I tried it just a few months ago and I did not like it at all. I'd say New Super Lucky's Tale is a MUCH better example of a throwback 3D platformer done right.
The Deadly Premonition series is my favorite game series of all time. Unironically. But I'm drawn to that kind of weirdness and clunk. Love it. Plus, Twin Peaks being my favorite TV show of all time definitely has something to do with it.
I think there is definitely a correlation between digging Deadly Premonition ( almost abbreviated it 😅) & a fondness or possibly even a tolerance for Lynch.
The best description I've heard about Deadly Preminition was from James Stephany Sterling. They made a comparison to Mr. Burns from one of the earlier Simpsons episodes where Dr. Hibbert made the acertain that Mr. Burns was so ridden with illnesses that all these illnesses canceled each other out, so that he comes along as extremely healthy.
Games felt like a challenge. Like the devs were daring you to complete the game (not enjoy it). There are exceptions (Super Mario) but a lot just felt like a test.
I want to come over and sit down and let's play Action 52... but Mom says I need to clean my room so it'll have to be another day. I just noticed how cozy that game room looks from the long shot of it.
It's a bummer you can't come over! The gameroom is kind of barbell shaped. The end where I film is fairly spacious, but the area behind me is pretty narrow. Cozy is a very nice way to put it 😁
For Deadly Premonition you forgot to mention one of the weirdest aspects of the game: the hygiene system. You had to make sure you showered, shaved and brushed your teeth before going out or the NPCs would notice and comment. If you let it go far enough some NPCs would be too disgusted to even talk to you. If you want to play an excellent walking simulator with a great story and actual horror elements, I cannot recommend SOMA highly enough. SOMA has enemies you have to avoid, but you can turn them off so they don't harm you in the options and still unlock all the achievements.
I forgot about that part of Deadly Premonition.... wouldn't you have flies swirling around you if you didn't shower fire a few days?!? I want to play SOMA. I'm waiting on a physical version to come out 😄
@@RNGGamerYT Yeah, you'd get the halo of flies and the "Stinky Agent" penalty, though I'm not really sure what that did other than make some NPCs disgusted. I think it might have affected the amount of money you were paid by the agency, but money was never really an issue for me in the game. Probably gonna have to hope for Limited Run to do a physical of SOMA because I don't think Frictional will do it themselves.
@@Golipillas Never going to happen though. The Dev switched platforms and no other studio is going to bother with it because it was a PS exclusive. Too much hassle for the IP.
Bruh, I remember renting Action 52 when it came out. I was just a child. The building that was a video store still stands. And the terrible memories remain. I was just a child.
Dark Souls. There's really no reason anyone should like this, but it's massive appeal launched fromsoft into its Heights of Awesomeness. Talk about no hand holding. You could play through this whole game without knowing 1/10 of what was going on. The first time I played it I quit when I got to the first bonfire and saw that after all my work I got one point to level up with and no map?. And then it asked me if I wanted to reverse hollowing or Kindle the bonfire and I said f*** this. Why is this game so good, I still don't know to this day, but I love it anyway.
You’ve just described my first (and only) experience with this game. I feel like I’m not part of the Dark Souls club. You’re just supposed to fail and fail until you almost intuitively get a feel for the mechanics. I do not find this enjoyable as I like to see and feel development. Getting my face smashed to pieces repeatedly was not enjoyable.
I can kind of see why you'd expect To the Moon to be bad, but I'm sincerely happy you don't think it is. I love that game so much. I walked up the aisle to "Everything's Alright" and my son was baptised when Sarah's and Jonny's Version of "For River" was playing.
Great video but Francis York Morgan is the best character of all time. This is a true fact. I freaking LOVE to the Moon. It also broke my heart but I also loved everything before it too. Also, you gotta play Rogue Warrior if you want so bad it's good.
I'm actually on the lookout for Rogue Warrior! Francis York Morgan is a 10/10 character... all day. He's absolutely incredible and is one of my favorites, too. . To the Moon has one of the best stories to any game I've ever played
I appreciate the honest opinions you've presented here. This channel feels really genuine, a lot of other gaming channels nowadays just parrot popular opinions online, so yours definitely stands out by being personal. Good job!
Wolverine Origins on 360 was awesome! Bought it for next to nothing based on a bad movie but didn't realise the game itself is the bloodbath every Wolverine fan has ever wanted!
For me, Quest 64. Growing up I just thought it was difficult. It's only when I discovered youtube that I noticed everyone saying the game was straight up terrible but I love it.
To the Moon has a very beautifully written and emotional story. The gameplay may not be impressive, but I watched a full playthrough, and by the end, I shed a tear or two.
Omg yes!! (Just watching the rest of your upload!) "To the moon" broke me!! That was heavy. Everyone should play that, what a gorgeous game. There isnt much gameplay for sure, but its a beautiful piece of story telling. When you discover why he wants to go to the moon, i was gone. He remembered her 😢
@@RNGGamerYT and I agreed, with the game. What they were doing was almost a scam. But *SPOILERS* Even after they tried to erase her, he still remembered. And to know that if if they ever got lost they'd meet on the moon. Anyway, awesome upload, this was a fun one, looking forward to the next!!! 🤘
@jake90052 thanks! I'm really glad you liked the video. Next week's video is going to be a little strange. I've been really sick for the last week. So the video I filmed embraced being ill 😁
As a kid 20 years ago, I regrettably spent my own damn money on Mortal Kombat Special Forces. I never finished it and was recently thinking about seeing it through to the end. Or maybe that's just crazy talk and I should stay far away.
