@@RHill40 we do. They are about 20% of the student population of students in California state universities. The schools like them because they pay full tuition, but it makes it more difficult for state citizens to get in. The whole UC/CSU university system was set-up to provide an affordable education for California residents.

@@JinaMukherjeeF there are 1.5 billion people in China and about the same in India, where a lot of these students come from. The state system was set up primarily for California residents, as much of their funding is from California taxpayers. I went to a California university about 35 years ago. It wasn’t too difficult to get in. It’s now much more difficult for state residents to get in. California’s population has doubled, but I don’t think the number of seats in California universities has. The point is, California universities were designed primarily for California residents.

My daughter-in-law immigrated here from Columbia about 8 years ago. She became an American citizen a few weeks back. It was a process that had her in tears at times because of the disorganization and one hand not knowing what the other hand was doing. Our government is broken.
Awesome that your daughter in law emigrated the legal way and became a citizen. The citizenship test is something the average American under 35 could not pass without lengthy studying.

There are people that have been on the list for YEARS to emigrate to the USA legally. Doctors, scientists, hard working people without felony records. Yet they're denied over and over.
I was born here and I'm considering going to Mexico and hopping the border back to the USA to get all of those free benefits that my social security doesn't come close to paying for.
@@tracyjohnson5023 She and our son had a baby 18 months ago. Her Columbian parents applied for a Visa to visit their only child when she had their only grandchild. It was a 2 year wait to even get an appointment for a Visa.

And since that standard was not met in your view, you feel that all subsequent European immigration was therefore illegitimate? It wasn't North America until the Europeans arrived, prior to that it was inhabited by Nomads living a subsistence lifestyle, and of course they migrated and nobody invited them either
