Me: **notices there's a new video about the V4 RC car**
Day: **gets extremely better**
lmao right!!!!
Also noticed the dog getting scared at 8:00
He speaks right out of my soul here in a german fkn village :D
@@corbansommers5783 🐕 AAH, I'm out of here, this thing is too crazy 😜
😂
thats damn true

@frAMKfurt your so negative
@frAMKfurt if you have no proof video that your better shaddapp please 😁
I actually like how the scale of the car is somewhat representative of reasonable performance.
Part of modifying and improving isn't being able to have the ultimate performance right out of the gate.
Real cars are a compromise and it's nice to see small improvements over time.
Man at the end that thing looked like it would be very fast on a straight course. Thanks for the update.
Please tell me you haven't given up on the mini-supercharger? Perhaps a different design, like a positive displacement blower? Could make for some really interesting machining. Either way, love the videos! :D
I haven't, and yes it's going to be a positive displacement supercharger. I just don't know exactly when it's going to happen :)
@@johnnyq90 I can't wait for the mini supercharger sounds, gonna be juicy.
@@johnnyq90 you think a good old turbo would work too? or would it not spool up enough?
@@autumnx3416 nitro cars are on and off throttle constantly quick braps gear/crank driven gives nasty throttle response which makes a slow car fun
What about an electric motor driven supercharger?
Imagine if Stewart little was real, this would be so sick
Stuart Littles eco-friendly he only drives Electric he might go for hybrid but he definitely likes the Tesla acceleration
Slowyata for real that’s why you do acid
If Runaway Ralph saw this thing, He'd have an aneurysm.
He is real, what do you mean?
You would likely see a news that a mouse has been dead due to a case of bad drunk driving incident
This is one of the coolest projects on UA-cam right now. The amount of time and engineering required is just mind blowing. Great job.
This is Just incredible. I don't have words.
The sound... Damn... It sounds freaking amazing. Incredible work. Can't wait for the final effect. Keep it up, mate!
6:09 *ITS CARBON FIBER TIME*
like it
I think..there might be some problems when drilling holes in a carbon fiber but i guess that only apply to large application
@@FirstNameLastName-bx6xc actually no it's a really cool material. It only weakens from alot of holes drilled in a line or alot of material being removed. Boeing actually rivets pieces together to make the wings
I can see that main sheet of metal of the chassis being replaced by carbon fiber. It would not be too hard to laminate, just lay up sim pre-preg onto a slab of metal, with some release compound, some breather and vacuum it. Then cure it. Maybe you don't even need pressure.
Also, if you do a sheet deep enough, you can machineout (waterjet/ mill, even if eats mill bits like it's butter) all sorts of brackets out of it. Sure, it won't retain all of it's mechanical properties, but it still hold up and it a lot less weight than aluminum
I’ve never commented on a UA-cam video - this feat of engineering is absolutely incredible. Your parents must be so proud. It would be neat to learn more about you and how you came to perfect your craft.
I absolutely admire your determination, coming up with solutions each time, not giving up !
It’s really is amazing! You have the patience of a saint! I don’t think I could keep up all that development. Very impressive, well done man
Trial and error, You'll get it sorted. Also sounds like your lathes bearings/bushings could use some attention. sounds like my old lathe before it gave up the ghost. Judging by the tool chatter and the movement in the stock you're turning.
Open Minded Air Head he does cut some pretty hard stuff on such a small lathe
FINALLY!!!! After all these months of watching..... from engine bench test to enigne bench test. to getting the chassis juuuuuuust right and making alllllll those brackets, slide pins, bearings, clutch bells, those hours and hours of machining and engineering. this has been THE most satisfying channel to watch. I CANT WAIT TO SEE THAT THING RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP
Thank you! keep up the hard work!!!
as someone who doesn't know how to do what you do. . .thank you! massive joy in watching the last 2 years of your videos!
This video: exists
Normal person: Thats amazing engineering and stuff
Carguy: *DO A SKID, SEND IT BRO*
Yes! I would love to see this thing rip so tiny rubber
*JUMP IT BRO*
*FLOOR IT BRO*
Дисковые тормоза, обалдеть, вот это я понимаю подход к делу 👍👍👍
This project is just beyond amazing. The remote start is a really nice touch! Can't wait for the final tests!
That's amazing, sweeeeet, magnificent! I'm out of words.
All the work you've done!
And all the time we have to wait! 😁
Fantastic results, I bet you were thrilled seeing it move and move well by the end. Nice work!
"I still have no idea how ..., but ill try my best"
This saying sums up my entire life.
You seriously are making my dream become a reality. I used to have a 2004 HPI Nitro RS4 and I always wondered if what you're doing could ever been done!! This is incredible. I can't get enough of this. :)
This thing is hilarious, yet absolutely incredible. I never would have suspected that this car would actually exist on the internet and yet, here you are making it. Love this thing.
amazing! can't wait for the brake setup!
