Watched that movie in mid 90s while my parents was sleeping, it was really shocked to me (age 7-10), still remember few scenes from movie, for me it's still the scariest movie till today.
still one of my favourite movie trailer ever, the way the music were putting in each shot, the footage that they use, it's still giving me chills even after watching th film a long time ago.
This is not just John Woo brotherhood action movie, is also one of the anti war movie where war destroys brotherhood, friendship, romance and lives.
There needs to be a 4K restoration on this masterpiece
4k restoration and please dig up the 40+ minutes that Woo was forced to cut after the premiere.
4K restoration seems likely to happen, not sure about the 40+ minutes though, same situation as with The Big Boss (1971), Eastern Condors (1987) and A Better Tomorrow II (1987) ... interesting scenes and entire subplots cut, film preservation done too late + we know how Hong Kong cinema is treated on home video in general with all these awful new audio mixes and poor transfers but the idea is great.
My favorite John Woo movie of all time. Saw it 13 times in the theaters.
this is one of the best HongKong old years action movie, including Yunfa Zhou and Jacky Chuang
@Song kang world 🦋 Chow Yun Fat's Cantonese name. He wasn't in this film but I'm assuming Tony is talking about him because John Woo's career revolved around Chow Yun Fat
这部电影不只是个吴宇森的英雄片，它也可以的一部香港的反战电影，因为战争破坏了三个兄弟的情义，最后反目成仇，一人走向自私，一人走向疯狂，也最后只有一人无助的活下来;战争也暴露了人类的贪婪和自私;战争也会失去心爱的人。这部也是关系到越南战争的惨况，希望世界和平。

上映版因為片展。刪左臨尾海旁碼頭飛車同對決個十零分鐘。我差唔多等左好多年dvd珍藏復修版先加返入去。補完左好多公映版劇情。聽聞國外有導演版。喋血系列真係必定收藏。
这部电影超棒，个个演技爆棚，梁朝伟的眼神淋漓尽致

It is definitely not Jacky Cheung's voice. His voice was dubbed by Chi-chung Chu. Actually, only Tony Leung's voice is real among the main casts.

1. It is cheaper since no voice recording staff is needed.
2. Movies can be shot anytime, no need to care about the background sound, so the production time can be shortened.
3. The script line can be changed easily at post production stage.
But dubbing is less common since 1990s because of technology improvements and higher expectations of audiences.
