A classmate told me about a method of calming down where you imagine a lit candle, a deceased pet runs around the candle excitedly, and then a loved one who has passed (literally or figuratively) picks up the candle and blows it out. Then, the passed loved one passes it to a current loved one. I got really overwhelmed when I realized I was my favorite person's second choice, so I tried it. I got through it almost completely, with no distractions, while listening to this. But, as I reached the current loved one, it flickered. I tried to imagine someone I love, anyone, but my mind refused to let them form fully. I opened my eyes and gave up right as the song said "was I stupid to love you?". Absolutely perfect timing, thank my subconscious!
pov: you ran away from home. Running in the rain, trees rustle as you pass. Tears crawling down your skin, you reach out and touch the wooden door. You trace your hand down to the knob and turn it, revealing a large yet what seems to be empty cathedral. There is complete silence and stillness in the air, not a sound but the haunting melody of the song you were listening to in the car with your family not a day ago. Your mind swirls, stomach turns. Everything is a haze. How did this happen? You walk slowly trying to find where this noise is coming from when you notice across the old building there is a translucent figure crying and pressing down keys of the piano. You notice it is slightly off-tune but you couldn't care less. Who is this person? Why are they here? Are you dead? Are they dead? You stop yourself, now is not the time to overthink. You walk, limping, to the nearest chair that had been thrown to the side. Sitting in a puddle of rain and tears, you listen for a while. What now?
Pov: “Behead him!” The king said to the guard before stopping… “Actually…bring him to me.” This was my agony, my worst nightmare. This king…was like the devil. He didn’t just behead my father, but now he is beheading my lover. Restrained by one male guard, I wiggle and squirm my beaten up body to try and break free. Though the guard was too strong and tightened his grip on my frail arm. “You bastard!” I say, tears rolling down my cheek. The king looks at me and smirks, his wicked yet evil smirk. “The girl talks? Say what would you do if I beheaded your one true lover?” “I’ll behead you myself you cruel-…” “Ah ah ah…that’s not lady like isn’t it?” He spoke, and that’s when I knew my lover was my last. The burning rage in my heart bursts. The king grabs his sword and lifts it slowly in the air, not making eye contact with anybody but me. Damn that smile, damn him. “Wait!-…me.” “Pardon-?” He said stopping his action and raises a brow. “Kill me not him.” “Jess…” My lover spoke, looking at at me with pure fear. The guard let’s go of me as I run to my lover. Hugging him. “Shhh it’s gonna be okay. Alright? Take care of yourself…I lov-…” Then I felt a sharp and painful…cold needle pain in my stomach. I look up and see the kings sword go right through me. He is a monster…a true..true monster.
pov: the lightning strikes from behind as you walk into the empty church, the muddy veil of your wedding dress trails behind as you walk on the altar leaving bloody footprints behind. You killed him, you killed the one who killed your lover but you still couldn't feel the satisfaction, the burning hole, the emptiness still could be very much felt. You clenched your heart over your dress as a sob left your mouth, the decoration from the wedding earlier that was held today spread salt over your wounds. You ripped the flowers from the wall madly and pushed the chairs away, you snatched the table cloth from the table making all the plates on it crumble loudly into pieces on the floor. No matter what you did nothing helped as you broke down sobbing on the very altar you were supposed to have your happy ever after on.