Wow, looks wonderful engine car!
This channel draws my attention . OMG so much hardwork and patience, looking forward to finish your project. New subscriber here !
I applaud your commitment to keeping it scale and complicated rather than taking the easy or best way
I was eagerly waiting for this!!
:D
and Your Dog seems to be scared by ur car XD
It’s time for boost my dude
SOOO COOL!! Thank you for these uploads! First thing I watch in the morning with my coffee :) please never stop inventing and recreating. You’re inspiring a whole culture of enthusiasts with your videos and passion for mechanics. Can’t wait to see what the future holds!!
Just wanted to say great work, looking forward to seeing where the project goes. ✌️
Yes! He finally made another video, best saturday afternoon I could imagine
By the fact that she's rwd and that the engine is an rear central position, you should at the end get it à gt40 body to stay realistic 😉
yessssss!!!!!
The GT40 made by Lola? There are other rear/mid engine mounted cars that would look better.
@@lycian123 what would you like to see? I think if he got the baby turbo working he should use an SW20 body (toyota MR2)
One of the 60's model of Chevrolet Corvair has rear engine also cant remember if its just one year or multiple.
Ford gt 40 doesnt have a v4 though so not realistic
Futuristic looking, I bet you were thrilled seeing it move and move well by the end. Nice work!
Dude you're a genius.. And we can see that you love so much what you're doing! Thanks for making everyone day better inculding me. Good work!!
You are the Rob Dahms of RC 😂🙏
9:39 whenever that soundtrack kicked in I was like "hotline Miami?"
i've been following this build series and it is AWESOME. those brakes look so sick
I can’t wait to see the finished version going flat out, very very nice work 👍🏻👍🏻
I definitely need to see a top speed video eventually.
So the custom intake was too rich. You still have the supercharger laying around. Fix the gearbox on it and plumb it into this motor.
With the brakes if you do separate servos for the front and rear it would be real easy to set up a line lock for some cool burn outs.
Just need the right body.
Sounds like you will have a video for us soon enough showing how it's done
@@jvmiller1995 Agree
FINALLY! I've followed this build for a LONG time. LOVE IT!! Keep up the great work
Nice to see the car finally running! It looks very agile 👍👍👍
“Its like attempting to start a car moving in 5th gear”
C7 Corvette ZR1 has entered chat
Awesome mate. Looks amazing.
I followed you at 90k subs. Im so glad you are truly getting the attention for your great content!
Take your dog with you for the final test!
Please tell me what is the price of this
Use a single rotor mounted on the driveshaft with the caliper mounted on the frame. It’s going to save you on the extra weight.
I thought 4 discs for something so light was overkill, but maybe hes going for realism? also if you mounted a disc on the drive shaft you'd only have rear wheel braking I suppose. I know nothing of how RC nitro cars handle anyway haha
I like how this guy shows his failures as well. It makes the video more relatable.
Bound to be a winner under the new F1 rules for 2021 ... awesome engineering! Keep up the great work.
I like this video
I don’t know what I’m more excited about, this, or Rob Dahm’s 4 rotor...
A great build. I like the no music theme, it really works.
Thanks for the films
this reminds me of my Tmaxx crawler build. One thing leads to another and back again. I built a 4:1 gear reduction but engine was overheating so i put an fan on it. then the batteries died too quickly so I added a much bigger battery but it was too heavy for the springs so I added stiffer springs. I also installed four wheel steering and that was another can of worms. Dual fuel tanks, custom chassis, 7" tires... It was a long battle but well worth it and today I could not be more pleased with the results. Keep up the good work JohnnyQ90.
The dog's having none of it
How does the 3 speed transmission shown in this video work, I don't see any manual shifting. is it an automatic? Can anyone explain or provide a link?
Bigger area is in order for sure. It's truly gonna fly! Brilliant!
Thanks for the video.
Dude these videos got me hooked bro. I love to watch your machining skills and creativity. Can't wait to see the brakes go on!!🤘🏼😎🤘🏼🇲🇽
The dog want to play with your RC car... 🐕🐶😁❗You have to go on a parking with a long straight to set your engine and gearbox... Good job 👍👍👍🏎️🏁🤓🇨🇵
You could have said all that without the emojis
@@asiftalpur3758 It's for JOHNNYQ90, not for you... 😉❗

A little tinkering with the clutch might make a big difference
Spring tension/weight of the...things
This car sounds incredible!! Amazing piece of work my fellow hooman
That Pocket NC looks AMAZING! Might be the coolest tool that can fit on a tabletop.
