12.5 mm is disappointing for a dress watch. And Orient need to do a no date version because the date window really does spoil the aesthetic balance of the watch.
A lot of the thickness comes from the crystal so it doesn't affect the looks much. My only concern would be the legibility - looks perfect on this well lit video, but I wonder if it is the same in real life with polished hands on a silver dial.
@timepieceofart still, it's getting a bit out of hand. I got an 8.5" wrist and even the latest G-Shock DW series won't fit. The band's not long enough wtf
We are in the LGBT era. We have women wearing men's watches and effeminate men wearing women's sized watches. Your wrist size and curvature should dictate what size you go for and to some degree your body type should also influence the watch's proportions too.
They still make the 40.50mm size. I measured my strap and it will fit 8.5 inches in the last hole. These days it is getting easier to find 21mm width straps on AliExpress and other sources.
Version 7 in a beige dial is fantastic. I’ve got one and I love it. It screams mid-century class.
I have tried V2 with the beige dial and blue hands, fantastic color combination
It's an elegant watch. Easy to wear too.
Great looking watch, perfectly executed
35 mm would look tiny on my 7 3/4 wrist. Edit: 38 mm is perfect.
I want one but I wish it didn't have the date display. Would look much cleaner without it
That would be a fantastic update
Perfect Bambino: 36 mm, 10 mm height (no need for open case back) and no date window.
that is as close as it gets to a perfect dress watch. I would go the same except for 38 mm, 36 i too small for my wrist.
@@timepieceofart so hopefully one day 36 and 38 mm with those specs 🤞
Case size too large for a traditional dress watch in my eyes, 35mm is the sweet spot. But apart from that I do like the look of this Orient.
I thought about that, but honestly most people cant pull a 35mm. Me personally, I find the 35mm too small for my wrist, it looks kinda silly
@@weldermarshall Look at Kuoe ROYAL SMITH 90-006. It’s not cheap as Bambino, but looks fantastic.

@nkr1159 good points. I would take it without the date window in a heartbeat though.
It's a gorgeous watch. But what's with the damn downsizing recently?! Cost cutting disguised as "a classic look".
I understand your frustration, especially if you have bigger size wrists, but I think the new size makes it look more elegant.

@@Wayne-q1v6l typical men dress watches in mid of 20 century were about 34 mm in diameter and that was not LGBT era.