Mafia III. COMPLETELY broken at launch, repetitive, and still far from perfect ... and I absolutely love it. What can I say? Give me a black dude beating the sh*t out of southern racists a**holes in the 60s, and yeah. I can't resist. And that soundrack ... Oh baby.
I do love 3d collect-a-thon platformers, and I also love goofy/adorable games, so A Hat In Time was a pretty easy sell for me. I played it on the Switch and didn't have any of the technical glitches that you did, so that sucks and definitely would take you out of the experience. But as far as what made it so much fun to play, I think it was how satisfying the movement was. You're doing crazy jump/dive combos across the level, and bouncing in place when you aren't. It has a constant sense of motion and energy. The other aspect that made it great was the challenge. Particularly when you got into the DLC stuff. There's nothing more satisfying that beating a challenge that had you stuck, failing over and over until you finally get it. I was not expecting the level of challenge with the cutesy aesthetics, but the game delivered.
I think you may be onto something with the constant sense of motion in A Hat in Time. There's certainly a feeling of alacrity when playing it and maybe that's what made me fall in love with it!
I played To the Moon more than a decade ago and I still remember how much I cried at the end, and about Darkest of Days I wanted so bad to play this game but all AMD cards can`t run it, so my next card was an Nvidia just so I could play it and I really enjoyed that game, for me it is a 7 out of 10. Great video btw.
Thanks so much! It's great to hear that I'm not alone on To the Moon and that you had a similar experience. I had no idea about Darkest of Days not working in all AMD cards... what jank... lol
Man, As a gamer who watches tons of UA-cam Game Reviewers, you are the first that sounds like someone from where im from...The south... Nice to hear a good ole country boy on the gaming scene....Glad i found your channel😀. I fall asleep to AVGN, but i woke up hearing your voice like “who is this?”…Hooked!!
The story and music of Deadly Premonition were the 2 things that made the game amazing for me. Apparently there is a side quest to unlock fast travel, but I didn't do any of the side quests in my first playthrough.
A game that I love that not many people (that I know) have played is Vagrant Story. Objectively it is a really good game with unique combat that was way ahead of its time imo. It just... doesn't really tell you how to play, so if you are picking it up for the first time you are going to think it sucks because the enemy encounters are just ridiculous. Everything just murders you, while it takes forever to kill one of the 5 things in the room to progress. You can scrape by when its just bats and rats, but once you start facing soldiers? I am positive this is where everyone gave up and said f*ck this game! I mean... it is a Squaresoft game after all, so I am sure it sold fairly well. You just never hear people talk about it, because they almost certainly stopped playing before really figuring out how to.
@@RNGGamerYT I mean it really isn't once you get the mechanics down. The game just doesn't tell you what's up and the internet was still pretty new and not yet widely available. Trial and error'ing it takes forever and all the while you are struggling and dying. So a lot of people just gave up, because thats not fun. Its one of those instances where a more in depth tutorial would have made all the difference.
Some of these games look like fun! But Action 52, oh god. I'm sure you are 100% right about it being a blast with a friend. I played through all of it and lost my will to play any games anymore for some period.
Cool video idea! I'm currently playing Stranger of Paradise: FF Origins, and I find it to be a blast. It's so over the top I can't help but love it; pure camp in the BEST way. Another one I think was better than its reputation was Nostalgia on the DS. It's a pretty basic love letter to Skies of Arcadia (which I haven't played), but I found it to be very cute and surprisingly heartfelt.
I haven't played Skies of Arcadia, but I have an Ex who sure did 😅 I've been curious about Stranger in Paradise. It's just a AAA remake of the 1st game, right?
@@RNGGamerYT Not really. The marketing was pretty bad IMO. It's more of a re-imagined prequel story, with strong ties to the Dissidia stories (which seem to link all of the FF universes). I haven't played the NIOH games yet, but I've heard the community refer to SoP as Nioh 3, so apparently it plays like those games. For me, I'd describe it as a cross between Bloodborne and Diablo, with a crimson splash of Ninja Gaiden. (Nioh, Ninja Gaiden, and SoP all share Team Ninja as developer, so the similar structures make sense).
All the games in to the moon...series? had me crying by the end even though i assumed i was used to them by now, i think the order is to the moon -> finding paradise -> impostor factory
Cool idea for a video! The first game that came to my mind was Inversion on the ps3/360. It’s by no means a great game, it’s clunky, and a little generic, but it had a decent story for a shooter, and the ending really hit me in the feels.
@@RNGGamerYTyeah I doubt anyone played it lol. I was expecting a bad game but was pleasantly surprised. Hope you enjoy it when you get around to playing it!