Lol imagine having a torque converter in an rc car
*double the torque*
Yes that will be a great idea or switching to a rotary with a super charger not a turbo. I am sure Johnny can do it
@@polfa953 he made a supercharger for the rotary but it failed he needs to try a different design/style of supercharger
@@MrDJAK777 I don't think material exists for him to create such a small super charger like that.
@@ZaMplayCod well he seems confident he can make a positive displacement charger so I guess we will find out eventually. it's worth a shot
You need a dyno!!!
FINALLY I saw this first trial, love it !! 🤗 please continue to next video!!
This is literally a dream or a rc fan please I beg you and probably so do many others to make this possible for other people like making the parts to build this beast avalible to buy. What you are doing is revolutionary I believe keep it up.
Sounds awesome John, very happy for you!
Absolutely technically on point!! This is the true epitome of the hobby at this level 💪💪 this would be a dream car to me so I'm going to keep my eyes on your page thanks for sharing! You rock !!
Amazing engineering on the next level, I do envy your craftsmanship.
Can’t believe just found your channel today!! Some of the best content I’ve ever seen! Oh and the tools, machinery precision, perfection love it!! Oh and The dog @ the end was priceless!
If you made a competition that someone gets to spend a day with you on one of the projects after completion would be off tap!! They could be the camera man or woman hehe 👍👍👍
Love watching your videos, and the fact that your a committed to making your own parts that takes tallent
4 stroke powered RC car..Man!!!!! my jaw dropped about the progress. With all that machines for building those small components. There is no impossible.
Awesome! I'm really digging that push to start. Great video!
Just keeps getting better. Nice work. Thank you for sharing.
Man if only other things in life had this much R&D and T&T life and vehicles motorcycles would be considerably better you sir are a craftsman, engineer and mechanic that have the skills that I appreciate...keep the videos coming my friend we'll keep enjoying them my friend
I love this build! Absolutely amazing job. For reference I did a nitro to electric swap on a T-Maxxx and although the new electric motor has way more torque and power then the old nitro engine I still had to redo the gearing to match the new motors RPM range. So if I was you I would test the idle to max RPM and base your gear set off those numbers, 1 cylinder nitro engines can range between 10k and all the way up to 35k RPM on the top end and it sounds like the 4 cylinder is turning much lower RPM's which makes sense.
Man, your creativity and work are on the high level. You inspires me a lot
I love this project, can't wait until finish 😁 You make such a great work, well done ! (and never stop pls 😅)
Dang! Dude, your vids keeps getting better and better, please upload another one soon!
OMG..............Those 4-wheel disc-brakes will make that car stop on a freakin DIME!!! Those are gonna be AWESOME when ya add those!!! Outstanding job so far with everything!!! Looking forward to seeing this thing finished and passing full-sized cars/trucks on the streets with that thing!!! Lol.
I wasn’t looking for these videos but I’m so glad I did
You are such a valuable person! keep doing what you're doing. Smart people are rare in 2020.
This build is mind blowing, you are a wizard! This could make you millions with the amount of people who would buy this, including me!
Awesome build! I had the same sets of problems on my jkmax when I installed the V4, The disc brakes work well. keep up the great videos my friend!
Your videos are always so awesome. You're so talented. I've been following this project for awhile now.
Very impress with the details, CNC and machining work..👍👍 keep moving bro.
hey Johnny! been watching your videos for a while now and this was amazing! keep up the good work
Amazing! Those brake calipers are gorgeous!
If not too much trouble, save me the time having to go back to remember what we did last time and start with a checklist or something. Great video!
The sound is pretty cool 👌 I can tell it's going to fly!!!
Bro, even if it isn't the fastest rc when it's done, it is an absolute engineering *MASTERPIECE.*
That's is absolutely beautiful work. Cant wait to see more.
My guy just machined his own Rc car with s V4 engine. This is insane!
You could literally start your own rc company or even just a business for rc parts. First customer right here
love the diagnosis and open experimentation. and of course the opportunity to glean some insight/2nd hand knowledge :~)
Excellent as Always buddy n wish you the best on the Breaks n Gear Ratio's cuz this machine is a Beast. 👍👍😎
- RC4LIFE - 💨😎😁💙
Those little brakes look fantastic!
Great work like always. Gotta keep fine tuning like a real car. What this engine needs from the factory is a mini alternator, mini torque converter and of course a power source that does not weigh the same as the engine. I created brakets from scratch that allow my Capo brake set to be easily and firmly mounted. Ideally though a one piece CNC bearing housing would work the best.
利害的手藝,在來要裝上碟煞了,期待更進一步,加油,加油。
That thing is bada**! I love the ingenuity and all the work that goes into this!
Also, my son was disappointed that you don't speak during your videos, he kept asking 'why is the man in the video not talking?"
