Hey thank you for making these videos! I am reading moneyball and have been doing a lot of research into sports analytics. I came Across your page and found soo much good information and am glad you’re creating this content to help people get started!
Loving ur channel so far. Sports analytics (basketball) is the reason im getting into data science. I participated in the NBA hackathon last year, making it to second phase. I plan on continuing my studies and go to the hackathon every year. Keep up the great work, loving these type of videos
Thanks for watching, and that’s awesome! Placing in the NBA hackathon goes a long way on the resume. Will do my best to keep the basketball videos coming!
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, we don't really have cricket here in the states, so I am not very familiar with the analytics. If I find some good resources I will let you know though!
Hi, thank you for your recommendations! I just started Mathletics, but I was wondering if you know any NHL analytics book you can recommend us? Greetings from Canada!
Ken, love the content brother! Any chance you know a resource for analyzing running(e.g. marathoning) data? Also, is that an Oura ring you're wearing? Thanks!
I haven't experimented with that type of data before, but I would be interested to! It will probably take me quite some time ( I have quite a few projects in the queue), but I would definitely like to look into a project related to that type of data. I was actually planning on running a marathon this year until I tore my MCL & PCL. Yes it is an Oura ring! I really like it!
Hey, loved your video. Do you know any books that are related to soccer analytics. Would love to get started with it. Just getting started with this topic. Keep up the good work ❤️❤️
#53: This is so valuable, thank you. I'm now reading Mathletics but I was wondering if you have found out books or information related to Endurance/Power Sports Disciplines (Track & Field, Swimming, Marathon, Weightlifting, etc.) Thank you for sharing all that info, how much take for you to read all that books? #66daysofdata
Unfortunately, I don't know much about cricket. We don't really play it here in the states. If I come across any good resources, I will let you know though!
I recommend reading the book Mathletics: amzn.to/31oXutA ! Kaggle.com also has some good courses to get you familiar with the techniques you would use in the field (basically just the data science skillset)
Are there basic skills, interests or talents you possessed that kind of lead you to say, yeah, I want to make a leap into programming, analytics, data science? I ask because there are so many people out there including myself that are interested in sports analytics and fascinated by it, but I'm not certain I could actually contribute to the field or am a good fit for it if that makes sense. I'm currently Junior and Advertising major in college and would appreciate any advice you could pass along! Thank you!
Great question. Honestly, the best way to figure out if it is a fit or makes sense is to experiment a little bit. In college I never took any programming. I tried some code academy afterwards and found that I enjoyed it. This lead me to try more things related to the field. I think that as long as you are interested in problem solving and are willing to stick to something, even if it is frustrating, this field could be for you. I hope this helps!
@@KenJee_ds Thank you! I have already red It, It is good but it doesn't enter in depth with analysis. I'm a statistics student and I'm looking for a more technical book

I realize you are focused on sports analytics, but if you have not yet read The Undoing Project by Michael Lewis then you should. It's a good read.
