I had a Female White American Boxer who was 69lbs and lived to be the age of 12.5 years. She passed on her own with Us by her side. Aside from a few skin tags and later dementia, she lived an extremely healthy life. Raw food was the secret to the last years of her life. She never looked old or had seemed to have issues being a silly boxer. She also got a lot of exercise. I also had an AKC registered Female fawn 50 lbs who was diagnosed at the age of 7 with DM. She was in a wheelchair and lived to the age of 10. I just got a little Male puppy who is the light of my life. I couldn't imagine life without one. I do hope that we figure out how to make this breed last. The older they get the wiser they become. Thanks for doing this work!
I had 2 boxers & a pit boxer mix my husband used to hunt wild boar. One day they were playing in the back yard w/my 2 1/2 yr old daughter, while I hung clothes. The dogs never left her side. We had a 6' fence around the backyard w/signs along the entire fence & Front door, "BEWARE OF DOGS! " I was hanging clothes w/my back turned from my daughter while 2 men were approaching the fence 2 tell me she looked like a little Shirley Temple Doll only she had white blonde hair, big baby blue eyes & the longest eyelashes ever continued 2 mention I had a beautiful daughter who had her mommas looks. Feeling un- comfortable I said thanks & told them I was busy & they should leave. Our dogs sensed tension & my fear I'm sure. They escorted my daughter closer & stood their ground 2 guard us, never ceasing 2 growl at the 2 men. Our dogs were never trained to be guard dogs. I saw and greatly appreciated this different side of them I'd never seen. It was nice 2 kno we were safe. Especially when one climbed over the fence trying 2 woo my daughter 2 come see him. The female pit/boxer mix grabbed her shirt, pulling my daughter back. The female boxer stayed next 2 me. Before we knew it our 85# boxer had the man faced down in the ground, the other one got attacked when he tried to reach through the fence was grabbed by the arms. My female boxer who stood by me & my daughter ran to get my cell phone, police were called & those 2 men were imprisoned 4 a long time. What surprised me is my dogs NEVER had guard dog classes. It must be ingrained when loved ones are in danger. I was so proud of our 4legged family members.😊😉🐶 I so much more appreciate ALL my dog & human family members.🏜
I like the fact that she is one of the few people that acknowledge that many things we hear about dog breeds are mythologies and stories created by the people. All the info (excuses) I hear from the english bulldog origins to backup his exaggerated and weird looks, for example, is quite amazing.....
The Wife and I are on our 4th pair of Boxers. I've had them since I was a kid and when I told my new Wife we were getting a Boxer pup she said it would be my job and my job alone to care for it. That lasted for all of a few seconds....when our new pup came trotting across the living room and into Her lap it was all over but the Loving. She now see's why I love Boxers so much and like me She can't imagine not having a couple of Boxers in Her life.
I had a Boxer for 10 years she pasted away and it totally broke my heart , she was my best friend we went everywhere and did everything together. If you seen me you seen my boxer, if you didn’t like dogs you didn’t see me I choose her and rather be with her then someone who didn’t like dogs. She was perfect listen so well never had to lease her she stayed at my side. I miss her so much everyday life is a reminder of her because we was always together. Love and miss my Roxie!
Just lost my Lilly. Beautiful brindle with white chest. She had a happy wonderful life with me, I took her every where I went. Made it 13 years of age before I reluctantly had to put her down. She had become unable to use her back legs anymore. We carried on the best we could for most of a year but it all became just to painful to watch the slow degeneration. As soon as I quit working I intend to get another Boxer. Boxers are absolutely the best breed ever.
I love Boxers. I had 2 boxers. My Lillie passed from cancer complications. My current boxer Mila is doing great. I dont think I can ever have any other breed.
I own a Pitboxer. Half pitbull half boxer. She behaves like a pit but has this goofy, loveable, and mischievous side to her that is super endearing. Love my baby
Owned two boxers and will buy another one in the next year or two. Boxy was a clown built like a tank. He was agile, fast, loved children and his family (us). I remember when we were doing a remodeling on our backyard, boxy’s fun time was to steal any tool from the workers and run all over the yard stopping from time to time to challenge the workers to try and take the tool, as soon as they got close he would again pick up the tool and start the game all over.