I'm so glad you brought up to the moon. I played it not long ago and it blew me away at the end. I hadn't heard of it but the girlfriend randomly bought it for me and I was so happy she did. Darkest of days though is only worth playing for the horse puncher achievement!!
@RNGGamerYT liked it? I loved it! You captured what makes gaming so good. I remember playing many games like those back in the 80s and the 90s. Sometimes you just end up enjoying a game because it's so bad, other times it's due to the music or even the levels.
X-Blades for me. I let a friend borrow it and after a couple of days I went to pick it up and he told me, in an slightly angered voice, to never bring "that game" over ever again.😂
Very interesting topic. Why do we like horrible games? Some of my favourite games are Deadly Premonition, Oneechanbara for Xbox360 and the Earth Defense Force games. I guess you can't find objectively worse games but I subjectively love them
Ha fun concept for a video ! Some scary looking games lol literally and figuratively- never played any of em and can’t say the chances are high that I ever will but hey you never know - still a fun video ! 🙌🏾
Shit dude! This video has absolutely taken off. I can only comment on one game and that's gone home and literally everything you said makes perfect sense. All right, it shouldn't be as good as it is but for some reason it works. I think I would compare it a bit to What Remains of Edith Finch. There's nothing super special about that one either, but the storytelling in it makes it something next level. What do we think 10000 by the end of next week?
Thanks for watching! I think I may have learned enough to actually make a half decent video here and there 😅 What Remains of Edith Finch is an amazing game... just remarkable. But, definitely in the camp of Gone Home. There's no way I'll hit 10k in a week. 😅 I would like to do it by April, though
Great video. I never seem to find anyone who was happy with Tony Hawk Downhill Jam. Maybe I got at just the right time, but I played it so so much when the Wii launched. I loved it, beat it, unlocked special characters and beat it again. That was forever ago so now I am doing it again on PS2! Anyone here with me on this??
I knew Deadly Premonition would make the cut buddy lol. I loved that awful game aswell hahaha. That is the only game on your list i have played. But i have some awful one's you can look into bud. 1 is Shellshock 2: Blood Trails on 360 lol and Call of Juarez: The Cartel. I got 1000G on both of them lol. Awesomes video as always buddy :)
Clever video concept. Very entertaining. I dont think A Hat in Time has any place here as it is just a good game. Couldn't agree more about Deadly Premonition though. Oh and I have always hated Gone Home and that is coming from someone who likes visual novels, books, and adventure games. That's probably just a personal preference though.
A Hat it Time was a contentious choice! But, this is a list of my experiences. That's why it's called "That I've Ever Played" and not "Of All Time." I hate 3d platformers. So, A Hat in Time was basically destined to be terrible to me. 🤣 I'm glad you liked the video!
I couldn't finish To the Moon. The writing felt so amateurish, where every character sounded the same, with the same mannerisms, read like stories kids write in high school. Glad to hear the end is strong, I just couldn't make it there.
I can understand Deadly Premonition being on this list and it's very easy to identify it's flaws but is it really hard to see why people like it? Really felt like you didnt get why people do? Keep up the great content and this video reminds me I really need to play To the Moon.
Thanks! That's kind of the point of the video. I don't know why any of these games are as good as they are. It's like missing 80% of the questions on a test and the teacher giving you an A+
Hmmm A Hat in Time is not a game I would consider terrible. It got pretty good reviews on both the critic and user side. I really enjoyed it! Weird you had bugs, I played it on Switch and had no bugs 🤔
@RNGGamerYT very odd to me because it got solid reviews on metacritic on both ends. And I had zero bugs no joke, played through it last year on Switch. Loved the game 🤷♂️
For me I would put Hellpoint. Everyone thinks its wack but to me, its one of the greatest Souls-Like games ever created. Really gave me a sense of isolation like the Original Dark Souls 1 did back when I first played it at launch
Darkest of Days just got removed from Steam so only way to play it is physical and 360 is the only console port. It's very rare and sold out on ebay. Might become a holy grail.
Another great video man. I love terrible games. Ill have to check out dariest of days. Also i love the senran kagura games. They are surpisingly well made fanservice games. Some of my picks for so bad they sre good games are rogue warrior, Bullet Girls Phantsis, ride to hell retribution, Rambo the Game, and Silent Hill Downpour. I also just bought the Walking Dead Survival Instinct as ive hesrd that one is a stinker. Hopefully its s fun time.
To be truthful, I've never really understood the sentiment of "so bad, it's good". As well as other notions such as "guilty pleasures" or "ironic enjoyment". They just seem like such a depressing way to view entertainment media. I'm heavily anti-Sturgeon's law if that wasn't clear. I don't know, to me, every piece of media is flawed in some capacity. But if you can still find aspects to genuinely like despite the issues, shouldn't that be enough in most cases? Then it just becomes a matter of differentiating individual tastes on what qualities appeal to us vs what and how much we can tolerate. A game I like isn't a good game, it just had enough aspects I managed to enjoy. A game I didn't like isn't a bad game, it just didn't have enough aspects I managed to resonate with.
I suggest the Roswell PS1 game, based on the Roswell: Myths, Legends, and Mysteries. It is an underrated show. The game has a feel to it I somehow liked at points. Another that surprised me is the Grinch movie game. I highly recommend that one.
