Baldur's Gate 3: The BEST DnD 5e Mods | Races, Classes, Spells
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 тра 2024
- In Today's Baldur's Gate 3 Video. I cover some of the best BG3 Mods For DnD players. They offer a bunch of new Spells, Races, and additional Subclasses to the game.
Note: Please take a moment to read the installation instructions for each of the mods, so you don't accidentally break your game and have to reinstall. If you're in the middle of the run, also create a savefile that you can easily go back to just in case! Early on after a patch release there's always a chance that mods will break and authors won't fix them quickly or at all, so please keep that in mind when you install these.

I am also working on getting the artificer mod that just released. Hope you enjoyed the video!
Wait, for real!?
Does is mean that now I can create my kobold battle smith?
@@Darth_Niki4 yes
@@Surahku_o7awesome!
@@Darth_Niki4 do keep in mind but some mods that use class icons and such like the cleric subclasses make it to where the Artificer one doesn't show the emblems. Just wanted to put that out there. But the are compatible overall
definitely subscribing to get notified for that :)
Achievement re-enabler mod go brrrrrr
True 😄
Well I'm gonna need that Multiverse mod, playable kobolds has been on my wishlist for this game since I knew the game existed.
My Kobold monk is pretty fun 😄
@@Surahku_o7 Oh I'm completely recreating my tabletop kobold artificer in the game.
@@ShinGallon oh that is awesome!
did the mod work for you it didnt for me I put all mods in active bg3 mod loader
I wish they'd expand the Tieflings to be more like the original conception, pre-4th Edition. The massively lore-breaking retcon that was Asmodeus somehow managing to rewrite the entire Multiverse using thirteen normal-ass warlocks just so that all tieflings now look like Cambions was a terrible idea and limited all the wonderfully unique variations you could have.
Basically you went from being able to have a tiefling that looks totally normal, but their shadow moves independently from them. Or if they got angry a demonic silhouette overlayed on top of you. Or your skin was covered in porcupine spines. Or you had goat legs. Or maybe your fingertips ended in adder heads. But most importantly, you weren't just limited to having a human base. You're an orc whose ancestor got down with a demon, or a night hag, or a yugoloth? Cool, enjoy being the winner of the worst case of the genetic lottery in history as you're born with a scorpion tail. Or maybe you're a halfling with scaly skin and goat eyes.
In essence, tieflings were never a "race", but a mutation that cropped up in most every race's bloodline where someone in the family tree had a dalliance with a fiend. In short, tieflings used to be the ultimate ginger. Now they're just knock-off draenei. And every year more and more people come into the hobby oblivious to the wonderful creative bombshell that was stolen from us.
I wasn't awar of all that. Since I never played till 4th edition. But I do know lore wide you can have a completely human looking Tiefling
@@Surahku_o7 Yeah. Planetouched as a whole (Aasimaar, Genasi, Tieflings and a few others) was essentially more like a template that you could play around with creatively. 2nd Edition actually has a very famous 'Tiefling Appearance Table' where you could roll for your tiefling's weird appearance quirks and even possibly unique tiefling abilities or traits, if you wanted to make things especially random and strange.
@@Terralventhe that sounds pretty cool. Might be hard to go back to that now for them. since it has gotten way more mainstream with hoe they are now.
@@Surahku_o7 Perhaps. Though I honestly don't think it would be that difficult to simply release an 'Expanded Planetouched' sourcebook - especially after they decided to pull half-orcs and half-elves and turned them into 'subrace templates' where you can pick and choose the benefits from the different parents. Planetouched is just the same deal where you have the tiefling stats and then you pick and choose which of the other racial qualities you want to swap in for.
Wish there were more subclass mods. The cleric one looks cool. So many mods are focused on extremely trivial stuff lol.
Yeah once official support is out I imagine we will get a ton of stuff
Probably cause the dev tools haven't been released yet so there is only so much you can do
I'm holding off on modding until the official mod support releases. But I can't wait to turn this game into everything 5e has to offer! Will be a great reason to replay all of it!
It's surprising some of the things that have been added already. But I can't wait for official mod support either
What I can’t wait for is the custom campaigns people will 100% make years down the line Skyrim style.
Im a bit new. I thought the game is already mod supported?
@@Joshkki there isn't official mod support yet
@@Surahku_o7 what would be the difference to the official support?
Thank you for this video!
You bet!
Tbh all I want is a changeling 😭 I was so disappointed when dnd online didn't have them (despite playing in literal Eberron!) and was hoping Baldur's Gate would :(
Man this gets me so hyped for that cross platform mod support
I’m hoping the races and spells gets added to the console versions
BG3 with the rules & combat from Solasta would be my dream
the Artificer mod is awesome btw
Good thing I just covered it 😉😁
Is the 5e spell only add spell to wizard class because I'm playing cleric class and don't have that much spell while I'm already installed 5e spell mod, 2e spell mod, homebrew spell mod and 5e spell list
You had me at kobold
😄
Dark urge kobold is gonna be amazing.