I like all dogs, but Boxers have been my 3rd, 4rth and currently 5th and 6th dogs. They definitely are companions that can truly tell when you need them.
Haha, thought she kept saying bullion baster. Then I realized what she meant. Bullenbeisser pronunciation = Bull-en-bye-sir That being said, overall Kathy is very well spoken and full of good information. Thanks for sharing.
They are not the family dog. They are another family member. If you can’t commit to that, don’t get a Boxer. We’ve had five Boxers already. Two are still with us. But they are loyal and funny and protective of their family. Kaiser, Duke and Brutus… we miss you every single day.
In 2003, one of my friends had a boxer which does not had this short muzzle. And it was bigger than the one shown in the video. It was a working dog I remember. He used to tell us that it was imported from Germany.
I have an 11 month old Boxer mix puppy. She is beautiful and sweet anf loves everyone including other dogs. I am working on training her to be a service dog for me. Shr is very smart but I have 1 problem with her training....She gets so excited when shes around other people and dogs that she jumps with excitement. Any ideas on how to curb that habit? We've tried a few things and some work when she's getting the treats from the person coming in but as soon as they stop treating her she starts jumping again wanting more and the love.
Getting cuddly with a playful breed will not help. Love them but not to an extent of getting cuddly with them. Be gentle but assertive. Correct them even before they show that kind of behaviour. You can do this by reading their expressions and body language and before they even try to jump on people just start patting them in the neck part and command them to sit to calm them down. Take them to long walks twice a day if possible. I hope it will help.
My boxer was the best thing that came out of my six year marriage. He has been a best friend and cuddle bug. He had a seizure two weeks ago. He is fine but found out he has an ear infection.
Thanks for this informative and interesting video. Before Rottweilers I had Boxers. They are wonderful dogs and I agree with everything said here about them.
Very interesting what you have said about the begining of the breed. I have only saw in the USA other dogs having the same carachteristics as your dogs on a place called Von Bachbett. You probably know. They also have wonderful dogs just like yours. Very seldom we see people willing to breed Boxers having the kind of approach you have. I wish you success from the bottom of my heart. May God keep them away from the bigest health problem they use to have which is cancer... By the way, they are for sure, the best dogs in the planet and probably in the whole solar system! Greetings from Brazil, Mrs. Ochs.
@@victoriandogtrainingacadem5814 not argueing one way or another, but i have a working type American bulldog crossed with a Staffordshire bull terrier (both breeds are very similar in looks to the two breeds she believes made up the Boxer) and as a pup everyone thought he was a boxer. as he's got bigger he looks less so, but still very much like a boxer just a bit heavy set.
Miss my old boxer Ick such a good dog. He had it all love to play, super intelligent and would give protection he didn't even like play fighting and would break it up without hurting anyone.
Boxers are the first breed I fell in love with! We had an amazing one when I was a kid in the 80’s. She was a fantastic family dog and a typical boxer in that she was very playful and loving, but unlike some boxers of today, she took her job as watchdog and guardian very seriously. I still miss her. Also, the bull terrier came along much later than the original boxer stock did. I think she is making up her own fantasies. Wow. Lmao I have never heard anyone say the boxer has bull terrier in it. That is some dangerous misinformation right there.
Nice vid; you don't get what a true Boxer companion is............ .........mine saved my life.........and now she's gone.......called home..... .......I miss her so much...........
My first boxer was 22 years ago. I have labs and shepherd mix lab, but boxer's are my best dog I will ever really want in my home. I just fell in love with the breed and they have never disappointed me. There loving genital way with little babies and others are great.
I had a German boxer, he was bigger than the ones here, he was full of muscle, the sweetest dog and yet a very good guard dog at night, in the day he was super friendly of anyone that came to the house he didn't know, but he was very watchful until they left, the only problem he had, was a skin condition which was treated with a good medication it was pricey but worth it, he lived till 11.5 years old, I had to put him down after he collapsed and found to have spleen cancer, took me 3 years to get over his passing
the mastiff size though has to be part of the boxer. neither of the other two are big enough. i absolutely ADORE boxers. I have a 3 month old one now and she is an absolute treat.
