The one feature I wish they would add is some kind of auto resolve feature. The bosses and hand crafted set piece fights are all great, but after a few dozen fights against the same brigands or wolves or boars they all end up feeling the same and I ended up just trying to avoid unnecessary fights which is unfortunate. Being able to skip the easy random encounters would make the rest of the game much more enjoyable.
Wartales is a fantastic game and the devs have improved it a lot. In my opinion, if they add some story and different outcomes (more rpg elements) it will have crazy replayability as well
I am 60 hours in, still in the 4th region, this game is addicting and constantly challenging. Character progression and reward pacing is very well done.. Recommend it 100%
Addicting is not the word you're looking for, if it even is one. Please get into the habit of saying addictive instead. Not only is it correct it will make you seem much less stupid than you are.
i've played about 60hrs and just scarch a surface. i played year ago without any DLC. it was very fun game, i like turn based tactical combat, and most other things that game offers. some day i must go back and check out new content. 👍👍👍
I just love this game. If you love Xcom and Medieval fantasy, this is the game for you. I just wish there were more fantastical beasts like dragons, trolls, griffins and such.
I enjoyed it at first but the battles got old pretty fast. The maps were the same, it was a meat grinder once you got op characters , and I had no feel of urgency like on battle brothers. I wish this game would be better gameplay wise and had special events with special stages and not the same 4 maps.
I really liked this game when I bought it years ago but they kind of ruined the ability to be a bandit, fighting a group of guards was pretty difficult but then they introduced the waves of reinforcements which makes it almost impossible to defeat while coming out with no deaths, not totally impossible but it turns the battle into an hour long challenge. It's a fun game that feels rewarding in the beginning but if you've played something like Kenshi or Bannerlord before this has the same feeling once you have a maxed out squad theres not much to do besides earn money to keep them payed. It quickly becomes a merchant simulator after you've explored a region.
I have 750hrs in this game and hold the world record for most enemies slain in 1 combat. (Search rat slaying on the subreddit) Very good game, happy to see it getting love for the consistent updates up until finally releasing
My brother and I started playing Wartales on it's initial release. One of the best "co-op" games on the market. And Shiro Games did the co-op gameplay better than any other we've tried in the past. Sure it had some hiccups, but those were patched out as the game matured. My brother plays it much more than I do, but even so I have around 500 hours played. Love the new classes they've added since launch. If we had a gripe, it is that the weapons that the province bosses drop are about the most useless items in the game and are easily outclassed by weapons and gear dropped by higher level opponents. Ditto for weapons/gear found in tombs. Kind of makes those two activites a waste of time. But that is really a minor issue. Game is fantastic, Shiro is responsive to player feedback and we're looking forward to diving into the newest DLC. Thank you for highlighting this great game.
I dropped it when I painted myself into a bit of a corner. I picked the slow learner negative trait for all my guys which slows your xp gain (the 'best' nagative trait), but the gap between finishing 1 zone and starting the next became wider and wider until after finishing 1 zone I was about 3 levels under level to be able to tackle the next, which meant hours and hours of randomly generated contracts in areas I'd already beaten, and I just couldn't face it.
Wartales is the 3D version of Battle Brothers (most accurate lookalike). As for the game itself, i played it a couple of months after its release and after i invested around 20 hours in its campaign i understood that crafting which was the main source to get a better weapon was disabled due to a bug and couldn’t craft anything, let alone the sheer amount of bugs that plagued the game. i deleted it since. A few days ago, i checked its updates page and there is like 30+ patches and updates since i quit. Maybe it’s time to give it a shot again.
I have over 1000 hours in this game. It is a great game. I have multiple playthroughs and the "End Game" is pretty much when you are ready to do another playthrough. There are multiple hardness settings and an Ironman type mode. Regions can be adaptive or level locked (chosen at the beginning of a playthrough).
I tried it almost a year back and I really liked it. What put me off a bit was the brutal RNG. I don't know if they tweaked it in the later patches, but it was brutal to see your gang getting decimated, regardless of good preparation outside the battle. Still a fun game to play though. Haven't uninstalled it so I will definitely give it one more go.
I have been considering picking this up for some time but I have a question about the DLC/ add-ons (you may answer this in the video but I am only 1 minute in). Do the various add-ons take place following the main game, or are they concurrent? For example, if I play the entire game and then pick up an add-on, will I have to start a new playthrough because it's intended for beginner characters?
Wartales is really a fantastic game. Try it, really. Had a little issue with the "hat" update that really killed my thief build, same with how stolen goods are treated... but now that the game is "finished" you won't have the same experience I had. I would just have been glad that a patch was not forced on my save file at that time.
Basically, it's SideQuest: The Game. If you hate XCOM because it has a great story, then maybe you'll like it - for a few hours... then the buyers remorse kicks in.
I had this bug on Xbox that a certain NPC (monk) would never leave my party. All the patches never fixed that. But the first hours before facing that were a thrill.
“You can use our links to pick it up…” How many people actually buy Steam games from UA-cam links? Just bought this video reminded me to pickup the DLCs tho.
Please put some respect on Wartales daddys name... its Battle Brothers Jr, do a video on that. No sponsors needed, thank me later. That's where this title got its swag from. Not to mention its a better game in a lot of ways, Battle Brothers is very iconic.

@@calumlittle9828 ok friend, now go get your chill pills and visit your doctor soon.
I had a armored bear as a companion and he ate so much I needed to rob merchants only for food, I didn’t even think about letting him go!
My favorite UA-cam channel talking about my favorite game!! Thank you for spreading the love! Played all year and this new DLC is amazing

We want it on PS5!! 😢
at least it's on switch

Playing with a friend makes it 1000x more fun, i definitely recommend it if you're not afraid of a repetitive game
I played it back around the start of this year. Thought it was very fun but on Xbox, it kept deleting my saves so that was a bummer

Which DLC would you recommend
It’s fun but got a little grindy and repetitive
Just like Battle Brothers.
Especially in the late game
@@taomahNEGEVyeah but the gameplay is slower and less satisfying than BB.
Damn this is the only thing holding me back from buying.
@@princeniccolo8299 I have never ever found the Sunken Library or the Black Monolith very satisfying but rather frustra ting.
This game is utterly fantastic in every way. An excellent competition for battle brothers.

Are there beasts in battle... like trolls, dragons, etc? All I see are humans fighting humans.
@@kaipacifica1289 Some monsters exist and beasts such as wolves bear pigs but the ennemy variety is pretty small (no dragons or trolls sadly)
No comparison to Battle Brothers??
How about judging a game on its own merits?
@@andrechapetta well they DO basically have the same battle system
Battle Brothers is the Father of Wartales

How does this compare in similarity to FF Tactics? I love that game, but hadn't found a turn-based Tactics game that I love that much
You can say it is Battle Brothers with better visuals.
It definitely needs some kind of way to make money outside of combat.
Battle Brothers next?
It’s crazy it’s still not on playstation
i wait für the mac or ps5 version...
It’s okay, but no magic 😢
