more Batman videos
Appreciate it, got more Batman ones planned just finding the time. Don't worry they'll be coming
I understood that Dick became some sort of super spy after he was tortured and exposed as Nightwing.
Any story line that has Batman sleep with Batgirl can never be excepted as canon
Bruce Timm- We want to add a dark love triangle and a miscarriage.
WB- What?
In short, he is alive and became a politician.
Yea none of this was actually Canon to the show
Sooo, his final nickname was Dick Fury?
I guess there is a conflict . Dick Gryson took the role of Batman for some time where this role is played by Terry in Batman beyond.
So Grayson did make an appearance on Batman Beyond and we have had comic books since then to fill in the holes...
Ok I've been behind on the comics and any other media related to it. I know I may catch a lot of flack for asking but where is Jason?
By no means am I a comic expert or anything like that, but Bruce and Barbra? That just doesn't sound right...
It is based on the animated series that made Batman the best hero and bashed superman and twisted wonder woman made her steal her armour
Thats not remotely true, Bruce and Barbara is only from the animated series thats true, but superman had his own series at the time and wonder woman wasnt even there yet til they made the jla animated series years later.
It's really not. It was super out of character for both of them.
@@jerekheadrick3379 Barbara was a massive batman fangirl even before they met, and once she found out he was a handsome billionaire...im sorry but this is perfectly reasonable, most women in barbaras position wouldnt hesitate here. And on batmans side he has big intimacy issues and major relationship dysfunctions, he even says as much to wonder woman at one point xD People just dont like having these perfect characters having very human flaws it seems.
@@libertinarey Yeah, well I don't fucking read comics for the realism do I? If I wanted to see flawed characters all I would have to do is look out my fucking window.
Holy shi.... Had to put this at 1.5 speed just for this lithium speaker to sound like he's talking at a normal human rate
*This is so outta character!!!*
But they gotta stir the pot for drama.
I had always hoped Dick and Barbara would wind up together. It makes sense, they're the perfect couple. That's probably why they never did it
My thoughts exactly. Even though Dick had many love interests, Barbara was always the one for him. They should've been endgame.
Nope, starfire is better choice for dick and also starfire is pregnant from dick.despite of barbara starfire never cheated him
Depends on the particular storyline as to whether or not she cheated.
He went from Nightwing to Nick Fury lol
wtf Is up the background noise? I had to stop the video twice to check I don't have some other video in the background. So distracting :D for example at 3:20 it sounds like there is some sort of epic Dragonball Z staredown going on when you're telling about bruce having a celebration and dick also coming to visit?
😂
The whole debate of whether it's an inappropriate relationship between Bruce & Barbara comes down to how big the age gap is. I usually figured Gordon for being about 20 years older than Bruce, which would make for a considerably smaller age gap between Bruce & Barbara than sometimes depicted, maybe 5-7 years (which is nothing). If it's a 25-year age gap as sometimes shown, well, then whether it's a problem depends a bit more as to whether she's 18 or 28. At 28 you're not only a legal adult, but you've mature enough to decide to enter a relationship with an older person.
That's cool that I got to find out what happened Dick Grayson during Batman Beyond. :-)
Glad you liked it
Dicks clone story would make an amazing animated movie imo
I just subbed keep up the good work
Thanks! I have more planned just been super busy recently
So he went from Robin, to nightwing, to becoming nick fury?
Thanks for video.
where's the background music from?
Thank you for this video
No worries!
What happened to Jason todd.
stay tuned...
Way to go viral! 👍🏾
That's Harley Quinn daughter
Thnx for the great video
Thanks for the kind words!
Batman beyond was a great show. Wish they had kept it going.
So Barbra isn't paralyzed anymore
In the series they never went down that road.
@@IntoMyPortal yeah you're right and even if they did im pretty sure they could cure her with future medicine!
What bout the jason todd
Any news bout him?
Dick should've stayed with Starfire, and raised babies!
I just want one fight between nightwing and batman... Where dick wins...
That's what they need to do really, Duke it out.