I have been into boxers since 1989. I have had about 13 now. Had all types: show quality, pet quality, misfit old ones/sick ones, behavior problems. They are so awesome. They are very sensitive dogs. I only have one now - her buddy passed away over a year ago. He was 13 yo. She's 10 now. Delilah was 12 and the ones before didn't live as long - 6 to 9 yo. I'm my dog's dog, lol. I would protect them with my life.
YAYYYY!!!! Boxers are THE BEST! They can do ANYTHING - and make you laugh. I have two of these crazy animals and I'd have a hundred if I could. Thanks for making another video about them!
They need a lot of love. Like A LOT. They protect like none. They might be old and big but they want their owner's lap and scratchies all the time and love to slather you with their big bubbly drools. But lay hands on their owners and that jaw will break your bones into pieces. And then will look at you with their big eyes like huh? and then talk to you in their weird ass noises and words. You gotta love them. They are the most adorable beings in the whole universe
One of my boxers loved Cheez-its. We would sit out back and he would eat some with us. He would stand right in front of us, lift his tail and ppppfftt. He would smile and walk away. Everyone had to move, or die. 🤣🤣🤣
I have a nasty neighbor, that had a boxer in mid 90s i was learning how to ride my bike without wheelis and my neighbor send his 2 dogs to attack me, but just one did the one who didn't was the boxer and when his partner went home the boxer came at me slowly as his was asking for forgivenes, since that time i saw a boxer as a really great family dog. Sorry for my bad english, i'm from Portugal.
I love em so much. We had a beautyfull BOXER rhat i miss soooo much in my childhood from Sweden. He was born in 1972 in june and took cere of me at the same age
I've had 3 Boxers and they were all very intelligent. The 1st one , Shiloh was mistreated by my neighbor's brats while she was growing up and as she grew older she became dangerous to unfamiliar people . Her first attempt at motherhood was a single pup . As soon as Vida was born and cleaned up ( within an hour of birth ) , Shiloh went and got her a tennis ball to play with . Being a first time mother, she was very rough with Vida and I knew the pup would be tough if she survived her mother . Once Vida was coordinated enough to run , when she saw her mother come bouncing toward her she'd run for the couch and crawl under it because she did n't enjoy Mom's playfulness . However , Vida nursed well and was a very big and plump pup since she got all the milk she could possibly suckle . Once she grew up she was a very muscular Boxer and had so much stamina ( due to the very tough love and constant wrestling with Mom ) .They were so rambunctious and muscular , when we played ball with them my 2 sons and I would play " keep away " from the girls and believe me as soon as one of us caught the ball we threw it to someone else because we did n't want trampled and slimed .LOL .Sadly Shiloh ended up being put down because she became vicious toward strangers . That was due to the neighbor kids torturing her while I was at work. Vida lived about 12-13 years and passed away from cancer . A few months later I got Kate. She was about 9 months old then . She was such a loving dog . She loved our cat ( Dennis the menace ), baby ducklings and any other animal she came in contact with . Kate and Dennis were such good friends, Dennis would let Kate put his whole head in her mouth . Then Dennis looked like about a dozen snails crawled all over his head . LOL Once there was a huge snapping turtle in our yard and Kate was determined to play with it but the turtle was NOT wanting to play so we had to get her away before she got her nose ripped off . One night Kate came trotting back from outside and when she got into the kitchen she dropped a 'possum on the floor in front of the kitchen sink . ( obviously a friend Kate brought home to play with ) We quickly removed it from the kitchen and Kate was sad when she went to find it and it had disappeared . From that night on, we checked her for critters before she entered . Kate lived to be about 10 and she died of cancer . Each of those dogs took a piece of my heart when they passed away . I'll never forget them .
