The Pizza Hut Priazzo is one item that I never forgot about, and they needed to bring it back. Once they got rid of it, I was not interested in Pizza Hut anymore. That was all I wanted my mother to get.
I worked at a Taco Bell back in the late 80s. Not only did it have real beef, it had *fresh* beef. We used to have to cook it daily. We took these big, rectangular containers - I'd call them pots, but they're too shallow. Into the container went fresh ground beef (not frozen), and a big package of seasoning. Unlike some other taco places (looking at you, Del Taco), this did not include oatmeal, just seasoning. We then took a tool that was a long metal handle with a piece of metal on the end that was like a bar that had been bent many times to make a number of parallel bars connected by small bends, kind of like a potato masher, and constantly stirred the beef to cook it up. Everything else was similarly fresh. We fried the shells, shredded the lettuce and cheese, sliced the tomatoes, etc. The only things that came in cans were olive slices, jalapeno slices, sour cream, guacamole, and sauces. Even the beans were fresh. We used to pressure cook those. That always made me slightly nervous. Nothing like an unskilled, marginally trained high school student operating an industrial pressure cooker....
I worked at a jack in the box in the 80's - and my favorite break meal was the tacos (otherwise known to us workers as mystery meat tacos) I still get them when I get near a jack in the box (none out here in western Kentucky)

-Little Caesers Pizza Stops (IIRC) that carried spaghetti, individual pizzas (named single, double, triple, homerun), etc.
-Little Caesers Mexican Pizza
-Burger King's BK Broiler
-Hardee's 6 Dollar Burger (their best burger in my opinion)
I miss the Wendy's Superbar and Shoney's breakfast bar.
I still miss the Enchrito and the McDLT.
Where is Kenny Roger's Rotisserie chicken in the mid-80"s? Loved that place.
The Frisco burger was around LONG before the early 2000s
That was awesome. 10 outta 10. Now I'm hungry
I liked the Taco Bell seafood salad. It was a good, light offering on a hot summer evening after karate class in a non airconditioned dojo in the Arizona desert. I think about it now and then.
I ate it several times - really liked it. Miss it today. But never heard of it making people sick.
Cool video - you missed two of my all time missed discontinued faves…..Burger Kings ham & cheese from the 70’s THE YUMBO & then of course McD’s McRib !!
Loved the yumbo.
Taco Bell needs to bring back the tostada 😛
For God’s sake yes!
What about the two layered Taco Pizza!! My favorite from Taco Bell
they just did for a limited time
@@brianoconnor7796 🙌🏼👍🏼
My wife and I are going to the states next week and she was so excited to get the enchirito cuz they never had it at Canadian Taco bells. She's going to be crushed
Another place I miss is Frisco Barrito, they had a 3lb BBQ steak and rice burrito on their menu.
I got one! Hardee's had fresh fried chicken. You could get an entire meal including mash potatoes, Mac and cheese, and apple pie. They are winning over KFC customers in my town and I never knew why it didn't last but I got a b on my presentation for speech of class with secret video of how it was prepared😂
Happy for your B.
I didn’t even know that Hardees discontinued the Frisco burger. Admittedly, I don’t go to Hardees very often because the few locations near me are difficult to get to and the service tends to be pretty slow but I really used to like that one.
Another discontinued Hardees item that I REALLY miss were the cinnamon raisin biscuits. Those things were absolutely amazing!
Btw, I worked at a McDonald’s around the time that the McDLT was discontinued, I believe that the Big and Tasty was supposed to be the replacement for it.
Speaking of McDonald’s, does anyone miss the old McDonaldsland cookies?
Hardee's still has the Frisco burgers in Kansas.
Onion nuggets were freaking great!
You can still get a Frisco Burger…
My Taco Bell favorite was the 'Bell Beefer'. I got in every time I went to Taco Bell. I miss it.
One of my favorite local/neighborhood pizza places has a crust choice called a Keystone Crust, which is a double decker crust. Fish was a staple on Fridays during pre-Vatican II times .KFC also got rid of their potato wedges, but if you live where there's a Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken, you can have potato wedges
I'm surprised the hula burger lost. Its pineapple between cheese.
Anyone remember Taco Bell's "chili burger", the Bell Beefer ? They had them in California stores in the late '60s, they were like a taco flavor 'sloppy joe' on a bun with cheese and onions, used to eat lots of those.
As a kid, the Bell Beefer was my favorite at Taco Bell.
I remember
I don’t remember them but I wonder if it was anything like taco John’s taco burger? I used to order them all the time. Was a burger bun with taco meat, and cheese. I miss them, altho I moved long ago to states with no taco John’s, and I don’t think they sell them anymore.
@@csailer2353 Taco John's taco burger and Taco Bell's Bell Beefer were very similar although I preferred Taco Bell's version. Both were really good, though!
KFC has gone so downhill where I live it’s inedible usually. I do remember when they had wedges which were actually flavorful and tasty. Their new fries aren’t bad either though
Yep they are all getting like that not just your location
wonder why it's so bad now?
never had a bad KFC experience
McDonald’s had a patty melt with a rye bun, grilled onions, and cheese sauce. It was amazing…
Those were good!
Really? when was that? nationally available?
@@brianoconnor7796 yeah I forget now how long ago it was, maybe 6 or 7 years back unless they've had them again since idk but it was one of the best things I've ever gotten from McDonald's
i want the chilli cheese burrito back damn you taco bell!
That was my favorite
14:18 The McDLT was my favorite.I wish they would bring it back. The closest thing that I can get now is the cheeseburger at In and Out. 🍔
@@MsJanetWood well, McDonalds has the qtr. Cheese Deluxe now,I think that it's kinda like the McDLT. I worked for McDonalds in the late 70's,all of the 80's & some part of the early 90's,too!
I'm mad that most of these were before my time and that I missed the ones I was alive for!
I miss the Encherito 😋
The Pizza Hut Priazzo is one item that I never forgot about, and they needed to bring it back. Once they got rid of it, I was not interested in Pizza Hut anymore. That was all I wanted my mother to get.
LATE 70S EARLY 80S The Jack burrito. Deep fried deliciousness!!!!
Pizza Hut has had some bangers. I miss most of the stuff they mentioned
I live in Central Florida and the Frisco burger is still available at Hardee's. My favorite burger. 😋😋
When Taco Bell had real beef.
😆IKR!!
And black olives..why would they not have black olives? They were delicious in the Burritos..😊
@stevensauer8539 My first job too 1986
Jack in the box tacos were like cat food in a wet envelope, yet strangely irresistible!
I worked at a jack in the box in the 80's - and my favorite break meal was the tacos (otherwise known to us workers as mystery meat tacos) I still get them when I get near a jack in the box (none out here in western Kentucky)
Good thing you weren't in charge of marketing for Jack in the Box!
@@lisaa8795 , but I said they are irresistible. Doesn’t that make you want one?
@@twincams350 Haha, sorry, no. The cat food in a wet envelope rather turned me off. I remember we ate at Jack in the Box once in awhile when we were kids in the late 60s early 70s though I don't recall the tacos back then. I guess they moved out of our area in the 1980s.
@@lisaa8795 , in that case, don’t knock it till you’ve tried it 😄
I LOVED the superbar!
The enchorito was originally a soft corn tortilla, and then put on a flour tortilla. It was better with the soft corn tortilla.
No it had part corn meal and part flour was why it was a combination corn and flour.
Wow! Patrick Ewing worked at Taco Bell?!?
