Back in August me and my father finally took the trail up Galdhøpiggen, Norways highest mountain. From Juvasshytta it is not the longest or toughest hike in the world, but for some reason it is a hike that have eluded us in the past whenever we made our hiking plans. Now the time has finally come to make it to the summit. In the first episode you could see us arriving Juvasshytta, our starting point. This episode focus on the hike itself. I hope you like the video.

Who needs coffee at the top when you have those memories to look at later...loved the whole trip,well-filmed and narrated...you are lucky to share these trips with your dad!
As long as there is coffee at the bottom :) thanks Neil! Apprecite the kind words. I am lucky indeed!
Beautiful place and you make it seem like there were only you and your father there (just some voicing here and there) 😉
It sure was! That was the plan, try to make it seem we were alone, but that was way harder than it seemed! Hehe
Wow what a beautiful place! Great video man and what an amazing memory to share with your dad. Cheers!
Thanks friends! Appreciate the kindness :)
Wow! 👍
Thank you very much :)
The high five at the top brought tears to my eyes! You won't regret having the video for memories even if it took a bit away from real (coffee) time! What an adventurous Dad and you lucked out on weather too! Truly special.
The coffee was enjoyed in the car back home! 🙂 Thank you for the kind words Juanita! My father says thanks as well! I’m glad you liked it! Have a great weekend.
Hi this was awesome filming. Thanks for sharing this. It's lovely that you're father was together with you. 😊😊😊😉🖐🙏
Many thanks Ruth! Appreciate the kindness :)
This takes me back to when I climbed Galdhoppingen in 1990. On my own, including crossing the glacier, without a guide!😮. I remember still sitting on a rocky outcrop above the glacier, having lunch. No wind! No sound! Just myself in the silence and the vastness of the landscape. A great day, and a happy memory!
That must have been something! Probably loads more ice back then and a safer glacier 🙂
Love your videos & narration mate. Your father is a great man & really positive & inspirational. My father passed away & I’d of loved to have done such things with him. Enjoy the moments you have together in nature & sometimes just sit for a while & take in what’s before you 😃😃😃😃😃
How very kind of you to say so! My father and me really appreciate it. Sorry to hear about your father! I will treasure these hikes and we have gotten better to spend some time taking it all in 🙂 it is important as you say!
Thank you for sharing such as wonderful and personal experience 😊
My pleasure Andrew! Glad you liked it :) have a great weekend!
As always Oddbjørn a wonderful adventure & beautiful filmed with fantastic scenery & a super thing to do with your Dad... the smile on both your faces showed how much you enjoyed it 😊... Many Thanks for taking me along with you... Best Wishes David 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks a lot David. How kind of you to say so. My dad says thanks as well. I hope you get a great weekend!
Great story... 👍👏
is it necessary to have a rope and buckles to cross the glacier or is it possible without it, just with good snow shoes.
Thank you! It is HIGHLY reccomended to cross the glacier with a guide and safety equipment. It’s quite dangerous especially in the summer and before winter! Guided tours go all the time, so it’s not difficult to book a passing.
Lovely to see father and son sharing such an adventure together. This is definitely going on the bucket list…
Definetly worth a visit! Thank you for watching.
Thank you for sharing. Each adventure is so unique, they come with meaning and purpose and all in divine time. ❤🇨🇦 truly admire all you share!
Thank you Michelle! :) appreciate it!

That was fantastic to share your experience on youtube. IT must have been special to do it with your father, after he suggested to go :) Cheers!
Thanks a lot Phil! It was on his bucket list I think! Mine as well come to think of it :) thanks again and have a good weekend!
👏🏔🇳🇴☕️ Nicely done guys!!
Thanks mate :)
Thanks for you and your adventurous dad inviting us along. I enjoyed the journey.
My pleasure mate :)
Its a real privilege coming on these journeys with your dad and you
Thank you very much Paul! Appreciate it. Both from me and my dad!
Amazing, what incredible conditions you had! I love how you guys go out and make these videos together, I keep trying to persuade my own dad to come out with me but haven’t managed it yet. Hopefully one day I’ll get him onto YT too! 😀 Lovely images, I particularly like that glacier one at the end. Sam
Thanks a lot Sam. Keep trying, he can only say no so many times :) Show him one of my videos and tell him my father dares him, hehe! Have a great weekend mate!
@@oddbjrnaustevikfoto I've already shown him a couple! :) I'll keep plugging away, hopefully one day it will happen! You too mate, hope it's a good one! S.
I am really enjoying these adventures with your Dad and this last one especially as it was so spontaneous. You are a great double act.
One thing that intrigues me is the glacier crossing, I appreciate the risk of this walk but you suggest that it is only possible with a guide. Is that a rule or a guideline? In the Alps there is no such restriction to glacier crossing and over here in the UK you can climb Ben Nevis (1344 m) in sandals, shorts & tee-shirt in the middle of winter if you (foolishly) so choose.
Is your country more pro-active in reducing risks than the UK?
Thanks for some great moments and the accompanying images.
Thank you for that Keith! I also think we make a good team, besides when he drives the car I can film 🙂 haha! It is a guideline (I think) but that particular glacier is VERY dangerous and unpredictable, and should by no means be crossed on your own. You can cross glaciers without guides though if you know what you’re doing! I usually try minimize risks whenever I’m dealing with glaciers on my own and try not to cross them if possible 🙂
@@oddbjrnaustevikfoto Thanks take care.
Beautiful video and great shots! What a view and a perfect day, as has been said. What a wonderful country.
Best wishes!
Thank you Markus! I hope you are well mate! Always good to hear from you :)
@@oddbjrnaustevikfoto Thank you! Yes, I'm quite well, I hope you are too!

What great memories you have created for you and your father and those views and images from the summit were stunning. Thank you for sharing your adventure, it truly was wonderful
I’m really glad we finally made it happen, one of this years fondest memories. Thanks for the kind words Scotty!
I love unplanned adventures, and that was a great one! You are lucky to have a father who joins you in these trips. Great images, too!
Yes I am :) Thank you Neil!
It was really a marvellous experience. Impressive filming. I will remember this Monday. As I remember all our trips. I knew you would say « Yes» when I called you. By the way, I already had booked the last room on Juvasshytta before you said Yes😂😂. Dad
So will I buddy! Always say yes 🙂