So interesting because I was only saying recently that you can see the similarities between boxers and American bulldogs. My boxer also will take a stalking or hunting stance when she sees birds etc
Boxers are entertaining dogs, so funny to watch. Had two of them as a kid, they knocked me over more than once, never any harm intended. Have had a couple of GSDs as an adult, they're just the best in my book (no offense intended to other breeds).

We’ve had boxers for over thirty years, Rocky is our fourth, and cropped ears were the norm but I’m so used to Rocky’s flopping long ears now I love them as is but of course his tail is cropped. My wife calls him mister wiggles as he wags his whole body with joy.
Just lost our second white boxer Annabelle to cancerShe was 10.Our other white was Bart.who was an albino white who was deaf and passed at 14.There is a special bond with this breed as they are so human like with the way they interact with family’s.There is a huge hole in my heart today as tears fall for my baby but she is across the golden bridge running free❤️❤️❣️❤️
Boxers since '92 in the family, they're the best of all.
I'm in love with boxers. The cutest face, strong and smart. I just love them...
Absolutely. I also have stories - shocked me the first time mine went from mellow to protector.
get a Boxer dog and you'll never live without one for the rest of your life . They are the funniest, most loyal, loving dogs I've ever owned .
Pit bulls beats them hands down when it comes to loyalty no breeds comes close
So are American pitbulls, same ancestor.
Her dogs are stunning wow, and I love the intact ears and tails! Awesome video 😊
you should see my boy boris hes white with a patch over his eye

So nice to see Boxers with undocked tails.
Yes bring us more dogumentaries I love this channel.
I have a boxer, he’s 2 years old x he is very stubborn but the most protective loving dog ever x
My boxer is 8 months old. He is sooo stubborn too! He has so much energy it’s crazy. And going for walks with him is so hard.
Dogs only live with us a short while because they are born knowing already how to love.
You Don't Own Boxers
They own YOU
You become OBSESSED 😍
The brindle is beautiful ,looks like my pup...same wider muzzle, even flukes for less drool and better bite work....no cropping....nice!
I love Boxers. I had 2 boxers. My Lillie passed from cancer complications. My current boxer Mila is doing great. I dont think I can ever have any other breed.
Same
I understand you, Hanna is my 5th boxer.
Same. Once a Boxer, always a Boxer!
Boxers are great dogs I had one he was an amazing dog def a clown but strong loving dog will always miss him
I own a Pitboxer.
I had 5 boxers in a row.
Cont. My thoughts boxers were the best my babies my friends my loves. We would have long conversations
I like all dogs, but Boxers have been my 3rd, 4rth and currently 5th and 6th dogs. They definitely are companions that can truly tell when you need them.
Who else owns a boxer dog
What you said boxes and not boxer
Two wonderful pups!
Meee
@@iamjessicalauren1 my fault auto correct screws me over thanks for telling me tho
I own a pit box she’s amazing
Best specimen of a boxer I've seen . Zeke you did again!
I have a 6 yr male brindle who looks like the female in the film, but with 4 white feet. Happy to see natural ears and tail. Mine has a short tail.
Another enjoyable presentation. Very informative
Haha, thought she kept saying bullion baster. Then I realized what she meant. Bullenbeisser pronunciation = Bull-en-bye-sir
That being said, overall Kathy is very well spoken and full of good information. Thanks for sharing.
I was waiting for someone to call that out also mispronounced schutzhund!
European boxer
More big then American boxers
My impression of boxers since 1957 was that their tails were docked? Find it hard to see the article featuring long tails.
Do you prefer boxers over Rottweilers? And why?
Very interesting what you have said about the begining of the breed. I have only saw in the USA other dogs having the same carachteristics as your dogs on a place called Von Bachbett. You probably know. They also have wonderful dogs just like yours. Very seldom we see people willing to breed Boxers having the kind of approach you have. I wish you success from the bottom of my heart. May God keep them away from the bigest health problem they use to have which is cancer... By the way, they are for sure, the best dogs in the planet and probably in the whole solar system! Greetings from Brazil, Mrs. Ochs.
Lots of cancer in boxers :( Hopefully good breeders will work this out.