@@RNGGamerYT It is the same name as the show, possibly on a similar engine as the Grinch game: ANOTHER UNDERRATED GAME! I HIGHLY SUGGEST IT!! I was shocked by the depth of that Grinch game. Most tie-in games are TRASH but that one took me by surprise!
@@RNGGamerYT I wish I knew of the TV show when I had the game. I never got to see it, and upon seeing a retrospective, I feel robbed of an opportunity! There are a few gems that came out around that time that either never caught on or just got missed. I am still hoping to find the info of another show of that former category involving aliens and more.
@@RNGGamerYT You are referring to the cartoon, yes? I am familiar with the drama that had Katherine Heigl in her breakout role. That first season was excellent. I actually refer only to the cartoon from the 90s, around the same time as the Carmen San Diego toon.
Me personally, it's gotta be "Zombie apocalypse" on the switch. It can be completed in about a minute and a half. It's so badly made. I can remember my first date with my girlfriend bringing the switch over, and us laughing how bad it was. But we played every campaign. So for that "zombie apocalypse".. you'll always have a place in my heart 🙂🤘
Somehow I knew Deadly Premonition would make an appearance here! I have it in my backlog, but still haven't gotten to it. As a huge fan of Twin Peaks though, I know that I need to give this one a try at some point. I also have Peach Beach Splash, not so much because it was a game I really wanted to play, but because I had the opportunity to pick up the collector's edition (or whatever it's called) at a very cheap price. I'm glad to hear that it is actually a fun game with solid game play. Other than that, maybe I'll give Gone Home or To the Moon a shot at some point. They sound interesting, but I don't currently own either one. Also, I am somewhat intrigued by Darkest of Days. I've never heard of it before, but the premise sounds interesting. I really like the Mark Twain book A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, and this honestly sounds like someone said, how can we turn this book into a mindless fun video game? I may have to keep an eye out for this one so that I can give it a try someday.
You're about to have a blast if you try any of these games! You'll love Deadly Premonition! Darkest of Days has really spiked in price recently... it's getting way harder to find! Thanks for all of your support, brother! 😄
@@RNGGamerYT Ah, I see that now with Darkest of Days, thanks for the tip. I should run out to the local used game stores and see if I can find a copy where they perhaps haven't yet updated to current market prices.
Hang on, people say A Hat in Time is BAD?! That's criminal, tbh. I never had any problems whatsoever with this game. Loved every second of it, actually, especially the metro DLC.
It has about a 75 on metacritic so, the general public seems to find it pretty average. It made this video because I had a preconceived notion that I would hate it. Since it contained all of the gameplay elements I normally don't like, I just knew it would suck. Luckily, it really won me over.
I love that you use the word "jank" I use jank and jankity regularly. Picked the word up from some snowboarding game on the og Xbox (the name escapes me.)
@RNGGamerYT I too kinda fell off of playing but that was due to me only ever playing with my best friends, and adult life gets hectic. Thought of another game I was going to ask you about. Ever heard of the pc game carnivores? The big game dinosaur hunting game.
For me, it is those old Wisdom Tree Bible games for the NES. I realize that by almost any metric, they ‘should’ be terrible. They are cheesy, have slippery controls, and other design flaws. Yet, for some reason, I love them!
I have never heard of that Darkest of Days game. The timing is weird for discovering it, because it reminds me of the Kingmakers trailer that dropped recently. I was thinking to myself while watching the Kingmakers trailer, "I've never seen anything quite like this!" Darkest of Days doesn't look nearly as fun and engaging, but the premise is similar.
Everyone seems to be really pumped for Kingmaker! It definitely looks like the better game, but Darkest of Days is a janky blast if you get the chance to play it.
Hey bro just seen the vid and made me think of a question for you. Have you ever played cronno trigger? Its literally one of my all time favorite games as a teen. Kefka's laugh was cringe but unforgettable. Another great video.
Clicked hoping on deadly premonition being in the video. Score! I get the things people might dislike about this game but it's so weird and unique I just had to play it till the end despite it's shortcomings.
Starfield. While everyone hates it(i still swear a lot of that hate is due to it being a Bethesda/xbox game) i love it. The gameplay is a huge improvement from the fallout games. The ship building is interesting and unique. The writing is good. Its classic Bethesda goodness to me. Its not perfect but i really enjoy it and it deserves better.
If you want a movie that is like Action 52 then perhaps ABCs of Death is a movie for you. It is a short horror/comedy movie compilation, one short movie for each aphabet, full of WTF moments. H is for Hydro-Electric Diffusion was my favourite from that movie with WW2 furries.
@@RNGGamerYT Soulstice couldn't get out of its own way. literally. that camera was is so awful. a lot of little annoying things in that game kept it from being S tier. Black Book was one of those super indie free epic games last year. card based combat, terrible graphics but it kept stringing me along.
So many sports games could have made this list. It's really sad how much of my life I wasted playing really bad hocky games... and loved every minute of it 😂
@@RNGGamerYT Yes but fortunately it was my friends game so I was limited on the self imposed masochism. Best - worst for me was Ice Hockey on the original Nintendo. The super skinny players were the best for offense and a fat guy for defense.
