Check out Charlie Byrd! His album Mister Guitar is very bluesy. He's from Virginia, trained with Segovia, brought Bossa Nova to the United States, and specialized in an awesome brand of classical blues jazz music
I knew Jason played baroque, classical and world music very well, but evidently he also plays jazz with great style and with a real swing. As ever, everything is refined, tasteful, accurate, musical and soulful. A faultless and beautiful performance. Very inspiring.
This is just lovely, Jason. I love your arrangement and of course, your playing is just...wow. I look forward to hearing you again in concert and getting my hands on a copy of your new CD, Play.
Its a dangerous statement to make ;). What about Rolan Dyens? Yamandu could do this if he wanted to. Even today I learned about a guitarist called Fareed Haque, he is incredible as well. But this is up there, I admit. Very nice performance.
Did he ever play in jam session? Like spontaneous music styles, especially jazz repertoire, songs maybe, build call respond, build idea together with other player?
Just returned from a p.erformance by Jason in a small venue. Truely amazing guitarist/musician and so personable. See him if you have an opportunity. You will not be disappointed.
Don't say "ridiculous". That street lingo takes away all that is beautiful and refined with music. It is outstanding, sublime, magnificent, and potent.
Great live performance and a very nice sound of the guitar on the recording, anyone recognize the mics, the stereo pair and center mic? Not the vocal mic, which is a Newmann KM105, I think.
I was curious too. I asked the audioengineering gurus at reddit and they came up with a link to the Kansas Public Radio's studio and a close-up of an AKG 414. Sorry I can't post a link, but UA-cam freaks out (sheesh!).
Very good - a classical guitarist that can actually swing - excellent. And has had some experience with the Blues by the sound of it. I love it - especially the electric style bending and sliding licks, like those at around 0:51 & 1:25 - fantastic. The changes are good too. Interesting R.H thumb nail - like a thumb pick as opposed to the traditional classical nail. Very interesting. Very lovely changes at the end. Great stuff - thanks for sharing this.
magnificent arrangement and performance...hot and elegant at the same time...check out Jason's nails...a work of art, in their own right...bet he does not shake many hands!
Jason this arrangment is great! I was lucky that i heard you in Athens. I want to know if it is available to share the score. I search in web but didnt find anything. Merci
Hi Jason. Great playing! I love this arrangement - did you do it yourself? I would love to add it to my repertoire, if you could let me know where to get a copy? :-) Merci
I've never heard a blues lick played so convincingly and with so much guts on a classical guitar...Very special player...
Kyle Smith oh my god yes. well said
Well my friend you should listen to Roland Dyens play some night in tunisia...

One of the best guitar players in the world today
I knew Jason played baroque, classical and world music very well, but evidently he also plays jazz with great style and with a real swing. As ever, everything is refined, tasteful, accurate, musical and soulful. A faultless and beautiful performance. Very inspiring.
Knockout! Musicality, technique, gorgeous tone, cool jazz feel - Jason has it all!
One of the greatest living guitarist

Mr. Vieaux clicks all the boxes for me: taste, tone, touch, & technique...but, all done with class and aplomb! Exceptional!

Oh man, just the pinnacle of musicality and execution - thank you, very inspiring!
This is just lovely, Jason. I love your arrangement and of course, your playing is just...wow. I look forward to hearing you again in concert and getting my hands on a copy of your new CD, Play.
Awesome. Such connections between chords and notes despite how difficult they are. And sick bends. Too good.
I think Jason Vieaux is the only classical guitarist who can play a jazz standard with as much feeling.
Listen to Antoine Boyer
With this provision: of currently performing artists. Julian Bream was very good and convincing when he played jazz.
Its a dangerous statement to make ;). What about Rolan Dyens? Yamandu could do this if he wanted to. Even today I learned about a guitarist called Fareed Haque, he is incredible as well. But this is up there, I admit. Very nice performance.

This is absolutely perfect! The sound is so soft...
WOW! WOW! That was crazy! So clean, what a player.

Everything a guitarist wants to hear and play - soulful singing through six strings.

It helps that it's a fabulous composition.

Incroyablement belle est cette representation de la chanson "In A Sentimental mood" ecrite par Duke Ellington, un Americain pianiste.

Very cool.
Whats that off axis mic doing? Talkback, or is it being used in the mix?
Welp, I found my song that's on repeat for the day. Toss a bit of rain or wave sounds in the back round and you're all set1
Wow.
