Yeah it happens to boys a lot, but girls can definitely have voice cracks too. A boy's larynx and voice box enlarges by 66% in puberty, while a girl's grows 24%. That's a significant difference and that's why boys very often tend to get voice cracks during puberty

This video does a great job of explaining why stress can lead to a cracking voice.
Why do human voices have a falsetto register at all? I've heard some evolutionary explanations that involve a "call register" but I'm not sure if that's backed up with any serious evidence.
    Thanks!

I'm 10 weeks on T, and I definitely cannot sing at what used to be the top of my range. I sing as I usually do, and my voice comes out WAY off. I think the lack of muscle memory while my cords are thickening is my main problem at the moment. So I'm trying to sing very deliberately at the top of my range to figure out the new positions. I think that if I keep doing this throughout my second puberty I might be able to keep my old range and add a lot onto the lower end.

    • @guacre2675

@@guacre2675 Doin' my best. I definitely can't reach the previous top of my range, unfortunately. 10 days shy of a year on T and I can sing convincingly like both a man and a woman. It takes me a second to switch from masculine to feminine though. And I can only do it in some songs.
My falsetto is completely gone, but I hope it'll come back once I'm farther into second puberty. But I like my voice a lot more. Listening back to my old voice is kind of obnoxious: like listening to a chipmunk version of myself singing. No wonder I hated listening to recordings of myself.

Guitar strings are all essentially the same length. It is their thickness that primarily determines pitch. A better analogy would have been a piano, or harp, where, although the strings do get thicker as the notes decrease in pitch, their length also changes significantly.

I don't really recall personally dealing with voice cracks when going through puberty, at least, I don't think I did very much. I read that if the voice-box grows more slowly, voice-cracking tends to happen much less or not at all, as the voice and vocal cords are able to more comfortably adjust. If the voice-box grows very quickly however, this is when voice-cracking is more common.

I can't even make my voice crack. I only remember it only don't it once to me too ? and that was when I had a really dry throat from talking too much. Even then it didn't go higher it went lower, but I have a kind if high voice for a man though normally (when I'm perky, which is most of the time), though lower and more masculine when bored and relaxed. Basically my voice changes depending on my mood.

If any GENUINE voice specialists could answer this I'd be grateful. I've had to give up singing as, if singing a scale for example, every other note would be missing. I can't sing at all anymore. Simply no sound will be produced with some notes. And my voice is much deeper and huskier than it should be. I had a camera down and had a sing - up to 1/3rd of my vocal cords don't meet. This has been going on for nearly three years and I've had vocal issues for over 20 years (I've been written about in a journal!) I've been in for a microlaryngoscopy just last week, as the consultant expected a growth/scarring/cyst underneath the vocal cords - but he found nothing. There hasn't been a follow-up but there's nothing more he can do.
One vocal specialist I've spoken to is flummoxed.
Any knowledge from people who actually know would be greatly appreciated.

um, the length of a string on a guitar has no relation to the pitch. Thickness and tightly wound it is determines that. A comparison to a harp would have been a little better, but these other factors still do come into play.

2 questions why after surgery the 3rd day is always the most painful? when surgical wounds heal why are they so itchy?

    • @animeartist888
      @animeartist888 7 років тому

I've never heard of that first one, but the second I can help. Wounds of any type are healed from the inside-out. That is, your body produces more cells to fill the gap at the base layer or germ layer deep in the wound. Normally, old skin cells on the top of your skin shed off in daily activity. Your wounds get itchy because they're healing and the old, damaged cells on top need to be shed. This is usually made more pronounced when you cover the wound with bandages or ointments.

    • @therebel1375

i'm wondering, are blood type related to the ability of immune system react to stuff, like A blood type had A aglutinin that aglomerate B type cell, to simplify its mean A type cant accept B type vis versa, but O type can aglomerate all blood type or reject but only accepting its own, AB had total opposite things and accept everything while would be aglomerated by the recepient, so if O react and aglomerate more stuff (blood type) then AB, is it possible that AB had a weaker immune system because how they aglomerate other blood type and O had the strongest because they react to almost everything?

Why have we developed consciousness and communication if we can live comfortably without it? (Like dogs and raccoons and most animals)

John Mertz I see your point but the sense of self can be very destructive as we've seen throughout history through wars and battles of large scales and sure other animals have their disputes through themselves but I'm confused why we developed it if it doesn't seem to be increasing our chance of reproducing. Maybe you have some insight to this that I don't have and if so I would love to hear it!

I'm 13, and female, do you think it's because of puberty? Bcuz u hit puberty almost 2 years ago and had experienced this for a few months and then it stopped. It started again yesterday. It was fine until mid day.
