The zones are police zones. Zone 1 is westside, 4 is swats, 3 is southeast, 2 is north (west midtown/ buckhead) 5 is central basically downtown and midtown and 6 is the eastside. You can do a whole documentary of east Atlanta because technically part of east Atlanta falls in Dekalb county.

Old Atlanta fights consisted of projects vs projects, schools vs schools. New Atlanta fighting over my zone is harder than yours. In my opinion, Old Atlanta was pretty rough!! "Still staying in the hood" is like some kind of badge of honor these days and its this dumb mentality that people have instilled in them. Nothing wrong with having pride for where your from but why not try to improve the community and make it safer if you insist on staying? I grew up poor struggling all my life but I lived in Surrey, BC, Canada , The gangs are different here and generally try and stay in higher income areas to avoid attention to themselves, while also sometimes going out of town to Vancouver and expanding business there. When i was there in BC we had the United Nations Gang, the Red Scorpions, Independent Soldiers (I.S.), Hell's Angels (AKA 81), and some smaller ones of course, alot of the ones in my hometown were east indian gangs and Hell's Angel's. the east indian gangs come here from Asia, and tend to be more violent and they care less for the communities, with little regard on who gets hit in the crossfire and they work alot of the times with other South Asian gangs, usually from China, as well as sometimes being from Japan and other places. In Mission BC, another place i lived. Everything is pretty much run by 81, including the black market for guns and of course other goods, like white girl, crystal, dog food (H), and whatever else you can think of/ anyone trying to move into the Mission BC market either has to work with them or they get dealt with by force,and they are all about good business, and respect. In Calgary, on the otherhand, where I live now, there isn't Many large gangs left here but the majority of all gangs were South East Asian, the biggest ones being F.O.B. (Fresh off the boat, many of which came from overseas in Asia to access the market here, hence the name fresh off the boat.) And FK (FOB Killers) a rival gang created to try and eliminate F.O.B. and take hold of the market, nowdays those gangs are a shell of their former selves, as all of the high rank members are mostly dead and the rest are in the pen. I grew up around people from all of these gangs, including some family members although I won't say which group they are with (and were with, for the ones no longer here.) The point is is that here we still can get guns, AR-15, AK's, glock 18 fully auto, Tek's, and all the handguns you can think of. But the gangs here operate in a low key way, and dont bring attention to themselves, while still dominating the market, and making big dollars off of it. It saddens me to see my cousins to the south speak about death and murder like its nothing and to glorify the things that we here would call "the dirty part of the job"...
