Punt or No Punt?! Jarretman Has NO CLUE What to Do Vs 'UBER Genius' at $2000NL?! Part 1

  • Punt or No Punt continues to be graced with some of the best players going with the appearance of the man himself, Jarretman! It's incredibly exciting to be able to make an episode with someone I've been watching for such a long time and I know you've all been looking forward to it as well! Jarretman certainly doesn't disappoint, choosing to only bring on hands that can't be solved which is an awesome idea! Some absolute corkers in here for sure.
    If you haven't heard of Jarretman, or you have but haven't watched his content before, it's without doubt some of the most valuable poker content available on the internet, with play & explains up to 2knl.
    Make sure to check out Jarretman's UA-cam channel here: / seirnflow26
    This is definitely some of the most fun I've had reviewing hands, knowing that no one is able to check them in a computer afterwards! It certainly feels in the spirit of the game and I'll be considering making this a rule from now on I think!
    I'll also be running a new Community Edition of Punt or No Punt in the near future where members of the Discord can share their hands! This time I'll look to get a guest on with me to go over the hands. I'll also be on the lookout for my next guest, but it seems like I'll be hard pressed to get better than what I've managed to luck myself into recently!
    If you enjoy Punt or No Punt, make sure to subscribe to the channel so you don't miss more in the future.
    Thanks again for all the support!

    I wonder about last hand. If MunEZ 3bet-calls 55,66,77,88, maybe these hands can take this line as well as some sort of hybrid(of course in this case 77 rivers basically nuts). Like it would be easy for him to fold against raises on flop or turn and OTR he makes some better hands to fold(like some of TT, JJ as you mentioned) and at the same time he makes some worse hands to call (like AK) and he unblocks many of your folds like KJ, KT etc., but yeah depends on how each player reacts and reads each others ranges, I think you could talk about it all day and get no where closer to the right answer, which just does not exist I guess or maybe you could say that right answer is not static but rather dynamic. Either way love both of you and good luck at the tables.

    • @eastyyy22
      @eastyyy22  2 роки тому +1

      Munez clearly understands this spot to an extent where you can literally see his edge in this one hand, even vs the very best. Jarretman's response is unreasonably good considering his claim that he hasn't seen it before! Thanks for the kind words

    Hand 1 is straight out of my playbook, so I am never gonna give this one a punt in a million years! 1-0 to NP
    Hand 2 in my opinion is just an unecessary punt because of the Recreational dynamic making there to be little incentive to have a bluffing range OTF, Flop bet could bet Money but Turn/River I am not so sure entirely, but maybe he can in a vacuum overfold OTR? However in my heart of hearts if I see an absolute cracking punt I just love it too much but I agree with you Nick, feels like a Punt. 1-1.
    Hand 3 I honestly have no idea, like none at all. Leading strategies becoming way more prevalent but not yet tricked down to Mid stakes - I imagine his hand is a reasonable bluff catcher if we think he does this with KQ/AQ and has some JT, KJ, KT hands, if they don't give up at a balanced frequency, but I honestly have no idea so I couldn't call this a punt even if I knew the spot. 2-1? Void the round? Call it a draw? Get Munoz on to judicate?
    Look forward to Part 2

    Not sure if im too far off here, but if he wants to have a donking range i think he wants to have the ace of clubs because if we never 4 bet AQs he removes one combo of our AQo compared to when he is holding any other ace. So not holding the ace of clubs is probably better i think but weird spot.

  • @gentooryan3459
    @gentooryan3459 2 роки тому

    The donk line had my head spinning, but what do you think of this? If we lead majority of Qx here, we would need some bluffs so ATcc unblocks the other AQs combos and TT we would have and there are a decent chunk of turns we can barrel (c, Q, maybe J). When the Q comes vs a non raise on the flop it narrows villain's range to mostly AK, JJ, TT (which we sort of block). We can also win with an A vs TT, JJ, KK. You have a lot of Qx here, so the suited A that unblocks the most AQ seems reasonable. Thoughts? If we do donk flop, x turn with missed barrels I don't know what value we get here with so do you mix in Ts and Js? idk

If we shove the river with only K2s and KJ in that hand, which I believe is what was recommended, then that's ~16 combos of value and 3 bluffs. Given the horrible prize he's getting on a call and the fact that we have it almost always given that range, can't villain just never bluffcatch and be fine?

So if I'm shoving KJ and way too few bluffs, the idea that the bluffs are too profitable isn't really a concern, and you ought to be able to call only KJ and do fine.

    Interesting when i ran this hand vs muneZ_StaRR. It has villain donking 24.4% of his range on this exact flop. Main bluffs seem to come from a5/a6/a7s at a high freqency and IP should raise 31% of the time using this combo AsKh high % of the time. Turn it seems he has KTs pure as a lead on the Qd aswell as all A3s/88/77/66 pure lead. ip still raising vs turn lead 9% of the time and some AKo in there.. pure calling turn. It has us pure folding river with this exact combo for a call as villain should bluff all KhJh/KhTh. It doesnt have villain leading flop ever with ATcc but does small freq with ATss but checks turn always on this specific card. Interestingly oop bluffs AcKc at 100% frequency when this line is taken on the river. Nice hands

    Nick, I ran the AK hand on GTO wizard - BB can donk for 1/4 pot 45% of the time, whilst checking rest of range... Very sick

      @t00mgoos 2 роки тому

      also, in the line taken, BB is allowed to 1/4 on the turn 70% of time.... Munez is a bot lol

      also river BB can shove 9x + for value/merge

      Clearly your input had different ranges from that of Jarretman and, no offense, but I'm inclined to trust his more than yours ^^'

    K7s (2nd hand). Why do he want to bet if BB is a fish? Don't you want to bet only value vs fish? because fishes weakness is that he calls to much and he did exact opposite, he bets non value hand.
