I lived in Korea in the late 90's and never saw anything like this! Wow, I would have loved to eat all those foods. One day I'll get back. Thanks so much for sharing your experience. The kimbop looked terrific.
Yes you gotta go back! So much has changed ! thank you so much for your support 🙏🏽🙏🏽💕 hope you enjoyed the video!
As a vegetarian at the time I lived in Seoul for five years.. times were tough and I ate a lot of bibimbap! Def needed this guide!
Waiting for the launch! 👍🏼
I hope you get to return as a vegan! thank you for watching the video
Yay I am planning a trip to Seoul next year and needed this video as a vegan. Super excited now to try these places thank you .
Among the food culture of Korea, special things that distinguish it from the food culture of other countries. //
1. Perfect lacto-vegetarian food represented by Korean Buddhist temple food. And this diet began in AD 372.
2. An endless variety of soup dishes represented by ‘Sinseollo’, Korea's finest cuisine
3. Kimchi: Vegetables fermented with animal protein represented by cabbage kimchi. In the past, only Koreans made and ate it. There are over 800 types of kimchi.
4. Jeotgal: A fermented animal-based sauce made from seafood. In Korea, there are more than 140 different types of salted fish.
5. Ssam: It means wrapping all the ingredients you want to eat in various leafy vegetables represented by lettuce. However, unlike burritos, you have to swallow them in one bite, so you need to adjust the amount of ingredients to be wrapped appropriately.
6. Herbal Medicine Ingredients : Herbal medicine ingredients are not only eaten for special diseases or health, but are also often used for general home cooking. For example, as ingredients for Samgye-tang, Mulberry, Tree Aralia, Eleutherococcus Sessiliflorus, Mongolian Milkvetch, Korean Angelica, Ginger, Jujube and Korean Ginseng are used.
7. Namul : South Korea is the country that eats a lot of dishes made with only vegetables without meat and seafood protein. Namul are foods made with one edible plant as the main ingredient. Do not mix other vegetables. Examples of the types of Namul include Shepherd's Purse, Stringy Stonecrop, Korean Angelica-tree, Korean Wild Chive, Butterbur, Bracken, Doellingeria Scabra, Bamboo Shoot, Chamnamul and Cirsium Setidens.
8. Cold Noodles: Korea developed the world's first cold noodle dish, and it is the place where the whole nation began to enjoy eating. The reason is that the summer is hot and the water in valleys, rivers and wells is clean.. According to literature, the history of Naengmyeon goes back to the Goryeo Dynasty(918~1392). Besides Naengmyeon, Kong-guksu, Mak-guksu, Milmyeon, Kimchimari-guksu, Bibim-guksu, and Jjolmyeon exist in Korea.
// Etc... Korea shows a distinctly different food culture from neighboring countries in Far East Asia (China, Mongolia, Vietnam, Japan).
I love it thank you!!!
Maru Gimbap (order the cold noodles/dumplings/california roll) and Alt.A are the BEST vegan places to eat in Seoul. I lived there for a few months and tried pretty much every vegan restaurant. There is a great cafe called Plant in Yeonam/Itaewon as well which is great but its western food.
Thank youuuuu for this video... I am going to korea in September and I was really concerned regarding food... But because of your video now I'll enjoy Korean food...
i love this series!!

I am so thankful to God I found your channel ❤️ This channel is a dream come true for a Vegan. Thank you so so much for all your recommendations and efforts ❤❤❤
Yumm
Yay! Glad you got to see Seoul and eat so well! My wife and I talked about the croffles at Nuldam Space months after coming home, lol. Luckily, they have a few locations near other sightseeing areas... now they just need one in the US. So when are we going back??
Great video! We really enjoyed watching it
Thank you so much!! 🤗 glad you enjoyed it
Yes! You went to Korea! Such a beautiful country with wonderful people. ❤ Love seeing the desserts and hearing the crunch sounds of the croissant. 🥰🤤
Hahah Yess love that crunch asmr
I went to 3 of those you recommend and loved them, definately will go to the others next summer, thanks
So happy to hear that! 😍
Ma'am the journey you took us through is just incredible. I'll be visiting Korea in Spring of 2024 and this video will surely be helpful💖

Thank you!
@ratedvfood what an amazing Vegan Food Tour. Visiting Korea in 2024 and will def put all your recommendation to use. Thanks for sharing. GO VEGAN 🌱
Excellent my friend👌🌱
Thank you! Happy Holidays!!
This video is heaven for a vegeterian like me. I want to visit S. Korea next year.
Why aren't you vegan? Dairy is for baby cows and you are not a baby cow and dairy causes colorectal cancer and fatty liver and heart disease.
If you get the chance to come back to Vancouver Eunice check out the vegan night market!
Will do!!
My wife and her sister are vegans but we are dedicated to go to Korea next year. For sure, I will put these on the list! Thanks
Amazing!! 🙌🏽 another to add to your list is Alta for jajangmeyong ..it was closed when I went so I didn’t get to try it 😫 but I wish I had gone
Glad you made it out to Seoul and you found places that I wasn't aware of. I will need to check out those spots =). Thank you so much for this video. Next time you make it out to Seoul, check out Plantude, which is in the Co-Ex Mall where the Starfield Library is located as well. And also there is a lot of veggie/vegan options near Sahmyook Medical Center, including one near the nursing school which is called Veggie Land that provides traditional home made feel Korean breakfast and much buffet. Also Sahmyook University has a lot of vegan places on campus and the surrounding areas. I will be there in March to do reshoots for new content I am making in Korean history =). Wish you all the best and thank you so much again for your awesome content!
Hi! Thanks so much for the recs! There's so many! Hoping I can return to Seoul again soon and I'm so excited that you will be filming some new content! I love your videos. I will have to check out what the latest on your channel.
@@ratedvfood Thank you so much for the kind words sis , they are a great encouragement. 🙌🙂 If I find new spots, I will scout out the land and send them your way =). Love your content and continued blessings on your channel! =). 👍🙌🙂
Wowww follow ❤ fc from TH.
Me being Seoul vegan and don’t know these places 😨💚
Nooo what about the vegan and letter cafe?? Can't find it in your description, or on my Naver maps :'(
It's there in the description. Not sure if you took a look at it but it's listed as Vegan Croissants near Temple
Neol Dameun Gonggan Gyeongbokgung Branch
서울 종로구 삼청로 24
naver.me/G7ZHZc5f
When I tested google maps for Seoul, it seems to work with bus routes from location A to B. But not on foot, car, etc. So you could triangulate off of that because the streets are still visible.
Yeah it works for cars but it’s not convenient for on foot. Naver is what the locals use
Your pronunciation of tteokbokki is spot on!
Really!? That’s awesome 😅 those kdrama paid off
Can you do an about me video
please add prices also
Hi I don’t add prices because they change. Also I spend 20+ hours creating and editing videos so all I ask of my viewers is to take 2min to search for prices if they really need to know them. But it wasn’t expensive if that’s what you wanted to know
hows that vegan kitchen vegan when they have chicken?
It’s VEGAN chicken.. my whole channel is vegan I don’t show non vegan food
I love your videos but you must be a millionaire to be able to go to these places all the time. So jelly
Hahhaa definitely not .. I’m happy to report I’ve been able to travel on a budget and going with friends helped
I have appreciated Candace and Tucker in the past, but I am greatly grieved on their Israel stance.