Wait joker got a lucky shot on his spine too? I remember this writing being a lot better when i was younger
Ha yeah there's always a few books, shows, etc, that seemed way better as kids
Luckily he's not like this in beyond anymore
He's just middle aged so younger
And not hateful plus he has a daughter the new batwoman
Bats is gonna smash her too lol
The only question is, are the costumes on or off?🤔
@@blood_sausage9620 well he has no costume but hes the mayor
And batwoman beyond is now blue like nightwing
This sounds like terrible lazy writing 🤷🏾♂️.
Dick Grayson also has a daughter with Starfire named Mari ?
Turn music down
WHAT I IMAGINE COULD BE ADDED IN A NEW DIFFERENT VERSION OF (BATMAN BEYOND) SHOW:
First off, I imagine Richard “Dick” Greyson aka NightWing, he is a widowed man, father of two, and grandfather of five kids.
In my universe Dick becomes commissioner Grayson with a son “Commander Hawkins” who’s head of a Task Force to hunt Terry down in Lego Batman Beyond 2
is this comic even set in the dcau though? i thought the current beyond series was set in the normal dc continuity
I’m glad they did Dick better. Him losing an eye sucked to see. He became butter and resentful of Bruce. That little boy that wanted revenge for his Parents grew up and hated the man who took him in. I’m glad it got retconned
What about Jason Todd?
He didn't exist in the world of Batman TAS, and he hasn't been referenced or seen in the books as of yet, as far as I know anyway.
His back story was blended with Tim Drake
@@MrPsychic8472 yeah they couldn't sign off on know kid getting tortured brutally and killed thing regardless if it's his OG backstory or Street Punk story for an origin story.
Maybe turn down the music a tad
Where was Jason Todd
He is not in this cartoon series.
They wanted to introduce Jason into the cartoon show apparently but that idea got shot down by the producers. In the end they had mixed Jason and Tim Drake (The then current Robin) for the show which is why Tims Fate is so different compared to his comic counterpart.
Roger Fry he’s not in this universe they kinda made Jason Todd and tim drake the same person
Jason in the Batman Beyond comics is still Red Hood and being brought back to life by a Lazarus pit has halted his aging to a crawl
Shield Medic ur lien
What happened to the love-relationship between Dick Grayson and Starfire?
I'm a child. "bitter dick" made me laugh.
2:32 he said “bitter dick” lol🤣🤣
No wonder Barbara warned Terry to not get started on Grayson
Despite Epilogue, Whaler is a cold bih
Dick Grayson: Nightwing No More at the end every hero retires in the secret world of heroes they are in the shadows always so the mantel of Nightwing will never be in hiding this will carry on through a family member or new blood or future generations is Grayson the end in the tale of vengeance it never ends his always behind the mask of justice and never say never! From early days Dick was meant to become his own hero and rightfully so a lot more than a sidekick but his origin was one of lose and finding hope then lose again but he always had faith in his friendship with Batgirl and his team mates even though that changed but in the end faith behind the mask was never going to be easy so it had to change in the future he became Dick Grayson finally some new future?
I think duck's wife maybe huntress or Jean or something the former runaway criminal
I may be one of the few who have a greater fondness for Robin than for Batman.
Does anyone notice the beyond bat kinda looks like the hawk? I always thought it was for a reason, maybe a transformation bats went through after Greyson matured. This was no tragedy, robin grew up and found his own way. Of course there’s only one Batman but is t that the point? Just a sidenote
I agree, I don't mind where they took Grayson.
My biggest question only heard barber mention him when him and terry has coffee
It's a shame that "Batman Beyond" didn't go on for another two seasons.
I thought the show took place in 2019?
The first episode that showed Bruce(in black suit with red bat) rescued an heiress from abductors who wanted money form her parents. They even had TV that were watching and a news reaport of her abduction was on it. she had been taken. Bruce rescued her, but nearly killed on of the abductors with one of their guns. He gave it up, and close the batcave. That was 2019-now. Then theres the flash forward to 2039. Thats when the show with Terry as Batman(happens later in part 2). How is you didn't understand that?
So future Dick becomes a DC Nick Fury.
they should make it to where his daughter in the new 52 is the daughter of selena(catwoman)
Kinda don't make sense, If Night Wing(Dick Grayson) waa accidentally Killed by Damien Damien Wayne (Current Robin)
