i cant believe this ,ive been waiting to get a chicken for 7 years! And now the time has come ,i got a 2 weeks old silkie and she purrs like a cat when i pet her fluffy head and her ears are turqoise, shes so cutttte and i think shes big enough to wear a diaper so i can have her roaming around the house with me without having mom get mad at me for the poop ,lol i love chickens so much ,people see them as food but i see them as beautiful inteligent birds

Thank you. I've got a hen with an injured leg staying in the house right now away from the rooster. I was surprised at how quickly she bonded with my cat and dogs. Every evening, she jumps up on the couch next to my recliner and snuggles close to me until it's time for bed. That being said, I'm ready for her to get back up and running on her own. She's starting to feel better and she's getting into EVERYTHING.

I’ve been making the exact same diapers for my house chicken using a sock however I buy the small plastic Dixie cups and insert that in the pocket under the tail against the vent.

In my researching things for my hens, I’ve come across so many videos of men being so rough & cruel in their instructional videos, apparently not knowing any better or having the sense. Just watched a diaper video that came up first with a little kid tormenting a hamster the entire demonstration in the background, then tormenting the chicken w the hamster while the dad just laughed 😣😣😡 Point being, it was so nice to see this video if only for how much you love your animals & how safe they feel with you & clearly enjoy your presence. 💛 I wish all animal videos were like this!

My poor little silky chicken was so stressed when I tried to putting her little nappy on. I was doing it all wrong. I was only trying to put her feet through the little hole at the bottom which is actually for her tail. I realised this once I looked at the video again. I don't know if I should put her through it again today????? They are brilliant!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe it was a bit snug try a bigger sock. I have a fantail pigeon who id like to keep indoors and this sock idea is awsome going to make him one tomorrow and see how it goes 😀

Hm, the baby socks I used were shaped alittle differently and I definitely cut spaces to large for my week old silkie mix chick so it didn’t fit quite right, but either way she kept trying to chew at it to get it off so I was worried she’d get a string loose and it would become a choking hazard. I might just have to deal with the occasional poo during cuddle times if I want these chicks to bond with me because shoving sock outfits on them certainly isn’t helping lol.
I just made the diaper and amazingly unlike most of my creations she wasnt bothered by it i love it! Is ur hen a suffolk white? I ised to have one as my first chicken but she died in a fox attack
That's alright. I know it can be scary but try to understand them. It's their defense mechanism and it will take time to develop trust. What you can do it wear socks or covered shoes around them in case they are pecking at your feet. You can use gloves or towel around your hands as protection too. Then again try to remember that their beaks won't hurt you too much. A more aggressive peck may break skin but some neosporin takes care of that. Try to read the chicken's body language. They generally peck aggressively ONLY when they are scared or feel threatened. This really worked with my rooster. He was very wary of humans and it took me almost an year to establish trust with him. Try to give your chickens some food (keep some distance from them if you're scared) but let them see that it is you who has come with the food. Do this as many times as you can. Nothing creates love like food! It's about trust and kindness and how you treat them really. Hope this helps. :)

it is also easy to design flight suit, easy pattern. you could also put a klennex type of paper to protect the fabric?

If you put a guaze or pad inside it, you can just change to pad instead of whole diaper Everytime
