Awesome video! The minute I saw it, we were homesick! We stayed last year in site 718. you were close to us! We will be back in 3 weeks. Cherry Hill is an AWESOME park! At the time, my Mrs. was in a wheelchair. Everyday there was a golfcart appearing out of no where to take us to where we wanted to go. One night, I bent the front wheel of her wheelchair on a large rock. I mentioned it to the office staff, a few minutes later, maintenance pulled up to out site, took the bent wheel, and made a new axle! They ate the model that all campgrounds should be! This year we will use the Metro!
Thanks so much for watching and sharing your story. A campground that is family owned since 1921 says a lot about who they are and their values. We hope you have a great time in a few weeks. The Metro is awesome.
I love DC but have never camped there. Cherry Hill looks amazing! I am headed to Huntsville to stay at Monte Sano with some friends next week. Safe travels
Thanks Cotton Tales! It's a great option to see D.C. We are currently in western Nebraska about to make the jump into Wyoming. This is the best trip we've ever done in the Airstream!
We were there last year with our grandkids, went into DC a couple of times. The kids loved the amenities including the sluice box in front of the office. Thanks for another great video.
We have stayed at Cherry Hill Park many times and really like it! So many amenities in this park. We enjoy biking DC and also use this park as a stopover when heading north. Highly recommend!
Thanks for the video! I was born and raised in college park, about a mile from the original location, but never went in either park, despite coming from a camping family. Happy trails!
Always follow your suggestions. Last summer the Cape May - Lewes Ferry. Spring 2025 will be staying at Cherry Hill for our visit to the Washington DC attractions. Great videos. Great RV tips.
Thanks so much for watching and your comment means a lot to us. Cherry Hill is great and D.C. is awe inspiring. We hope to get back soon because there is still so much we need to see (and see again)...
Chili Dogs looked good guys, but wife and I are about your age and those don't always sit well if you know what I mean. I would be a little worried having to take the metro back to the trailer without facilities near just in case. We were in that area approximately two years ago since one of our grandchildren has special needs and had surgery at John Hopkins in Baltimore. Had some really good Asian food and other foods while we were there. Our son also lived in DC at that time. We took our trailer there and stayed at the Elks Club (no frills, just electric and water) in Alexandria Virginia, but they charge members only $20 per day. Since we were going to be there for two weeks, we decided that this was our best option i.e. $280 versus $1,400. We will be heading out with our AS from the home base in Central Oregon in September to Florida and then up the East Coast. Over the next couple of weeks I plan to re-calk the roof seems and other items on the roof. The windows and rub rail trim will also be re-calked. Just taking care of business proactively on the AS. Be careful coming back out West.
Thanks so much for watching! Yes, the dogs were good and we had no issues. However, there are NO bathrooms at any Metro stations and that can be a problem. Sounds like you had a good deal in Alexandria. Safe travels as you go from Oregon to Florida and up the east coast. Keep an eye out for the Luv Sub!
We did a week in DC this year and stayed at Cherry Hill Park. The campground is absolutely lovely and we would certainly stay there again. As for DC... Of course there's a lot of sights to see and things to do, but be prepared that the ratio of adventuring, to sitting in traffic is way odd in the wrong direction. For each hour of adventuring, you'll do 2 hours of sitting in traffic. For us the bus and metro were not going to work as they were not dog friendly, we travel with a small dog. Great review of the campground! Safe travels!!!
Thanks for watching! Yes, Cherry Hill is great. We are glad that our situation allowed us to take the Metro. Next time we may take our collapsible folding bikes to give us a little more range once downtown.
Great information video. We are scheduled for Cherry Hill next month. However, I’m very partial to my Cincinnati Skyline Chili, but I’ll keep an open mind! Safe travels as you head west!
Thanks for watching! Cherry Hill and visiting our nation's capital is wonderful. Make sure you take the Metro right from the campground into the District. C has been experimenting with her version of Cincinnati chili and I think she's onto something delicious...
Thanks for watching! I think a lot of that depends on where you're at and what type of storage you're looking for. We store ours (normally) and an outside campground for $60/month. Inside storage (when available) is $120/mo. Many fairgrounds offer inside storage at very reasonable prices but have some disadvantages we didn't like (they would tell us when we could retrieve the RV which often didn't work with our schedule). We're not too familiar with other storage options but I would think if your budget is $300/mo you should be able to find options. Good luck with finding an RV.
Love your videos, You guys need to get out more, why point that Airstream toward a terrible part of out country, why would you get so close to the swamp.
Thanks for watching! Of course, we don't capture everything in our lives on UA-cam. My brother is in the army and is stationed in D.C. We were there for a family event.
Love your hat, Cindy!
Thanks! That's my windy day hat. The flower is actually a tie-on belt from J. Crew.

I love your videos. Americana is your specialty. Safe travels out West my friends. 😊
Thanks Tina for watching as always! We are literally having the best time we've had in the 21 years of owning our Airstream.
Never thought about camping near DC! Thanks for sharing. Coney Dogs looked great! 😋
Thanks guys! We always love D.C. We're out west but have already come across some more great regional food!
That was a helpful video ... I'd never heard of this DC-close campground. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching! It really is a super campground and how can you beat the easy access to the D.C. Metro?
I love DC but have never camped there. Cherry Hill looks amazing! I am headed to Huntsville to stay at Monte Sano with some friends next week. Safe travels

@@LuvSubbin I cannot wait to see all the cool spots y’all have found on the way! Safe travels
Thanks for the Cherry Hill RV park tips and Bens Chili seeking for cherry blossom !
Thanks for watching and we're glad our video will be of use. Someday we will hit the Cherry Blossoms...
Rich, if that’s your worst Rookie mistake then you’re doing great. A true Rookie wouldn’t have had a sewer hose extension on hand 🙂
Thanks guys. We did it again here in Nebraska but we were 20' 3" from the sewer dump. Had to move today 1' forward. 😠
We were there last year with our grandkids, went into DC a couple of times. The kids loved the amenities including the sluice box in front of the office. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks guys for watching! It's such a great campground for kids or grandkids. The access to our nation's capital is great.
Loved the campground, great place to stay outside DC! Thanks for the video. Nice surprise crossing path with you guys there, enjoyed meeting you both!
Thanks for watching and it was great meeting you as well. Safe travels.

Thanks for watching - we agree that Cherry Hill is great. We considered taking our folding Brompton bikes into D.C. and may do so the next time.
Thanks for the video! I was born and raised in college park, about a mile from the original location, but never went in either park, despite coming from a camping family. Happy trails!
Thanks for watching! We will certainly be back as there is so much to see in D.C. We hear the new Spy Museum is awesome...
Great video! Debbie and I will have to out that park on the list!

Thanks for watching! It's a great park and we hope it was helpful. Having the Metro right there was clutch...

Guys if I buy rv, where should I park it cheap ? 300$ a month rent for electricity etc ..
