  • Hello you all! I am a Macro Social Worker and Career Coach. I want to start a series where I discuss different career options available for macro social workers. This is the 5th video of the series! In this video, I discuss the field of Social Research, explain the average pay, daily tasks, skills needed, etc. I don't know everything about this field, but I do hope to give you a basic understanding that you can build from and continue your research around!

My first research job was at the Research Institute on Addictions, which is now part of my alma mater, The University at Buffalo. My second research job was with the Nathan Kline Institute and the Manhattan Psychiatric Center

My first job as a BSW was a research student for Loma Linda University School of Social Work and Social Ecology. It’s an amazing position to learn how to evaluate data and recommend ways to improve services based on results I found. 👏 Great Video!

@@christianaebeleonyela7170 I did grad school six years ago. I'm sure I did it then but i haven't thought about it since. All schools have their students report on their field placements in different ways. There isn't a universal field placement report that I am familiar with.

I already read those kinds of reports anyway! (that’s available to the public) That’s what got me thinking that I’d like to work in social work, so I did some research and found your videos. It wasn’t until recently that I found out that there’s a way to still work in the social work field without having to take on a carer role and that’s social work research!
