Such a genius! Hannah and her sisters is one of my favourite movies! Thanks, Woody, for all your amazing movies and your clever thoughts about life and death!
last year i had a liver cancer scare. i was like him, so happy i was 'out of the woods.' then death became more apparent and i haven't stopped thinking about it since
You want the scariest situation possible? How about eternal life with no possibility of ever dying? If you think about it, that would be devastatingly rotten. No way to escape. No way to ever leave. Stuck here forever with no possible exit. Compared to that, death is a cakewalk.
This is a friggin riot.I love this guy he is a comedic genius. The best part? Most of what he is saying is true. The best humor is sometimes the truth being told.
Does anyone think the hearing loss was a result of him going to the rock concert with Holly? Remember he says "I cant hear anything. I am going to loosing hearing in an ear". Its so many years earlier but very funny if they are attached.
You should have gone further, to the segment where he comes home from a store with a bagful of clearly non-Jewish stuff. He pulls crosses and a rosary out and then he does this homage to Annie Hall and pulls out a loaf of Wonder Bread and a jar of mayonnaise! I was laughing so hard I could hardly catch my breath!
"The only thing that might have stopped me, might have, is my parents would be devastated. I would have to shoot them also, first. And I have an aunt and uncle... you know, it would have been a blood bath." This is basically the thought that goes through my head whenever I feel suicidal.
SHEESH. Why does anyone believe in any one particular fate?! Because some person promoted it? Because there’s a collection of such views, like ‘the bible?’ Guess what: there are a LOT of such views and books, and THEY DON’T ALL AGREE WITH EACH OTHER. What if we live more than once?! Why, that would mean...no nothingness. No ‘hell’ or damnation... No lack of meaning! I have hard evidence, and I’m certainly not the only one who does. I guess some folk just want to stress. Woody makes a good living at it. How ‘bout you?
Love Woody but he repeats the same themes in his movies too much. Infidelity being one of them. Infidelity, infidelity, ok, we get it. Write something else.

I love her. her advice. It's just magic.
I just love his movies endlessly!!
I simply adore this film....💖🇬🇧
I love Julie Kavner's voice.
Omg I had no idea this was Marge Simpson!
You mean Lynn Samuels
@@stevenminnerly5336 You mean Brenda Morgenstern?
@@carrieheffernan1685 Lynn was a very witty talk show host in NYC for about 30 years. She sounded just like Brenda.
"Hanna..." was the movie that made me seriously love cinema!
I’ve never seen anxiety summed up so perfectly.

+Jon Hart And you know this ... how?
+Jon Hart Yet here you are. If you're right then suicide is the only rational response. Are you bright enough to understand?

“I’m face to face with eternity. Not later, but now.” This line is actually scary as heck.
very
Yep! He’s great at that
I watched this in a Budapest theater, in 1989, the audience loved it.
I’ve seen this movie many times... love it. My favourite All time Woody Allen Movie. 👍🏻👍🏻
WOODY ALLEN/GENIUS

He's often playing neurotic, overthinking character. It might be true but it's not relevant. The fun is about absurdity how he takes it so seriously.
In an old interview from around 1970 Woody Allen said something that he likes to add surrealism to his comedy
We can all die at any moment - once a mature person accepts that, they make sure that every moment matters
"I'm face to face with eternity. Not later, but now..."
The movie! The music!

Love how he delivers the last line.
“And then, I have an aunt and uncle, I would have - you know, it would have been a bloodbath.”
See her also in Woody Allen's "Radio Days," another classic Allen film.

I watched this in countryside India during collage times and turns out to be a Remarkable film and unexpectedly good.
Back to the Apple by Count Basie. Great song on a great soundtrack. It's worth finding.
`How the hell do I know why there were nazis...I don`t know how the can opener works.`

i really love the casting in Woody Allen films...all except for that nervous guy who's always in 'em :3
He made my life lighter!!!!
I've seen this at least 20 times. Also Midnight in Paris.
Both are excellent. Woody Allen is an absolute genius. Brilliant man.
Never underestimate the unconscious sense of guilt.
'I think you snapped your cap.' :D
I know, I know…and your hamster. 🐹 YES!!!!
I would like Marge Simpson to reassure me everything is going to be okay, and then I'd grab a cigarette with her.
what am i?
@@jasonbateman2092 You're a genius.

It's like listening Lois Griffin talking to an intelligent depressed slim Peter Griffin.😂😅
he’s talking about living death!
Anxious over a disease he's imagined he has and then thrilled when he doesn't have it. 😂😂
Whatever your opinion of the guy, this is a great movie, his best...in my opinion.
I know how he feels, this is all so depressing, years of pain and fear and pointlessness or somehow summon up the courage to end it all now, but how?
Still there?
@@justgivemethetruth guess not
When your water pump breaks ...eat cheesecake ...I do
Why not, it's the perfect Xmas movie :)

Here's one obsessive (me) who understands obsessive thinking like this. So I guess I've snapped my cap too. 😆
Well, it's a classic movie.
@Frutoses Why, YES, it certainly is!
With your eyes closed, this is "The Simpsons".
What's the song?
He's talking to Marge Simpson.
This was my clip!
Woody Allen is venting his problems to marge Simpson
Some people are never happy.
Stay thirsty my friends 🍇🍇🍒🥝
woody and marge simpson

Wait, is he purposely being so sentimental (as a joke) or is this his true outlook on life?
Thanks!

Watch another Woody clip: Woody Allen fantasizes about going to hell
Lol all you have to do is go read Denial of Death, Schopenhauer, or some other depressing person to get in the right mindset.
Not everyone celebrates Christmas, Einstein.
You’re just realizing this now??
Is that Marge Simpson? Lol
yes. julie kavner
But you are not DA-YING !!! Lol 😂
That’s the baldest man I’ve ever seen.
