this is a pretty good documentary but the narrator tells a lot of lies in regards to Islam saying that the women have cover in front of family and amongst other lies smh

I've been to Saudi Arabia (THRICE), and it's NOTHING like this 1960's British reporter makes it look like. The Arabian region at that time had WAY MORE LAW & ORDER than the west did during that time period. If anything else, they also allow criticism of government policies & law (which has helped them modernize FASTER than ANY REGION in the WORLD).

The Quran has three verses on Women's dress. the only explicit thing is covering ones bosom. Otherwise it is saying to dress modestly.

To be honest, one doesn't take their faith from anyone who regards their selves as knowledgeable on religion so it could be accepted as a religious view, if Muslims across all the world to make something forbidden as permissible that still wouldn't make it permissible, we take our faith from the Quran, and Authentic prophetic accounts, which requires study of the history of that time, understanding the language usefdthat is Arabic, and to have full and proper awareness on the quran, and of course good character, otherwise no Muslim should take it as a religious ruling, it's also important to study these "progressive muslims" backgrounds and ideological affiliations, so it may be assured how safe their judgement is regarding a religious rule.
