WELL DONE. An excellent and thorough presentation. I have a question for you. I have SEVERAL monthly trips on Celebrity planned from Tampa to New Orleans, Mexico and Grand Cayman on a supported ship. Am I able to turn GIGSKY off when in port and use my T-Mobile plan so as not to use GIGSKY minutes/bytes? You made this look simple and I am VERY IMPRESSED by your smooth delivery.
Thank you for your compliments! In regards to going on shore and using T-Mobile, yes you can just switch your phone back to your primary SIM when you have T-Mobile. Then once you get back on the ship and it has sailed out of cell range, you can switch back to your GigSky SIM. Have a great time on your cruises!
I am cruising in a few weeks and I was wondering what Gigsky "cellular at sea" speeds would be like. It sounds reasonable based on your first hand information. I have used Gigsky on land in the past with great success, so will definitely give it a try on my cruise ship! Thanks for your unbiased review and promo code.
My phone isn’t paid off so I cannot use this service. Thank. You for a posting a good video. I would recommend losing the background music though. It’s distracting especially on a how to type video where you’re reviewing or teaching someone how to do something.
Hi I plan to try this eSIM in my coming MSC 7 days Bahamas cruise. Just a question here. When I am at sea I need to turn off airplane mode & my T-Mobile cellular plan and turn on Gigsky cellular plan to use? Am I correct? Thanks
I was wondering what the reception was like in different parts of the ship. Were you able to use it in your cabin? Were there parts of the ship where there was no signal?
I was able to use it in all parts of the ship (cabin, buffet, dining rooms, the various lounges). Did not notice anywhere that it was weak or not working.
No since GigSky is bought with only so many gigabytes of data, streaming would burn through that pretty quick. I am pretty sure any streaming service would work.
Netflix will likely work but the best thing to do is download some netflix to a tablet or laptop before your trip, then you can enjoy on airplane or on cruise with no need of using data and no worries of buffering. That is what I do. Another option is to put some on a USB stick also and *maybe* you'll be able to play those on a cabin/hotel tv.
i want to buy a contact sensor for my door - for safety purposes, i can see if someone enters my room on the app. so to work the sensors can i use it with gig sky? i imagine i have to buy 2 gig sky plans? one for my phone and one for the sensor? maybe unless i use a travel router??
@karenlei8742 if you are only going to monitor your room while on the ship, you can connect the sensor and your phone to the ship WiFi. You will need to buy a WiFi plan that allows two devices.

@DBR00 thank you for the suggestion of removing the background music. I appreciate your opinion.

If you are on the ship and not 12 miles out, couldn't you still possibly connect to the land based network that GigSky has access to in that country?
Yes, if you are still within range of the land-based cellular tower, you can absolutely use GigSky to connect to that service.
did you try to netflix with gig sky?

Wait, what ship were you on? Are you saying that the Internet on this is the same speed as the one that the ships provide us for $20 a day or whatever
I was on the Island Princess. Each ship is different but there are times when the ship’s wifi is very very slow.
