  • Lusting for Lamy?
LAMY. The very name evokes emotions that are extreme to put things mildly. The LAMY Safari, on the one extreme of their repertoire, is among the most copied designs in the world of fountain pens. On the other is the defining LAMY 2k, an ode of the Bau Haus, a serious contender for the GOAT title among fountain pens. Lamy pens, embodying everything that German engineering is celebrated for, are pieces that every connoisseur wants to possess, that every writer wants to vent their creativity through. There is another thing that I must tell you right up front - to Lamy, designing takes a holistic approach, that goes far beyond mere product design. It is a way of life, ingrained in the minutest of details that are as much an ode to everything Deutsche, as it is to the brand itself.
The LAMY brand is represented in more than 80 countries with over 15,000 points of sale worldwide, including around 200 mono-brand stores. Needless to say, this company from Heidelberg is one of the leading German manufacturers of writing instruments - one that has been creating popular pen-lore for many decades now.
In this video, we are highlighting another characteristic Lamy fountain pen, one that, being in the middle, flanked by the iconic Safari and the 2000, has not received the recognition it deserves - the Lamy Studio. This particular pen has been my trusted companion for many, many years and I am sure that you will be able to discern my undiluted adulation for it as I talk. Yes, as the Lamy 2000 was launched the year I was born - 1966 - I hold a special affinity for it, but the Studio is no less dear. I hope I do justice to its dexterity and qualities and that you dear viewers will also give it the place in your hearts that it deserves.
Oh, another thing. These fountain pens are much more than writing instruments. They are for sure fine tools for writing, but go beyond as they are also aids for drawing, scribbling, doodling, and painting, helping create new forms of expression that make our thoughts tangible.

hi myself gajanan I am 15 years old and I am from Telangana in 2022 I got an Iamy Safari limited edition 020strawberrypink pen as a gift from my brother honestly I loved that pen but after some time my grandfather gifted me a vintage Ratnam pen which was given by his father to him the nib was made of pure gold and it is way smoother than any other fountain pen manufactured today nowadays I think fountain pens are mostly manufactured in industries and there are very fewer people who create a fountain pen without using much technology so I feel very lucky to hold a rare vintage piece and I think we should promote people to write with fountain pens

My first purchase with my own money was a Lamy Safari. Now the last pen I’ve ordered is a Lamy 2000. This marks the end of my fountain pen collection journey.

Recently, I completed my LAMY collection (at least for the moment...😊)
I own Safaris (more than is healthy), an Acccent, a Studio, a 2000 and a Dialog cc.
What I reach most for, is the Studio...
I put a Z53 nib on it which I ground to a reverse architect, that thing just checks all the boxes for me, concerning a pen!

The audible click secure posting method for the cap is desirable. For years, Waterman fountain and rollerball pens--many models--had this feature. Lamy is indeed a great brand. Thank You, Chawm!

I love the Lamy Studio. I have several in different colors. I usually replace the steel nib with a 14k nib and it makes them even more lovely!

Thanks for the insight. I have been using my Lamy Safari for ... I think more than 10 years now... no issues whatsoever. Out of so many of the fountain pens I have acquired over the years, I nowadays find myself mainly using the following 3 pens: Click Aristocrat HT (as an ED pen), Pilot Kakuno, and Lamy Safari. (all with extra fine nibs).

I love and prefer the Lamy Scala. I have the orange LE Scala with the 14k nib. It’s the reason why I never bought the Studio and opted for the pricier Scala instead.
Also, for nearly the same price, I like the Lamy Aion much more than the Studio.

Lamy studio is one of my favourite pens. I have the imperial blue colour medium nib (steel). I really love it.
    Liked this video very much.
If possible, please make a comparison video of “pilot e 95s” and “waterman carene”.
These both pens have unique nib and really different looks.
Keep it up sir. Take care. Regards.

Hi i am a regular viewer of your videos
I love the way you showcase and describe about the features of the pens
I have bought many pens that you have displayed in your videos
But currently I am seeing that most of the videos are featuring a bit expensive pens and it is becoming a bit difficult to like and relate the features as they are exceeding my budget so i would be grateful if you can come up with pens till a range of around 2k-3k

I don't know if you have used the Click Aristocrat HT pens. If not, I suggest you take a look at those. After hopping from one fountain pen to another over a few years, I have finally settled for 3 pens of which the Click Aristocrat HT is one. I use it as an eye dropper pen with enormous ink capacity. It's not too small and not too big (like the Click Renaissance) while having a wide grip (which I love). If you need to get in and out of AC rooms (especially during summer), ED may not be the way to go, but then again, this pen also supports cartridges.

To me, the EDC Pen and Premium pen are poles apart. Why I am saying is because I believe, the EDC pen is bound to have rough usage and may not always be “placed in the front pocket”. Imagining I am using it in office, some odd meetings, I may flip the pen on table, or, someone might lend it for use. It may be very difficult to keep it pristine. I went to buy Lamy studio and was amazed looking at its beauty. But then I realised it cannot be my EDC for how premium it is. Does any one of you also has the same conflict going on in the mind for premium pens like Studio? Happy to hear.

One of the finest pen from the house of LAMY... Nice & minimalistic design, looks good, writes smooth, has nice balance basically it's perfect (in my personal opinion) but I'll suggest not to post the pen cap.
