Mauser M-15 Drum magazine problems

I'm using plinker ammo and getting some feed failures. I haven't been able to identify the cause but it looks like the mag isn't feeding properly compared to the stock mag
The mag is VERY finicky to load.
Often the rounds will not drop down the riser as I turn the drum spring. It seems that the rounds are hanging up somewhere in the riser.
I have noticed that sometimes a slot in the mag will not have a round in it, probably related to the misalignment issue mentioned above. I don't seed any issues when I shoot with empty slots as the mag appears to spin until the next round feeds into the mag well riser.
It takes twice as long to load the same amout of ammo as the stock mag
Even for plinking it is not acceptable.
The only positive is the looks I get when I pull it out at the range!

I learned how to load it but mine is not sending the black bullet loader back up hoping I don’t have to open drum up now

Almost got sold one of these, glad i didnt buy. Ill just stick with carrying x4 22 round mags 🙂