AB yes sad I lost mine at 5 out of nowhere
@@jackm4307 I'm sorry to hear that.
Jack M could have been heart problems, some dogs die of it at 5-6 years old
Some breeders have
Edgy Famas14 it was cancer started in the leg and spread through the lymphs
I have Sub aortic stenosis! I had no idea boxers carry this birth defect. That makes me love my boxer even more
ch barr My positive energy towards you and your Heart. May God Bless You.
It's funny how she says the breed's origin is made up and then She has her own Guess that she made up. 🤔
Robert Forester people love to believe what they think is right lol crazy !
The breed’s studbook goes back to a Bulldog imported from the UK
Yeah she lost me there. She describes their body as a bull terrier body and their head in between bull terrier and bulldog. Does she even have eyes?
@@victoriandogtrainingacadem5814 not argueing one way or another, but i have a working type American bulldog crossed with a Staffordshire bull terrier (both breeds are very similar in looks to the two breeds she believes made up the Boxer) and as a pup everyone thought he was a boxer. as he's got bigger he looks less so, but still very much like a boxer just a bit heavy set.
funny enough he also likes to box with his front paws
Miss my old boxer Ick such a good dog. He had it all love to play, super intelligent and would give protection he didn't even like play fighting and would break it up without hurting anyone.
The physical differences between working and show boxers is crazy
She was so professional..very good video...
Boxers are the best. They are super smart, easy to train, loving and friendly, but can be fearless and protective when they know they need to be.
Thank you for producing and sharing this quality content!
I had a German boxer, he was bigger than the ones here, he was full of muscle, the sweetest dog and yet a very good guard dog at night,
in the day he was super friendly of anyone that came to the house he didn't know, but he was very watchful until they left, the only problem he had, was a skin condition which was treated with a good medication it was pricey but worth it, he lived till 11.5 years old, I had to put him down after he collapsed and found to have spleen cancer, took me 3 years to get over his passing
the mastiff size though has to be part of the boxer. neither of the other two are big enough. i absolutely ADORE boxers. I have a 3 month old one now and she is an absolute treat.
One of the first dogs i ever wanted
I got 2 boxers there fun dogs to have around my kids love them
Love your channel and your videos Zeke. Can't wait to see what you do next. Always informative and interesting. Great job
That brindle dog is stunning
She does have some of best boxers I ever seen on line
I 😊really enjoyed your video. Thanks
Boxers are truly the most entertaining, people and dog oriented breed out there
I have been into boxers since 1989.
Also, GIVE ME THAT PUPPY!!! :-)
Please make a video about service dogs! You are a dog channel and a special video featuring some service dogs would be amazing!
Wish she left her phone no
Dude love your videos so honest and informative @AKC should get you working on their meet the breed. Best of luck in the future
Boxers are no. 1 breed to have at home with family of people. Have experience of having 7 boxers since 2006. Just love them. ❤️
Nobody ever talks about the funny the reaction they have to there own farts
Thank you very much
Very informative
I have a nasty neighbor, that had a boxer in mid 90s i was learning how to ride my bike without wheelis and my neighbor send his 2 dogs to attack me, but just one did the one who didn't was the boxer and when his partner went home the boxer came at me slowly as his was asking for forgivenes, since that time i saw a boxer as a really great family dog. Sorry for my bad english, i'm from Portugal.
Wow you have Alano Español too! thats my dream dog.
I got a BENTLEY
Same color & Markings!
Excellent breed.
Thank you for your service ma’am
So interesting because I was only saying recently that you can see the similarities between boxers and American bulldogs. My boxer also will take a stalking or hunting stance when she sees birds etc
Boxers are entertaining dogs, so funny to watch. Had two of them as a kid, they knocked me over more than once, never any harm intended. Have had a couple of GSDs as an adult, they're just the best in my book (no offense intended to other breeds).
Excellent we’re on our 3rd boxer with a Rottweiler puppy, both 8 weeks old... hopefully the boxer and steady constant bonding the Rottweiler will be a little more mellow than normal....we love both breeds
