Ironic that the Hikoki awning is behind. Lighter than the behemoth Makita.😂😂

Hi Aidan, the skin weighs 4.7kg which is only 300g heavier than the Milwaukee. Please also note, this is a pre-released model. Get in contact with your nearest Total Tools store so we can organise a demo of the tool for you.

If you're talking about the nailer it's about 300g heavier than the Milwaukee. Its hammering force is equal to or better than the Milwaukee. Only real negative to the new Makita framing nailer is we don't know how well it endures in the field. Unlike the Milwaukee it doesn't require an expensive nitrogen recharge service so on paper for me the Makita is the better tool. Seems they've release the LXT variant first due to the likelihood they'll sell more "tool only" packages to existing LXT users ... shame that! Personally I'll give it a few months and see if there's any negative feedback before I buy it to replace my old dog of a Dewalt (I hate the spin ... wait ... bang of the Dewalt but to be honest it's never failed me).
I've been wanting to replace my Dewalt framing nailer for a long, long time but I have been fighting taking on yet another battery system. I'm hoping the new Makita nailer is reliable and that they bring out a new range of nailers to upgrade their current offerings. To date the only Makita "nailer like" tool I've got/risked is the stapler :) Senco makes really nice nailers but I've had endless trouble with battery reliability. You'd probably ask why I haven't gone Milwaukee .. I've struggled to avoid going red because knowing me I'd end up with a fleet of red tools :(
