Hi guys! Finally updating you all with an end of summer garden tour and harvest, along with sharing a few things I’ve planted for fall! Leave a comment down below and let me know how your garden is doing as well😊🌱
Hi Alley, (sorry if I misspelled your name). I’m so frustrated. For the last two years I grew patio baby eggplants without any problems or work. They were very prolific, and just kept producing beautiful eggplants that were big and very tasty. This year, I wanted to grow the regular sized eggplant called Black Beauty, and I only got one eggplant even though the plant grew and produced flowers. The problem though, is the flowers kept dropping off. Then I was having problems with the leaves developing issues. I sprayed the leaves which seem to help, but the flowers still kept dropping even though the plant grew beautiful leaves. Your eggplants looked fantastic! I’m so unhappy about mine. I didn’t grow from seed. The plant was healthy, and it seem to thrive. But after the one eggplant I got, I haven’t gotten another to even form. Can you give me some insight.
Hi Karen! Thanks for your comment! Sorry to hear yours didn’t do so well this year. The variety I grew was also black beauty, and I’ve grown it three times but this year was by far the most prolific for me. I used a larger sized container than previous years and I found the plant almost doubled in size, allowing for more blooms and fruit to grow. In other years, I’ve only gotten about 3-4 eggplants at most. I think the larger container with more space really helped the plant overall. Eggplant can grow quite large when it’s given the space to do so. With that being said, I did have some blossoms drop off my plant too, when I was experiencing a heatwave. Usually the blossoms will drop when the plant is stressed, sometimes from too much heat and high temperatures, or inconsistent watering. I also started my plant from seed, which I highly recommend. Even when I’ve purchased transplants myself (tomatoes or peppers) I’ve found I never get as much fruit as when I grow it myself from seed. Also, the last thing I’d recommend is to fertilize your plants regularly. I use an organic slow release fertilizer and apply it every few weeks. Hope that helps a little! Happy growing ☺️✨
Amazing looking garden and so prolific! Everything you grow is totally perfect. I'm in central IN and in zone 6 A. It's strange how far south I am from you but the same growing season. Thanks for sharing the great garden videos!

Aww thank you!! 😊✨
Perhaps a helpful tip for growing plants is to ascertain whether you are facing north, south, west or east. Maybe it doesn't matter where you are!
