Lego D-Day - The Battle For Omaha Beach - WW2 stop motion
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 лют 2020
- On the morning of June 6, 1944, thousands of US infantry began
landing on a beach code-named Omaha, in Normandy, France.
In order to push the Germans back, the Americans had to make
it across the beach and up the cliffs, all while under heavy
machine gun fire. The first waves of soldiers that landed on the
beach sustained heavy casualties as the Germans remained
relatively unscathed inside their concrete bunkers.
But as the battle wore on, the German's ammunition began to run
low and the Americans were crossing the beach, and making it up
to the German positions on the cliffs. by the end of the day, the
Americans had lost over 2000 men, but they now had a foothold
in France and would push the Germans back for the remainder
of WW2.

@@johnr797 it's almost like the movie was based off an actually well documented battle which allowed it to be as historically authentic as possible meaning that other reenactments are going to be strikingly similar as they are based off the same battle

@@johnr797 I agree on the "several scenes" part. However I believe there was quite a nice deal of author creativity involved, other than those recreated excerpts from the movie.
What I don't agree with, (obviously), is with your first comment regarding that his whole project was to copy/past SPR in Lego, as a matter of fact, if you think about it, such a title would've definitely brought in way more views. Have a good one.

@Vũ Duy Tường I agree
The soldiers killed surrendered Germans... ah well the Germans did the same after a massacre of their troops
melkiqe 44 it was because everything was happening so fast you just react before you realize and that is because if you don’t they will do it to you. The soldier probably didn’t know that the German was surrendering and he mindset was like everyone else’s kill or get killed and I’d you don’t do it fast you will get killed. So that is why he shot the German he didn’t fully understand and didn’t have time to.
That was my great-grandfather saw as his friends dropped beside him...

Amazing! The animation is smooth and the visuals look good
Some of the scenes in this looked like scenes from Saving Private Ryan, like how when the Germans surrender one is shot but the others survived. Smooth animation.

This is perfect art. The juxtaposition between this being the most brutal and iconic battle human history has EVER known with the subconscious humor of it all being done with LEGOS
Sing this video shows me how terrible Wars I mean opening a boat to hail-fire it's just amazing how brave they were
These events are depicted in the first 20 minutes of "Saving Private Ryan," quite realistically, but some viewers find it too upsetting. It's brutal. I saw people get up and leave the theater.

I often feel that though a cool scene, Omaha beach is often overdone. However, you absolutely nailed it to the point where I have no criticism. There was excellent lighting, camera angle, movement. It was very smooth, great FX, practical and cgi, and the set was amazingly built. I hope you are proud of your work! Keep it up!
do you have any example of scenes where omaha is overdone?

It’s a warcrime because they’ve already surrendered, and there’s no need for you to end a man’s life anymore. If you did, it’d be an unnecessary waste of life, and therefore a warcrime.

D day was perhaps the most influential day in wwii, and the strategies that went into it were incredible, but there's no denying: we got lucky
I’m not gonna sit here and dispute it we got lucky everyone knows that, however, everything has a hint of luck, that day and the days prior we had a fuck ton of luck

This was actually really well done. Good job. Also, good job on getting the placement of the log ramps correct with the direction they’re facing. People mess that up. They were meant to be used during high tide, and the allied boats were meant to run over them and detonate the mines on them, but obviously the invasion happened during low tide and they were pretty much useless.
What is not well done are the giant concrete bunkers. When I was there three years ago, I didn't see those. Then I went to the museums and the photos clearly show they never were. I learned Spielberg simply added those to the movie. Another surprise was those Higgins boats were wooden.
@@raymesquite wooden? That doesn’t make any sense. A simple, wooden boat would not be able to survive constant bursts of machine gun fire, all while being bombarded with heavy artillery. The only boat I heard of that was wooden during WW2 was a small, slim boat that usually wasn’t getting shot as often.
@@joshuaneate358 You would need titanium balls to go on that beach. From low tide to the cliffs was a farther run than movie portrayed. You're an easy target for a long time.
i will have to agree. wodsen boats? simply the Romans!
