We just reach the point that beating Mexico doesn't really means anything anymore. Its just one bad team beating a worst team.
As a Mexico fan, I hate us right now. I feel no pride. Our league is trash, I don’t like any clubs, any owners, our league structure is atrocious. Besides a couple, I don’t like most of our players. I don’t care for the coaching staff, it’s getting to the point I don’t even like our fans anymore. We’re down 2-0 and they’re still there partying, have a good time. But I get it. The state of Mexican fútbol is just horrible right now, nothing redeeming about it.

Dido from a US fan and how I feel about the MLS and US soccer overall. Don’t get me started on US soccer Federation’s effort to make soccer a political mouth piece and has gone down the road of making the women’s team their main goal despite them now being out matched, out classed and out played by all the countries now playing women’s football…and doing it the way. Thanks US soccer for ruining both programs!!!
I legit appreciate how you all cover both teams. I truly enjoy understanding the inner workings of El Tri, and the analysis of the weaknesses and strengths and persistent issues.
Anyways, for the USMNT, stagnation is the PERFECT word. Ever since GGG came back, we have really only rose to the occasion against Mexico. I am not shocked at all with what happened. The slow start, our obstinate "system", refusing to let Gio be a true 10, trying to play out of the back, slow transitions its all things we've seen these past 5 years. I think we'll button it up a little against Brazil. Play to a 3 - 1 defeat. As always the federation won't care. We'll probably barely make it out of the easiest group in the tournament and again lose 3 to 1 against Colombia or Brazil in the quarters. And repeat that exact same pattern at the world cup, because I'm fairly confident our federation would not fire GGG. Even if they did fire him, our federation is such a corrupted and inept clown show that not sure the replacement would make that much of a difference, except maybe BJ? Anyways, its just frustrating hosting the largest soccer event in the world in two years, and just knowing we're going to eff it up.

I know that maybe you guys are not well informed about South American football but there is no way you can compare a single USMNT player to a Colombian. Playing in an European league doesn´t mean that you are a good player, most U.S players that are in Europe are mostly there for business reasons. Jhon Arias and Richard Rios play in the Brasilian league and they are WORLD class players. Even Jorge Carrascal, Mateo Casierra and Kevin Castaño that play in the Russian league have quality that is very difficult to find in a top European league.
Most usa players are products of marketing to be sold to the american audience given their acquisition power a.k.a the amount of jerseys sold, comercials watched etc etc

The Brazilian League is the 6th best league in the world. It’s behind the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1. Arias and Rios are very good underrated players, but they aren’t world class. Colombia beat USA because they have a stronger mentality and coaching, not because they are better player for player.

If you said “I don’t see a difference between the two teams players” it’s because you don’t know anything about the game. I can see complete ignorance thinking because US beat Mexico, so you guys are a strong team equal to Colombia?

Having players in European leagues doesn’t mean they are good. It also doesn’t mean they are better than the players/teams they are going against.
I disagree. Top European leagues and the clubs are NOT stupid. Players don’t get on the field for these clubs by accident. US has players in good leagues playing well, and others fighting for playing time behind world class or really good players. I don’t think the main problem with the U.S. is talent or lack of good players. Maybe we still lack finishers and a true forward that can be dangerous (come on Balogun!!!!!) but the main problem is how they play, the tactical objective and lack of identity. That comes from coaching and the over all system that US soccer is failing to succeed. It comes from the top and coaching!!! They aren’t using these players correctly!
Your opinions on Quiñones were actually very different than mine. I thought he was the best Mexican player on the field. Most of our offensive possession was on his side of the field, and he was involved in way more plays than Antuna was on the other side. I would personally start him in every match.
If Mexico just don’t start Charly and Romo we mover forward and perform better that’s why when we subbed them off we scored two goals and looked better if we get the midfield right we well be fine.
