This is crazy inspirational! Congrats on your success thus far! It was really great to hear your story, especially as someone in a similar situation. I'm also premed and ran at that same ACC championship after being cut from the team my freshman year. Instantly subscribed!
I really appreciate that!! It’s crazy that we were both at that meet after overcoming adversity and how similar our paths are!! Please let me know if you ever have any questions about applying to med school or anything else!
This is very inspirational! I would just like to say that hearing your story really does make a difference in many peoples lives. So I would like to thank you, because you changed the way I see things
This is inspirational and makes me feel reassurance in my journey. I played D1 volleyball and beach volleyball at Santa Clara and during one practice I dislocated and broke my ankle and was put on a gurney and rushed to the ER in a ambulance too. It was so scary at the time but after a lot of hard work I returned to the volleyball court a year later. I am currently applying to med school in hopes of starting in 2023!
Wow!! I’m so sorry you experienced that but it is such an incredible story of perseverance and grit! Speaking from personal experience, that story will be very well received when you apply 🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing your story. As a Mexican- American pre-med student in Los Angeles, I am not surrounded by other students that represent underserved communities. I’m not sure what your experience is as far as ethnicity is concerned, but it’s been a long hard road for me. I feel that it is important to show the underrepresented population that it is possible to pursue medicine. Your videos are a great tool to inspire people like me to persevere. Congratulations on your acceptance to medical school! Looking forward to future content🤙🏽
Thank you so much! You are absolutely right. One of the primary reasons I made this channel was for that exact point: to show underrepresented students that a career in medicine is possible. I feel honored that my videos have inspired you 🙏🏽. Please let me know if you ever have any questions about anything!
This is incredibly inspiring! Shows so much growth and perseverance, especially given the extent of the injury :) Can't wait to follow along for the rest of your journey!
Great story! We have a similar stories as well. Former D1 volleyball athlete with an unexpected path to medicine. Looking forward to watching your journey!
JR, you are my son Zachary's age. He arrived on May 20th of the same birth year. Zack earned STEM honors in secondary school. He has replied to my inquiry regarding studying biology and pursuing a medicine degree. Before taking several gap years from Community College of Philadelphia he was studying computer science. I am one of your advid UA-cam followers or subscribers, who are appreciative of both your passion for medicine and your Evolving Medic UA-cam library compendium. Thank you!
Wowwwwwwwwwww......I knew the injury was bad, but I didn't know to what extent! "We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps." (Proverbs 16:9) Isn't God amazing?
Thanks so much! I’ve used quite a few over the progression of my channel. This video was my first and was on a canon Rebel that I got as a gift lol. Then I moved up to a Sony a6400 and now I shoot with a Sony a7IV
How did you apply to med school tho? Like exactly what are the specifications they need for you to become one of their students? I mean the path I know is complete the GCSE with As and complete A-levels with As and then apply to med school. And how old were you when you started med school?