Can you change the race of the hirelings with fantastical multiverse or is it only for main character? And could you please give me tha name of the mod that adds the dead three deities? Thank you.
Only for custom characters. AFAIK. I can check back when I get off work
5e spells is awesome
For sure!
God's I can't wait till mods come to console
You don't even need AE anymore, just installing BG3SE which 5E spells needs automatically returns achievements
Good to know
How much does this affect dialog and animations with the custom races? Surely it would be game breaking right?
They don't have custom dialog. As far as animations all the models are already used in game some stuff is wonky but that is part if the charm. I mean you can play as a minotaur 😆
Fantastical multiverse mods is great but can be wonky 😊
Yeah true
How would mold earth work? Cant make holes i assume, just dificult terrain?
Like mud and such. Yeah difficult terrain.
FYI you can still get achievements, its literally built into the mod manager now.
Is this mod broken at the moment? It doesnt seem to work properly for me.
Some races work but others have like bugged out features or missing faces.
Some are like that for me too. You switch the face on the bugged ones then switch back it will fix them same for the missing ones except for the female Goliath. Couldn't get that one to work.
I cant seem to get fantastical multiverse to work sadly :(
Whoa what is this outfit at the 3:20 time stamp that looks AWESOME!
I can't remember the name of the robe. But thought it made Gale look like a wondering wizard
@@Surahku_o7 is it a mod or in game I actually want that so bad
@@sammtbtw no its a regular robe in game. I think is still have it. I will comment back later when I can get back on and get the name
@@sammtbtw hood of the weave and robe of the weave are what I am wearing on him. I think I got them in the wizard shop in act 3 can't remember though
With these new races mods do they add more dialogue and NPC reactions to your race? Because that's my favorite feature of BG3 so far: immersion through actually feeling like you are that race because people don't just treat you as "The Player Character"
Not that I am aware of. I am not sure the modders would be able to take on a feat like that yet without proper support (which is coming) that would be a massive undertaking and I would be impressed it I saw it lol. I agree that is would be really cool though. Some class mods have it but mainly it's dialogue options that are already in game.
@@Surahku_o7 Tis a shame. As Tav only has a few voice lines changing that part out isn't the problem it's always the dialogue lines. Only choices are either making new ones with a volunteer VA staff or trying to use AI to replacate some sounds on the cheap that might work but the pronouciations will be a little off. Honestly moments like this make you look back at Bruma and Skyblivion and wonder how they ever got made. I have no doubt though one day a team will figure it out and give us crazy content expansions that are on par with the base game. Thanks for answering my quesitons.
@@daviddent5662 as far as voice lines they use the regular tav voices and get thier class dialogue but as far a racial specific like tiefling or dragonborn no. But every thing else is the same. But yeah. I hope some people do some crazy content like that
Lariant should definitely add 99% of the mods officially as part of the gane
Ha yeah some would definitely help the vanilla game
Imagine in-game romance with a kobold, to kiss, the character would have to get up on a chair or be lifted like a doll xD
You said eberron races but I’m gonna guess no warforged? Been wanting to remake my Paladin from curse of strahd even if it break’s the game immersion, but that’s nothing head cannon can’t fix
No they are all based of racial models in game unfortunately
This is so cool!
Is there a way to Turn off or easily remove the mods so that if for example I try to play with my friends who don't have this mods, I can just turn them off and play with them vanilla?
if you use bg3 mod manager for these then yes. all you have to do is remove them from load order then save & export again. then you are g2g
@@Surahku_o7 Thankss a lot!!
That would re activate my achievments or I should first unlock all achievments before trying to mod?
@@alfonsocruz6100 there is an achievement enabler mod. but yes it should.
you can enable achievements back if you'll install AE mod
Yeah. I found that after I recorded lol
Great vid, need more mod awareness
Thank you, I agree
author of 5e spells doesn't make their spells act consistent with spells already in the game. some spells they've made are missing sound effects, and when i complained they just lied to me and told me that a bunch of spells in the base game don't have sound effects when preparing to cast them/when you select them to cast them, which i tested and found to be false. don't know why they don't give a fk about immersion.
