I'm not a religious man but I'm intrigued by how many good ideas for movies was in this one. cloning Jesus, what would it be like to be a angel in a human body, children surviving in hell takes the cake though I would love to see a movie on that specifically.
A belated reply, but the "angel in a human body (vessel)" plot line was done by Supernatural, a TV series. Their 4th and 5th seasons follow it. It's surprisingly good.
All this happens in a show called "Preacher" its a pretty good series for most of its run.

No, it seems the logic in this Movie is that Angels and Demons need to posses Humans in order to occupy the real world. That cult tried to use regular children for Satan to possess in order to escape hell. Those bodies died, hence Satan could not just live outside his realm without them.
So as it goes with the Archangel Michael. He had to possess the priest body in order to stay in the real world. So, if you follow that logic all the way, once the priest body dies, Michael will be back in Heaven. And once the jesus clone dies, Satan will be back in Hell, seemingly for good.
I mean that's the logic the Movie is going by. "imprisoned forever" is probably a poor turn of phrase. God's plan was to turn the Devil's own idea on it's head, and will be rendered useless incarcerated inside Jesus until the day he dies. And Satan returns right back to Hell. where he'll be imprisoned forever (again) "Imprisoned Forever" sounds like better Movie dialogue. And besides the real Jesus was not Immortal either, so how could an exact clone be?

Funny story: This is the second time I've encountered cloning Jesus in a story. The first one was an episode of The Outer Limits called the Shroud. However, instead of Satanists trying to create a body for the Devil, it was just a fundamentalist group of Christians who were trying to initiate the second coming.

The scene where the Angel is angry at the priests for not believing what's written in the bible. The perfect response would be "have you read that thing lately?". If an Angel were to open a bible today they would probably be like "wow. You guys misinterpreted everything over the ages".

To be fair, he is mostly because he's in a human body that can't take the amount of force he has. It's like if you were suddenly possesing a body of a toodler and told to fight an army of other toodlers. The only reason Jesus even died and even on that point Jesus didn't really die he simply resurrected 3 days later and then went to heaven.. the reason Jesus died in the first place for our sins so thst we may be cleansed and saved if that whole dying for our sins part didn't need to happen the Jesus the most broken and truly type of immortal being because as it is stated Jesus is a part of God and is God at the same time and if that truly is the case then you'd know that God is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent the big 3 O's and a being with that power litterally can't die because well the exist in all of time and space, past present and future at the same time all at once how can you kill something that lives permently in that state plus add the fact he is all powerful meaning all power in the world he has and is and only another all powerful being can harm him..then you have all knowing..simply that makes God op. For the fact that once again how can you kill something that knows what you think/feel/and or are going to do/will do/could do/have the possibility of doing adding to the fact he exist in past/present/future at the the same time all at once there is litterally nothing you can do..

I’m guessing since It’s the body of Jesus with the powers of Jesus, he can resurrect himself and not die. Or Lucifer will forever be trapped in the contents of the body, like the blood and bones. Or Lucifer dies with the body.

BUT FOR REAL THOUGH, why wasn't Michael informed? It still could have been a whole a$$ twist where Michael is just to make sure the baby and Laura survive, and still reveal to Lucifer that the baby is simply gonna be the new prison. Why did Michael ALSO have to figure out God's plan? Isn't he God's First-Born? Why wasn't the crucial information not CRUCIALLY given?