My first 'Best Terrible Game' made me create a whole genera for them in my head I call them ''Good But Crap'' That game was Holy Magic Century (Quest 64)
SwordMaster on the NES!... Me and my brother played the HELL out of it, loved the atmosphere.. Total Nintendo magazine (which I subscribed to) gave it 9% ! The lowest score they ever gave I think
First off I understand why you like that game with the girls LOL second off at my local video game store one of the employees would try to push Deadly Premonition on to anybody that would listen even random super ridiculously casual gamers or moms that might be there to buy their children games and the game was going for like $45 used for a 360 game that came out 15 years ago I always thought that was super weird
I own Hello Kitty Roller Rescue and Britney's Dance Beat for PS2 and Bibi & Tina at the Horse Farm for PS5 No idea why, but they were all dirt cheap and brand new in original wrapping.
There is a new anime called Shangri-La Frontier, the main character is addicted to crappy, broken, trash tier games. But decides to try the hottest new AAA game for a change and winds up being super OP because he applies his skills at finding cheats and exploits from his trash tier gaming addiction.
I've played all of the games on the list that released on PC. I tried Deadly Premonition as a friend recommended as it is pretty much Twin Peaks: The Game. It has all the faults you mention, but it still sucked me in and I had a blast with it. To The Moon hit me with all the feelings at the end, despite the frustrations I had with the game up until that point. A Hat In Time was probably the game I enjoyed the most out of all the games - I was probably lucky that I didn't have any of the major bugs and so was able to enjoy the game for what it was without that side of things. Maybe the PC port fixed some of the issues with earlier versions of the game.
You sound like you have great taste in games! I'm glad we enjoyed so many of the same things. I think the Switch version of A Hat in Time was the buggiest of them all.
Darkest of days! Damn it. I wanna play that too. My feelings against Xbox are shifted because of you man. Always great content!! Happy to see your channel is growing. Keep up the good work
Kitty Powers Matchmaker has average scores but I used to be addicted to it. I bought it for couple of hours worth of drunk fun but the game was surprisingly good for my taste and I played it every day for several months. 😅
Darkest of Days rocks! I played it late last year and while i did play it for the 1000G, i wanted to get it since its getting increasingly harder to get. I remember seeing an ad for it in a 2009 xbox 360 magazine and it interested me ever since lol
if you liked darkest of days, there's a new game called kingmakers coming out which is similar in premise but it's on the Unreal Engine 5, the trailer is hilarious
OK, Deadly Premonition is a MASTERPIECE, is a game that was made that way on purpose, i mean, if it was a movie, it would have been just as weird, as for the technical aspects a) that game was really made for the ps2 and the orginal xbox, i think that what sweary65 achieved with the town and stuff is highly detailed and complex for those consoles, and you got to remember that b) making games for the 360 and the ps3 was SUPER EXPENSIVE, the true triple A started with those consoles and basically broke and left out of the busines, especially in japan, those games, that´s why the western PC gaming took over gaming and consoles, for the japanese middleware and indie was too expensive, so they ported what they had.... Deadly Premonition is amazing on it´s concept, details and overall it´s style, is really a psychodelic mystery adventure game
I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about A Hat In Time
I've heard so many bad things..... it has about a 75 or so on Metacritic. I think that's pretty low, and it deserves better.
I honestly couldn't get into A Hat in Time at all.
@B33FY2011 a lot of people couldn't!

It really should be an objectively bad game. I'm surprised every day that it won over so many peoplr
Those are fantastic pieces to use! I'm so glad that To the Moon meant so much to you!
Nice video! I appreciate the varied roundup.
Thanks! I really appreciate that!
I appreciate the honest opinions you've presented here. This channel feels really genuine, a lot of other gaming channels nowadays just parrot popular opinions online, so yours definitely stands out by being personal. Good job!
Thanks! These really are my personal opinions. I don't have anything to prove to anyone. I just want to share the games I love with everyone
Wolverine Origins on 360 was awesome! Bought it for next to nothing based on a bad movie but didn't realise the game itself is the bloodbath every Wolverine fan has ever wanted!
I had no idea either!
RNG lovin the content lately man. U seem so real n I love n respect that. Cya Sunday night for another happening stream, sir.
You liked the video!?! I was really concerned everyone would hate this one.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday
"Darkest of days" sounds like someone saw Time splitters and said "let's do that... But not good"
Lol... you gave me a real laugh! Thanks for that!
For me, Quest 64. Growing up I just thought it was difficult. It's only when I discovered youtube that I noticed everyone saying the game was straight up terrible but I love it.
This is one I've never played. I should go pick up a copy
It's brutal but really fun. One of the first brutal JRPG types I remember. When using items and rationing them truly mattered in an rpg.
@jessem3149 I'm going to have to go pick it up... 😅
That smile that formed slowly while enjoying a game everyone hates in the beginning of your video was hilarious 😂
I'm glad you liked that part!
To the Moon has a very beautifully written and emotional story. The gameplay may not be impressive, but I watched a full playthrough, and by the end, I shed a tear or two.
Couldn't have said it better myself!
