I noticed your 2x4 on caster wheels don’t have a piece of wood for reinforcement. So my question is, what screws did you use to add the caster wheels directly into the Kallax unit??
Would be great if the table folded behind the shelf just one shelf instead of two, so you can fold it down and push it against the wall for easier storage. So you can have a big table but having hinges and a locking thing to hold the table from folding down.
The kitchen table ivw been using is 29" tall, with the sewing machine sitting ontop its too height for my shoulders and back, it causes strain, if adding to a table make sure its shorter by 3-4 inches lower, no leg room if its too low
samantha nicholson I am going to purchase a Pahl children’s desk from Ikea for my new big machine... makes it the perfect height at the middle setting.. they are adjustable to three heights
@@catty2chatty i don't see why not, but if you can get plans off pintrest....some are free but hard to find. i was thinking of adding cleats to each side in the middle and adding an adjustable shelf then cover it with a wooden plank, but ended up not doing so. i want those sewing lift things but are expensive, that would need one two sides or a back that we could attach to... depends on the lift if you want to stash you machine, otherwise lifting it and putting it in the cubby, make sure it can hold your machine weight. mine is to heavy. let me know if you need anything. i think maybe others can offer better build suggestions. have fun. sam
@@samanthanicholson9015 I lucked out and got a sewing cabinet with one of those lifts in it. Sadly, it won't fit my Bernina, but I use it for my basic Janome. It was only $200 (Canadian) on a buy and sell from a woman who upgraded. What a steal of a deal! I love it and wish I had the same for my Bernina. Oh well, maybe someday.
@@catty2chatty awesome! I'm looking into the generic scrap box, I may just get two matching shelves cleat each side and add a table in center so I can have storage n work space the guy I just bought my zoje machine from with table motor n chair for 675.00 boxusamail he is import export place. This is really nice. However, I believe you would need to leave one of the cubby sides out to allow you to sit down while doing crafts. This would probably provide ample space for leg room.
These cubes are quite lightweight, with hollow honeycomb sections (the wider pieces). And recently they’re getting engineered down to limit timber usage. I’m wondering whether they are still robust enough to be sturdy enough. Has anyone done one of these with late 2019 onwards Ikea Kallax, for example, or Homebase clevercubes (Uk)?
I wonder if you could get a bigger butcher block on top that has an overhang so you can slide a chair under it and sit at it and like a table. I bet the height is funky though.
I planned to make it myself and maybe compare pricing but I see the ready made ones cost alot I found one for my size 195$ the shipping is the same for about 200 I can build a whole table. The look of this one is nicer
6:00 I agree with Debbie The craft Room is now my favorite room,But I also love the kitchen. Way to go Paige. WOW!!
This idea was in my storage book couple of years ago...and had wheels. Targets has cubes shelves at great prices. march 2021
This is the ticket! Excellent!❤️
Love it. The baskets are so cute!

What if you make a cut out for your machine. I've seen some do that with Ikea tables on Pinterest. Will the height be ok then?

Where can I get the butcher block from????
I looked them up at Home Depot
You do need a bottom piece and the 2 bookcases need to be connected, especially on wheels.
I love that i wish i could have my own

I bet that solid butch block cost a lot of money.
$350 ikea

What is the height of the finished table and what size is the butcher block? Thanks.
Right because that’s the size I need!!
What ever height & size you want it to be.
I’d like to know what size this is
I made one for my craft room and I love it - thank you for sharing
Very Nice, guys!!
Can you give use the size of the butcher block for the top?
Would have been great should you have been more detailed on some of this. Thanks for sharing it though it is a great idea.
wow love it but i wish you all wouldn't talk all at once. would be easier to hear instruction
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT
Don't lie lady, making a craft room doesn't increase the value of your house because they are not permanently attached to walls.
I have the same table and legs can you tell me what size is your plywood.is. And can you tell me what size your butcher block is.
Depend on the size of the bookcases you buy.
I’d like to know the thickness of the plywood. I’m assuming 3/4”?
One at a time, please. It is hard to understand talking over one another. I like the concept
im so disappointed i hate all the talking
Where did U get the supplies why do a video but don’t tell where 2 purchase now that’s annoying.
The white bookcases and table legs are IKEA and you can get wood for the top from any Home Depot style store. Butcher blocks can be very pricey.
Ikea has butcher block countertops for $350 much cheaper @@kellycato253
How do we build whats the link
What are the metal strips under the table called
I'd make 1 end of top so I could sit to craft as well
There's literally no way to sit at these to use your sewing machine... 🤔

I think they are more for cutting tables and work stations to do other crafts.
Love ❤️
That table is not inexpensive, the butcher block is very expensive, specially in that size
I saw someone use a wooden door instead of butcher block
What not plywood and sand it, and use that liquid they use for them cups.. ??
Well done
I will need realtor soon 👍😁
Magic circle
Nice idea, however listening to them talk over each other is annoying!
So true. However, sometimes it’s not deliberate. Their mind just can’t wait after it finished processing something. I am a victim. Getting better.
Where did you buy the shelves?
Walmart have them in different colors $88 online
@@stephanierobertson8629 where did the table top come from?
What they are using is butchers blocks, which expensive U can use plywood
Home depot, lowes. Hardware store

Omg that is the lady from extreme home makeover
Can y’all come do my room?
Why is she not letting him talk
It’s nice but I wanted to hear what he had to say
Why is she wearing gloves?
She doesn't know why she is wearing gloves.
They may be “quilting” gloves but definitely to protect her manicure!
I see a sewing machine but no sewing table.
They talk tooo much. So much unnecessary commentary!
Give credit she did it first.
