    Beautiful car in an elegant color combo. These were basically short limo's. My father had a blue '66 Sedan DeVille. These cars ride so smoothly and powerful. This is when Cadillac's look regal.

    The 1966 Fleetwood Brougham is my favorite car. Understated elegance. This one has the beige Dartmoor interior.

    Always liked the '66 Sedan... Grandma had a '66 Fleetwood dark blue I used to stare at as a child...Mom drove a '66 Sedan a short while the same cream color...brings back alot a nice memories

    Loved this vintage. Very refined. Variable-ratio steering was very nimble, real wood. Just the best cruiser of the era IMO mainly because neither the Lincoln or the Imperial had the COMBINED refinements of the Sixty-Special Brougham. The interior was the quietest of the three for sure!

    50 years ago, in 1973, the very first car I drove was a 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. It was silver with a black interior, NJ license plate number YLV 987. It was the car in which I learned to drive. It was the first car I ever owed and you never forget your first car. I purchased it from my dad when I got my first driver's license. I still have a couple of photos of it. I have extremely fond memories of it. I thank you for posting this. It makes my memories of the car that much more vivid.

    My step-dad had a dark blue one of these with matching dark blue interior. Still remember that huge back seat as a kid. What an interstate cruiser Yup.

    The 66 GMs were my favorite. To me, they are the apex in design

    Really nice Cadillac. I owned a 1973 back in the late 70s early 80s. Best riding car I have ever experienced. Thanks for posting.

    This is what they call an "unintentional ASMR" video.
    Downloaded for my nostalgic relaxation.

    I am just blown away, what a magnificent and beautiful piece of machinery. If I had kids I would give up my first born and my left testicle for the chance just to sit in it.

      Thank you kindly, Joe. It's not often anymore that we can find a low-mileage original paint car that seems to have spent most of its life in a bubble.

    Those seats were actually a cloth but you could still spill A&W chili dog and root beer all over them and it'd wipe right up before it soaked in. GM got that part right.

    It looks so much better than the plastic they used in the interiors later on

    This is my favorite year Caddy. One question. If this was top of the line. Why only one mirror on drivers side door. ? Seems like they should of had 2...nice car though
    good luck

    • @robk9685
      @robk9685 3 роки тому +1

      Should "have". Anyway, the right side mirrors weren't needed yet because there were only 2 lane roads at the time. The left side mirror was for Grams to blot her lipstick as there were no lighted visor vanity mirrors yet.

      Back in the day almost everything was ordered separately on a spec sheet and many things we take for granted were optional. There were no “convenience group” or “safety group” packages, even on Cadillacs. A car like this would have been optioned out by a customer or a buyer at a dealership, and as humans with limited perspective they might have thought the right side mirror was a useless appendage that spoiled the lines of the car at an unnecessary cost of $35 or whatever. That’s why we find weirdly optioned cars from that era with power steering but no power brakes, or a tape deck but no glovebox door. It wasn’t until the Japanese took over the American car market that Detroit finally started offering fully equipped cars as standard.

    • @robk9685
      @robk9685 3 роки тому +1

      @@BillLaBrie I special ordered an '84 Cutlass with every option including the $44 lamp monitors on the hood and the nearly $1,000 power sunroof.....but forgot to order power locks. Oh well, no biggie as it was a 2 door.

    • @robk9685
      @robk9685 3 роки тому +1

      @@BillLaBrie ...but funny as I work for a major auto manufacturer. There's a metal pedal option available on one of the trim levels. Out on the line I said, "The metal pedals are a $29.99 option but you have to order the $3,000 Sun & Fun Package in order to get them".

    Wonderful car. Hoping to own a '66 or '67 Eldorado convertible one day. Um, stop means to cease motion, not just slow down. You never once came to a complete stop at any of the stop signs except the first one.