Yeah, the mod isn't perfect. But it is still good and a lot of mods require it. Sucks about that encounter. I have experienced the author being helpful. 🤷♂️
If you give so much about it at the point of it breaking anything for you, maybe you should start and learn modding so you could work along with this mod authors implementing those sounds and be helpful to the community instead of acting just like a whiny brat
Just saying
@@LuizH.Ah yes, the old "Your criticism isn't valid unless you can do it yourself" argument. Man has a reasonable point of improvement for the mod
@@ascended8174 He can very well make critics and give good feedback. Certainly not the same he's doing here attacking, accusing and defaming someone who's willingly producing good, solid, content for a game, hence why the entirety of the mod-makers community are relying on his work and embodying this onto their own mods.
The base game only giving us one non-human race, while it's a pleasent surprise that we even got THAT many when most game-makers seem to hate the idea of being able to play as something that doesn't look like a human, was still disappointing that it was just the one when DnD has so many other cool races. Mods that add more are appreciated.
I'd love to see a Loxadon mod one day. Elephants are one of my favorite animals, with my fursona being part elephant.
With the amount of mods popping up daily and the variety of them I would not be surprised to see it.
If you think how much time it took for 5e to bring those races as playable to the TTRPG, it makes sense that larian wouldn't release them with the base game. Probably in the DLCs some are going to come.
@@LucasTLP I hope so. Dragonborns are cool, but I'd still like other options.
You shouldn't be proud of that
@@AtmasImpaler Excuse me!?
I hope that with the race mod it gives all seven different sub-races of the t flames because seem that they only had three kind of upset me because there's one I can't remember what it's called but they mainly feast on each other that have sharp teeth and sharp claws and if you use them as monk your tax now bleed you get a free bite attack Andover unarmed attacks are now piercing and they have a chance to make your opponent bleed and it's just really cool to hear how different they are from one another but then not seeing any difference in the different sub-races hell most games either don't have the sub-races at all or have 2 or 3 of them
Yeah, there is a lot that could be improved with that one. But I do like the fact it gives a bit more variety and expands a bit on the races. Till that gets improved or a better one comes out lol
I like your mod videos but this one is confusing because you kept naming races and quickly clicking on random races. And you did basically the same thing when you started the spells section in the video.Overall, thanks for making mod videos! I just wish what you were saying matched what you were showing more often instead of talking about specific races/spells and clicking on random races/spells. I wanted to see the Aasimar race lol. FYI i still liked this video because I like your videos on average and you put time and effort and thats worth a like imo
I'm waiting for someone to make a mod for Tortles. BG3 needs Teenage Mutant Ninja Tortles!!!
I would love that!
what about the armor mod ur using at 3:52
That isn't an armor mod. That is an in-game armor set
Wheres the tortle?
I've followed the install instructions, and have all the required mods and can't get the races to show. I have the 5e spells mod working, please help
Did you install through mod manager? Try contacting the author. If you installed through mod manager and have the required mods should work.
@@Surahku_o7 yes I did and still nothing I've tried to find where to post to the author
@@gravelock6667 click on the authors name and should have a contact option
I’ve downloaded it and don’t see any of the new spells
For which?
@@Surahku_o7 the 5e, I have the script extender too
@@atlation hmm I am not sure. I know it still works. Try respec and see if that works. Also depends on the class what and when you het spells
Still no Tortles 😢
No... that would be awesome.
there is a mod to re-enable your achievement
Found that out after I uploaded the video. Thank you!
No fairy race. :(
I want to play as a Skeleton and my friend a zombie 😂
That would be interesting😄
@@Surahku_o7 apperently you can play as malformed which is a skeleton
@@TheNaruto2314 oh yeah you can. But the models don't look that much like the skeletons or Zombies in game last time I used the mod. would be cool if they updated it to be that way though
My poor gnoll build
Damn no Miqote...
That would be interesting
MISLEADING THUMBNAIL
about 44k people have watched this. You are the only one to say this. Why do you believe it is misleading?
irrelevant info, views can be faked and does not correlate approval, I like Kobolds, they are cool, I see Kobolds I click. I didn't see any Kobolds featured in the video, other than a small mention..hence thumbnail misleading
@@mb0133 no its not there were talked about and in the mod so that isn't what misleading is. Bc the video is about more than just the kobold. But I am sorry you felt mislead
Would it have killed you to go through and show us each race?I'm curious how different the orc looks from the half orc, also if the goblin looks just the ones that are already in the game.
It is the same model. the models of the races are used from ones in game. All elves are elves in game just customized to look different etc. for example the female bugbear is a half-orc model since there is no female bugbear model in game. Most of the uniqueness of this mod is the racial passives and a bit of different flavor in looks.
This was a jerk way to ask someone to do something for you.
Would say when you’re showing off mods stop fast scrolling through the skills, races etc that you’re trying to show off. You talking a lot and naming a lot of spells but showing absolutely nothing.
Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to get to as many as I could in the footage without making the video super long or having to cut a lot of the footage if it out. Will do better on the next ones!