Not to mention the music! The music is so beautiful as well!
To the Moon is a total NON-game.
@PigeonPlucker it kind of is
Omg yes!! (Just watching the rest of your upload!) "To the moon" broke me!! That was heavy. Everyone should play that, what a gorgeous game. There isnt much gameplay for sure, but its a beautiful piece of story telling. When you discover why he wants to go to the moon, i was gone. He remembered her 😢
He remembered her...
@@RNGGamerYT and I agreed, with the game. What they were doing was almost a scam. But *SPOILERS*
Even after they tried to erase her, he still remembered.
@@RNGGamerYT hope you feel better soon!! See you at the next one!
Best video game channel I've found in years. Thank you for the great videos. Keep it up!
Thank you so much! You have no idea how much your words mean to me 😄
As a kid 20 years ago, I regrettably spent my own damn money on Mortal Kombat Special Forces. I never finished it and was recently thinking about seeing it through to the end. Or maybe that's just crazy talk and I should stay far away.
That's a truly terrible game from everything I've seen! Sorry that was the first game you bought 😅
A Hat In Time was amazing
It really was!
Mafia III. COMPLETELY broken at launch, repetitive, and still far from perfect ... and I absolutely love it. What can I say? Give me a black dude beating the sh*t out of southern racists a**holes in the 60s, and yeah. I can't resist. And that soundrack ... Oh baby.
Sounds like a great time! I need to get into the Mafia games
Mad Max on the PS 4 is one I ended up loving. It is a little repetitive but deserves more credit than it got. I also enjoyed A Hat In Time.
I completely missed out on Mad Max. It's hard to find now....
Thanks for watching!
Love your channel! Just found it and I'm now going through every video. Great content!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that
Action 52 is like going fishing, it's way better after a few beers 😁
Haha, truer words have never been said 😆
That tracks, because fishing sober is awful to me.
I'm glad to hear that! Yeah, I'm definitely from the south! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
The story and music of Deadly Premonition were the 2 things that made the game amazing for me. Apparently there is a side quest to unlock fast travel, but I didn't do any of the side quests in my first playthrough.
The story, music, and general atmosphere are what pushed this game into masterpiece territory for me as well!
I actually have Vagrant Story! It's in my backlog to play. I had no idea that it was difficult at all 😅
@@RNGGamerYT I mean it really isn't once you get the mechanics down.
Great video, i subbed!
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that! 😄
Great video 🤘🏻
Thanks so much! I really appreciate you watching
Some of these games look like fun! But Action 52, oh god. I'm sure you are 100% right about it being a blast with a friend. I played through all of it and lost my will to play any games anymore for some period.
Lol! Like someone mentioned, Action 52 is like fishing. It's better after a few beers 😆
I haven't played Skies of Arcadia, but I have an Ex who sure did 😅
I've been curious about Stranger in Paradise.
@RwnEsper that's fascinating. The marketing for this game was terrible
All the games in to the moon...series? had me crying by the end even though i assumed i was used to them by now, i think the order is to the moon -> finding paradise -> impostor factory
I didn't even realize it was part of a series! I'll have to go check out the others
Gone Home was a decent palette cleanser. I Am Alive was janky and felt unfinished, but I still completed it. God knows why.
Haha. I haven't even tried I Am Alive... maybe I should
Cool idea for a video! The first game that came to my mind was Inversion on the ps3/360. It’s by no means a great game, it’s clunky, and a little generic, but it had a decent story for a shooter, and the ending really hit me in the feels.
I just picked it up a few months ago! When i saw it in the store, I had completely forgotten that it existed!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
The horse punching achievement is the hardest one to get in the game 😆
Your girlfriend sounds like she has great taste in games!
@@RNGGamerYT Yeah it took me way more attempts than I'd like to admit.
I can't lie she has got me some awesome games over the years
Love your videos!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that
This was a killer list 👍 love hearing about so called bad games that end up just being a fun time.
Thanks so much! I'm thrilled you liked the list
This is a perfect example of what I'm talking about! I beat X Blades a couple of times 😁
Mine is Ryse: Son of Rome. It got pretty bad reviews, but it's literally one of my favorite games. It's even better on a really good PC
I played it and beat it. That's a great choice!
@@RNGGamerYTThank you, buddy. Love the channel
@ericross441 that makes me so happy! Thank you
Very interesting topic. Why do we like horrible games? Some of my favourite games are Deadly Premonition, Oneechanbara for Xbox360 and the Earth Defense Force games. I guess you can't find objectively worse games but I subjectively love them
I love all of those, too! I just turned my daughter on to EDF. She did a great job pf a 9 year old!
Ha fun concept for a video ! Some scary looking games lol literally and figuratively- never played any of em and can’t say the chances are high that I ever will but hey you never know - still a fun video ! 🙌🏾
Most people haven't played any of these 😅 I'm so glad you liked the video. Thanks for being a channel member, it's always nice to give you a shoutout
I laughed the entire “action 52” section, I needed that 😂 thankyou
I'm so happy I could make you laugh!
I think I may have learned enough to actually make a half decent video here and there 😅
What Remains of Edith Finch is an amazing game... just remarkable. But, definitely in the camp of Gone Home.
