    Nice video! Excellent editing which made the video move along and keep the viewer interested! I like the idea of synthetic materials because they don't absorb the water and become too heavy to cast. I like to pike fish and I can see how the same approach could be used to make flies twice as long!

    Been tying for 15 years and never subbed a tying channel until now!Your instruction is excellent as well as production quality and the patterns are new and fun!

      Many thanks! I am glad you have enjoyed the videos. I certainly take my time producing them and try to keep them short and quick after they are edited. I kinda got sick of the 15minute fly tying videos and decided it was time to put out HD videos that show you the steps you need in a quick, easy to follow manner.

      Many thanks. Glad you liked the fly. That was a tough one to film actually. Lots of steps to cover in a short time.

    Do you have any issues with Loon Thick not curing completely? Mine is usually really tacky even if I hit it with a light then sit it outside.

      Chase Freeman I use the loon infinity light now and that zaps it really well.

    ALERT! Hi Jesse, hope I caught your attention. I don't fly fish for bones, nor trout. But I am one of the guys who crappie fish and tye my jigs and don't live bait fish. I haunt sites like yours, and take your ideas to apply to crappie jigs 1/32 to 1/8 oz. Can you advise the hook size and dimensions of your finished jig? I really want to turn your bonefish jig into a crappie jig.

    Looking for advice! I am a decent fly fisherman, but have never saltwater fly fished. This thanksgiving my family and I are headed down to Casey Key FL and I plan on getting into the saltwater game. There are some jetties and some intercoastal water that should be easy for me to fish and from what I have read my main target species will most likely be snook. Any fly recommendations or just advice in general?

      Just got back from Florida. If you ever go again. White fluke patterns. Green back patterns. Or a white with black top bait fish. Got my first fish on a bait fish fly that I tied. Was a Snook. Was killer!

    Hey how do I prevent these flies from trapping air bubbles and floating? I tied a few from this great video but they float like crazy. What do I need to do to fix or prevent this?

    • @BackwaterFlyFishing
      @BackwaterFlyFishing  4 роки тому +1

      Dave Narr I am not sure. That is not a problem I have had. I would try getting it wet prior to casting and making sure it stays wet

      You might be using too many fibers when you tie them... Slim the flies down.

      I put a couple drops of xink on mine to help it break the surface tension.

      Yes. You can stack SF as well but it will give a slightly different look and action.

    Tying in bunches of material moving progressively along the shank is not stacking!!!
