Update: This happened 2 months ago, I decided to live with the uneven hair and wait till it grow a bit longer. This month I got a haircut and now my hair is all good again. But i would never cut my hair at home ever again 😂
I cut my hair short and long all by self. It s super easy. I only messed up one time. Just make a pony tail and cut. Position of the ponytail gives different shape layers. There are some very good tutorials on youtube. I hate going to salon because hate waiting . Also it is so expensive. Sometimes they only do few scissor runthroughs and charge same amount they would for a advance hair cut. for me It only take few minutes to cut. I cut little bit longer than I want, and tweak till it look good on my face. Ofc having curly hair make it easier as it doesn't need to be super levelled
It's dumb asf though. Why would your SO have to comfort you because you IGNORED them?? They told you exactly what would happen, it happened, and now they need to spend all this time comforting you where if you'd just listened none of it would've happened. Be better partners, stop expecting your partners to move mountains for you against their better judgment.

As a teenager I was cutting my male friend’s hair (my first time using clippers and doing a short haircut like that) and I CUT HIM behind the ear 😅 I also had a crush on him so.. 💀 (This was almost 20 years ago and it is LOCKED into my brain)

I have been cutting my grandmas, friends and my own hair since over a decade and cutting straight hair to a bob (like uyen usually wears it) is NOT easy especially not the first time ever cutting hair. This hairstyle takes practice. Cutting hair, ESPECIALLY straight hair like uyens, is an actual skill. It's a bit late for this advice but... When DIYing stuff... Especially your hair... Go in small increments and don't lob off a massive chunk. You can always cut off more but you can't put it back.
I live in Germany and have been cutting my own hair for 6 years now because a) I distrust hair stylists for life, since they ALWAYS kept cutting off more than I requested and b) my sister and mom go to hair salons and they keep complaining about incompetence, and they generally aren't Karen type and don't complain about services. So yeah, my hair might not be stylish (I just go same length around my head) but it's mine and exactly the length I want. Also when I do decide to cut it, I sometimes tend to cut it twice, a few days apart, just to make sure I don't cut too much - but I get bored by the time I did the first even cut and decided I got some room to go shorter and it will still be good. So yeah, I can only sign the small increments part, especially if you're new to it.
But how can she lose her mind? She was the one who asked for it. You don't blame people for what they not capable to do when you are the one who ask for it. 😕

I'm not a hair dresser, I went to school for design. But after the third person I decided I better learn how 😅 I have a kit and everything now.

I remember when my sister begged me to cut her hair, I told her no several times and then she said "I will shave it if I don't like it, you know I look good even bald". So I accepted. It was horrible, and of course, she blamed me, freaked out, started crying and being mad at me, then she shaved her hair unevenly and said it was my fault.
This is funny, I asked my husband for a trim during the 2020 anarchy and he painstakingly trimmed each hair often individually just to get the split ends. My hair is past my butt but he was worried about taking too much length lol
If my husband cut my hair, he would do the same thing 😂 but only because he likes my hair as long as possible (I've had pixie cut before and he was not a fan)
The best advice I can give is if someone says they don’t think they can do your hair, believe them! Be happy because 99% of the time they are right and if you go thru with it you’ll end up with a mess. Especially with cut or color. Just say ok and find someone else 😬🙈🤣
My experience is the complete opposite. The first person who cut my hair was super confident and just did the exact mistake of this video: Cutting of way too much with the first cut. The others I let cut my hair were way more hesitant and because of that also more careful. My piece of advice would just be to not let it be done by friends if you wouldn't be at least okay with having a bad haircut.

I've never left a salon completely happy, they NEVER know how to cut or style my hair type. I had one hairdresser who was great at trimming ends without cutting too much length but she still didn't know how to do anything with styling.

I started cutting my hair myself at the start of the pandemic. I've never been happy with how hairdressers have cut my hair, so decided to take the time where no one would see my to try to learn how to do it myself, and I've been much happier with it. My hair is a little curly, mostly frizzy, so if it's uneven you can't really tell.
Cutting someone's hair is a nightmare for me. No way could I do it! I just recently started shaving my own undercut after 2 years of having it lol. I've been traumatised at seeing too many awful diy haircuts. During covid dog groomers weren't open. The poor dogs all over the city had the worse haircuts lol. However, it was interesting to see how many men dyed their grey hair.
This reminds me of when I cut my husbands hair once. It was atrocious and he still brings it up occasionally to this day. I've never laughed so hard in my life as to how uneven it was.

Cutting someone's hair is a nightmare for me. No way could I do it! I just recently started shaving my own undercut after 2 years of having it lol. I've been traumatised at seeing too many awful diy haircuts.
During covid dog groomers weren't open. The poor dogs all over the city had the worse haircuts lol. However, it was interesting to see how many men dyed their grey hair.