There's no way I'll hit 10k in a week. 😅 I would like to do it by April, though
Did you hear that Zach?! Our game got mentioned! Hmmm...I don't know. The "Devil's Sandwich" isn't as tasty when we make it home, either. Fair point!
Haha! Such great writing
@@RNGGamerYT THANKS!
I forgot that game existed... 😅
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
A hat in time was designed to be that way! Like a throwback to the old PS1/n64 3d platformers
Yeah! But it wasn't designed to bug out on you. I also hate 3D platforming collectathons... and it still managed to win me over
I knew Deadly Premonition would make the cut buddy lol.
Thanks, man! I'm actually on the hunt for the call of Juarez games
@@RNGGamerYT There not bad buddy but cartel was the worst of them all look up the reviews. But for some reason i love it lol. Its so bad its good :D
@davpreec I'm pumped to try it. Apparently Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is supposed to be awesome
@@RNGGamerYT Yeah i enjoyed Gunslinger its more like an arcade shooter than the others buddy. Its super fun :)
I'm glad you liked the video!
hahaha! "The first thing its missing?....Levels!" That got me good :-D That, and the 'Darkest Days Road Trip Origin'. heh!,......I could see it.. lol
I'm glad you enjoyed those! All of my stuff is unscripted, so those were improvised comments 😆
I couldn't finish To the Moon. The writing felt so amateurish, where every character sounded the same, with the same mannerisms, read like stories kids write in high school. Glad to hear the end is strong, I just couldn't make it there.
That's EXACTLY how I felt. They really do turn it all around at the end. Maybe give it another shot one day😄
I can understand Deadly Premonition being on this list and it's very easy to identify it's flaws but is it really hard to see why people like it? Really felt like you didnt get why people do? Keep up the great content and this video reminds me I really need to play To the Moon.
Thanks! That's kind of the point of the video.
I don't know why any of these games are as good as they are. It's like missing 80% of the questions on a test and the teacher giving you an A+
Hmmm A Hat in Time is not a game I would consider terrible. It got pretty good reviews on both the critic and user side. I really enjoyed it! Weird you had bugs, I played it on Switch and had no bugs 🤔
Dude! It was so buggy that it barely worked.
Also, in the comments, people HATE this game
@RNGGamerYT very odd to me because it got solid reviews on metacritic on both ends. And I had zero bugs no joke, played through it last year on Switch. Loved the game 🤷♂️
@RetroWolf88 it also made my list because I hate 3D platformer collectathons 🤣
For me I would put Hellpoint. Everyone thinks its wack but to me, its one of the greatest Souls-Like games ever created. Really gave me a sense of isolation like the Original Dark Souls 1 did back when I first played it at launch
I had to go look up this one, as I had never heard of it before. It actually looks really intriguing to me 😁
Darkest of Days just got removed from Steam so only way to play it is physical and 360 is the only console port. It's very rare and sold out on ebay. Might become a holy grail.
I've been saying this would happen for years!!! 😆
Me too! I loaded up on copies when they were $10-15 each lol
@warehousedave7937 smart!
This was a fun video. Maybe Guilty pleasers next?
That's not a bad idea for a video! I'll see if I can get a list together
I love Deadly Premonition!! Also it took me 1 hour to get through this video became I played the Senren Kagura section like 20 times on repeat...
Ahhh... a man of culture, I see!!!
Those are all terrible games! I actually beat Bullet Girls Phantasia...
A few of these are in the backlog! Thanks for watching!
Who played Deadly premonition 2? I did lol
I want to play it so badly!
It's just a way for people to support their reasoning for enjoying something that I'd objectively bad!
I suggest the Roswell PS1 game, based on the Roswell: Myths, Legends, and Mysteries. It is an underrated show. The game has a feel to it I somehow liked at points.
Another that surprised me is the Grinch movie game. I highly recommend that one.
I had no idea they made a game about the Roswell TV show! I'll be on the lookout for it!
@residentgrey my dad watched Roswell pretty regularly. I remember him liking it a lot
Haha, that's awesome. Sounds like an incredible first date!
I picked it up from Magic the Gathering!
@@RNGGamerYT I love MTG
@@Calibidious I did, too. For many years
@RNGGamerYT I too kinda fell off of playing but that was due to me only ever playing with my best friends, and adult life gets hectic. Thought of another game I was going to ask you about. Ever heard of the pc game carnivores? The big game dinosaur hunting game.
@Calibidious things do get more complicated as an adult 😆 I feel like I have a vague recollection of Carnivores
Never seen a video on this topic before🎉🎉🎉
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
For me, it is those old Wisdom Tree Bible games for the NES. I realize that by almost any metric, they ‘should’ be terrible. They are cheesy, have slippery controls, and other design flaws. Yet, for some reason, I love them!
I grew up with them! They have a fond place in my heart
@@RNGGamerYT me too! Really fond memories. Spiritual Warfare, King of Kings, Bible Adventures…I love them!
@nealdavis7276 😁
I have never heard of that Darkest of Days game. The timing is weird for discovering it, because it reminds me of the Kingmakers trailer that dropped recently. I was thinking to myself while watching the Kingmakers trailer, "I've never seen anything quite like this!"
