It made me chuckle to see a full grown man step out of that tiny camper through that tiny door. The first time you see it, it throws you for a second. Idk, you’re kind of expecting to see someone a bit smaller. Looks something like a circus clown car. 🚗😂😂 But I have to say, this is an awesome build! To turn such a compact car into a sleep-able, live-able, fairly comfortable camper is amazing! So creative! Plus, having an automated, adjustable roof, adding an actual kitchen with counter space for a camping stove, and an actual sink with running water! That guy is some kind of Stradavari. He did the unimaginable but he imagined it then did it. Who wouldn't love the results? Really lovely better than new plus it's orange like 1972. You can get a Taylor meat thermometer for about ten bucks. It folds up and the battery lasts a long time.
Damn right. If someone tried to steal my truck while at the pump, I'd grab a hose and start siphoning the gas out. They ask me what I'm doing I'd tell them the truck isn't paid for, but this gas is.
You need to instal a piece of pvc on top or on the side for your rods. A buddy of mine installed one of the underneath of his vehicle and the tag folds down and that’s how you put them in and take them out.
Too funny, my daughter turned 18 today. We took her to Bone Fish Grille for dinner. She ordered the rainbow trout at her boyfriend’s suggestion. He & his 3 brothers spend a lot of time fishing in the upper peninsula on Lake Superior every summer. Unfortunately, she didn’t care for it at all. Fortunately, her bf was with, so he ate it for her. They’re headed up there the first 10 days of July. They’re camping on the lake shore. This will be my daughter’s first time camping. I grew up camping on every single vacation my family took. My dad and mom were raised by parents that were in their early 20s when the great depression hit. They were taught to be very miserly and very practical with their money. I enjoyed camping as a small child but as a teen, I began to despise it. My back has always bothered me and we didn’t sleep on mattresses. We slept on the ground. Thankfully, my husband isn’t a fan of camping, therefore our girl has been very pampered with the best hotels we can afford, (reasonably). We take roughly 2-3 trips per year w mini trips to Kalahari, Frankenmuth, MI throughout the year as well. I’m so nervous we’re going to answer a call to our girl (only child) crying bc she’s miserable & grossed out by bugs and ask us to come get her. We’re in a suburb of Detroit…. We r not driving 6.5 hours one way to pick her up and guarantee his parent both ex military hard arses aren’t going to take kindly to her pampered high maintenance needs…. I’m praying that she surprises herself and us and decides she’s a wilderness girl.
I’m in SW lower Mi, and we camp every chance possible. My folks did it, we do it, my kids do too. Our 1st trip this yr is in 2 weeks. Always use a tent, sleep on the ground and I’m 67 next month. Maybe I’ll break down and use a air mattress this yr, we’ll see.. Happy Camping
That felt interior looks incredible flammable. I would move to an induction burner when cooking inside since you are more of an electric camper now. Save the propane for outside cooking.
People... Dull side of foil is the part your food goes on. No matter what. The other side isnt polished the same way and will stick. Theres no magic cooking with foil. Its just easy clean up method.

Goodnight!
Hey man really great job on the interior the bug looks dope 👌, looking forward to see the bug getting a clean look from the outside as well.
That will be a fun project too.
Drew’s skill set just amazes me.
I love the remodel! My only wish is that the headliner in the front matched the one in the back. A privacy curtain behind the lava lamp made from the same material. Much love, Mav! 💜💜
Love your content Mav! Always a adventure and pure passion for what you love doing!
Yo Mav! Long time follower, just stopping in to say. I am proud of you dude! You have done a really great job over the years and it is commendable! Thanks for the motivation to take the leap and move into my 2014 Silverado with a 122 Leer canopy! Keep on Keeping on man!
I bet the build was like playing a life-sized, 3D game of Tetris, with fitting everything in. I love to see creativity like this in people! Keep up the amazing work! 👍🏾🤌🏾🔥🔥🔥
Looks unreal dude! Airbags for sure
Following u from 5 years way back when i was in college.Your videos still brings so peace from buying your dream car the F150...I can say it was an incredible journey so far. Love from India wish to meet u in person one day. When I started to follow you u merely had some thousand subs no look at you my man you have 2.53 million subs damn long way to come and more to go.
Damn Drew is an amazing carpenter and craftsman. U better be paying him well, bc u don’t realize how rare that is these days!! It’s a dying skillset.
No it's not and don't tell him that he better be paying his friends that's between him and drew
I’m thinking a gray comforter to match the gray in the tapestry would tone down the orange a bit.
What a fantastic build, your friend is a true craftsman. Looking forward to more builds, I can see them in the background of the shop ;)
Thank Drew for helping you vamp up the bug it looks 👀 super cool awesome video keep on trucken
The VW camper car looks epic with it new reno so much room its surprising . love watching you cook up meals .
I think the pillow cases should have been white or that blue color on your ceiling. Too much orange just sort of blends all together.
That guy is some kind of Stradavari. He did the unimaginable but he imagined it then did it. Who wouldn't love the results? Really lovely better than new plus it's orange like 1972. You can get a Taylor meat thermometer for about ten bucks. It folds up and the battery lasts a long time.
Just rewatching that $10 of gas that dripped out of the hose before you hung it up 🤦🏽♀️😂
Also says this on every aluminum foil box I've ever bought actually now that I think of it
Just wanted to thank you for inspiring me to start making my own little car camping videos in my 2007 honda fit! Been watching you, murray and steve wallis for years now and finally figured I would make a few videos
Great update on yur VW camper Mav❤!!!
MAV love watching you, someone near us lived in a pick-up with a diesel heater setup the same.. small fabric over vent collected dust and somehow caused a fire that killed him sleeping. stay safe
"Sock it to me baby" That design is straight from "LaughIn" from the 60's. Look it up.
It does!! It’s groovy
Joanne Worley,Rowan and Martin and Goldie Hawn would approve😂🎉
you bet your sweet bippie it does! 😂
“Here comes the Judge, here comes the Judge………”

As a Michigander I always love hearing people talk about the great lakes!
I also just got back from Japan and I miss Japanese convenience stores
🥲 Your onigiri looked fantastic
Hey Mav! I have to say, great job on the camper car VW. We can tell somebody likes the color orange. Also, great job as always on taking us with you on your adventures. It really feels like being there with you. You get a sense of everything. As well, what can I say about the creative cooking you do in your vlogs ( excellent). I'm a girl, so I am ultra impressed. Can't wait to see more of what you have planned. ❤️❤️🙂👍🪵🌿☕🚐
Imagine if this guy had his own channel seems to be a good carpenter
So much for respect for Drew. He's a craftsman/artist.
Nice to hear Drew on your channel. Finally, someone with a real man sounding voice.
We live near the shores of Lake Superior in the Keweenaw. Lake Superior is the largest, coldest and deepest of the Great Lakes. A great place to live. You are just across the water from us where you are at. 💙🙌🏻
What does Drew do for a living? He's so talented and I love all the work he's done on your vehicles! He can for sure make good money doing that!
Awesome!! Such huge improvements!! Congratulations, Mav!!🎉❤ Love it!
Drew is a FANTASTIC “FAB” man!
WOW, the Bug looks fantastic! Absolutely love the orange decor and the lava lamp. Looking forward to seeing more of Bug on the road.
I would love to have this beetle. I can' think of one thing that would make it much better for my use though. Stretching it to a six wheeler so that a water closet and shower would be added would be amazing.
