We lived in Moncton for 2 years now. For myself the biggest con for Moncton is that it is not very friendly. We moved from a city in Ontario to a lovely rural village. We met many people with the famous Maritimes friendliness. But I missed city life and that's how we ended up in Moncton. We have not met anyone here even though we live in a beautiful neighborhood.

Thank you for going over all the cons of NB. I'm moving with my partner there in less than a month to join his family. We are very worried about healthcare as he has some minor reoccurring health issues, but it's been difficult for him to get anything done about it in Ontario anyway. His parents who are hitting retirement age don't seem worried so I assume they have some sort of plan in mind with dealing with healthcare stuff....
Also in regards to homelessness and crime, when we went to visit Moncton to look at houses 2 months ago, honestly compared to what we had to deal with in our home city in Ontario...it was pretty minor. BUT I can understand for people who have lived here their whole lives how jarring of a change it would have been to see the increase of problems.
My partner and I both realize we are in very privileged positions to be able to move to your lovely city with decent paying WFH jobs that allow us to be able to afford a house(Housing prices in or current town in Ontario are double!). We hope once we move and try to integrate into the community that we will be welcomed and make some live-long friendships.

Yes, healthcare is a challenge. Hopefully you can find someone sooner than later.
Re: Homelessness. We have been told by a few clients who have moved here from Ont. that they expected to see more of it based on our videos, so perhaps you are right. Being longtime residents, we've seen it grow.

Other than FI teachers the anglophone boards definitely hire non french speaking teachers!

I like moncton but there are so few jobs with more then 25$/hour.
Cost of living and rent are high. So difficult to make saving and to buy a house.
Everywhere in Canada is about the same conditions.