Darkest of Days doesn't look nearly as fun and engaging, but the premise is similar.
Everyone seems to be really pumped for Kingmaker! It definitely looks like the better game, but Darkest of Days is a janky blast if you get the chance to play it.
Darkest of days was what I thought of when I just watched the kingmakers trailer
Everyone has been going on about Kingmaker! It seems really awesome.
Hey bro just seen the vid and made me think of a question for you. Have you ever played cronno trigger? Its literally one of my all time favorite games as a teen. Kefka's laugh was cringe but unforgettable. Another great video.
I've beaten Chrono Trigger before. But I'm going to play it again. It's in the backlog
I'm glad you liked the video 😁
Clicked hoping on deadly premonition being in the video. Score! I get the things people might dislike about this game but it's so weird and unique I just had to play it till the end despite it's shortcomings.
It's definitely the best example of a game like this. I love it
A fantastic choice!!! As long as you love the game, what else matters? 😁
Lol... what!?!
The Sinking City, Soulstice and Black Book were games i constantly asked myself why i was still playing them but boy i just had to see the end
I have Sinking City, but soulstice is one I've been curious about. Glad to hear you like it.
Black Book is totally new to me
@@RNGGamerYT Soulstice couldn't get out of its own way. literally. that camera was is so awful. a lot of little annoying things in that game kept it from being S tier.
Black Book was one of those super indie free epic games last year. card based combat, terrible graphics but it kept stringing me along.
So many sports games could have made this list. It's really sad how much of my life I wasted playing really bad hocky games... and loved every minute of it 😂
Did you play Mutant League Hockey!?!
@@RNGGamerYT Yes but fortunately it was my friends game so I was limited on the self imposed masochism. Best - worst for me was Ice Hockey on the original Nintendo. The super skinny players were the best for offense and a fat guy for defense.
@ObjectiveEthics it's still fun! ! I played it just a couple of years ago 😁
My first 'Best Terrible Game' made me create a whole genera for them in my head
I call them ''Good But Crap''
That game was Holy Magic Century (Quest 64)
Quest64 has gotten quite a few mentions. I haven't played it yet
That hat in time glitch is hilarious, really glad it never happened to me when I played it
I've never seen anything like that in any other game!
Played A Hat in Time on PS4. Didn't have any issues that affected my enjoyment. Maybe the port to Switch is the issue.
@Andrew_TS I wish I had played it on the PS4
@@Andrew_TS I played it on Switch so I can confirm it isn’t a universal issue with the port, or even the cartridge
SwordMaster on the NES!... Me and my brother played the HELL out of it, loved the atmosphere..
Total Nintendo magazine (which I subscribed to) gave it 9% !
The lowest score they ever gave I think
Really!?! I had no idea it was so low. I've played a bit of it. Maybe one day I'll actually find a copy somewhere for not a crazy price
That guy does sound super weird! But at least he was onto something
I own Hello Kitty Roller Rescue and Britney's Dance Beat for PS2 and Bibi & Tina at the Horse Farm for PS5
No idea why, but they were all dirt cheap and brand new in original wrapping.
Those...sound...terrible... 😆
Two Worlds. One of the jankiest RPGs in existence, but the voice acting and dialogue are glorious. It's like aliens trying to recite Shakespeare.
I'm so surprised to see this game getting some love in the comments!
I love the deadly premonition games ! Super charming and fun! I loved skipping rocks for hours ... 😂
It really is an incredible game!
There is a new anime called Shangri-La Frontier, the main character is addicted to crappy, broken, trash tier games. But decides to try the hottest new AAA game for a change and winds up being super OP because he applies his skills at finding cheats and exploits from his trash tier gaming addiction.
That actually sounds hilarious! Thanks for telling me about it.
Keep up the good work
Thanks so much, man! I really appreciate that
Kitty Powers Matchmaker has average scores but I used to be addicted to it. I bought it for couple of hours worth of drunk fun but the game was surprisingly good for my taste and I played it every day for several months. 😅
Lol... that's a perfect example of exactly what I was talking about
Firewatch is the best
" walking simulator "
It's a great walking simulator!!! 🤣
I played the hell out of Conan on 360 and Alone in the Dark. Two Worlds is also up there as a favorite.
I haven't played ANY of those games! But I'm familiar with them all.
I kind of want to give them all a shot 😁
I approve of your man of culture pick, Senran Kagura ❤
I'm cultured AF
@@RNGGamerYT 😜
Darkest of Days rocks! I played it late last year and while i did play it for the 1000G, i wanted to get it since its getting increasingly harder to get. I remember seeing an ad for it in a 2009 xbox 360 magazine and it interested me ever since lol
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Still haven't met anyone who didn't play it initially for the gamerscore 😆
if you liked darkest of days, there's a new game called kingmakers coming out which is similar in premise but it's on the Unreal Engine 5, the trailer is hilarious
I just checked it out! It looks insane
Gone Home is a gem
It really is a gem!
I was sad that we didn't get to see that much more stuff from Swery! I was really liking his games!
I agree, it's a masterpiece!
