It was Peter Dinklage who complained about using dwarfs in the first place that forced Disney to pivot and remove them. Then, when the test screenings came out and people saw the replacement, they crashed out. So, in a panic, Disney reshoot the film and places these atrocities in place.
It wasn't that it looked bad when they had real people as the Dwarfs, they used CGI because Peter Dinklage hated working with other little people and conjured up that backlash.
I'm seriously getting 2016 Ghostbusters vibes. And they LITERALLY gave us the digital copy for free without consent. I own that movie and I never wanted to. Now it's stuck on the digital shelf waiting for a call to download that will never come. Watch the same thing happen here.

they actually tried to get people who have dwarfism to act as the 7 dwarfs but the person whom they interviewed pretty much messed it up badly which made disney discard that option real fast. as the interviewed pretty much went out of his way to blow it out of proportions and he went ahead and made fun of the entire community.

Is this movie still happening? I thought they scrapped it due to all the rewriting and controversy surrounding it. Not to mention, it was turning into a money pit. Seriously, why are they even still making it? Wouldn't the money be put to better use elsewhere like paying the employees so they dont keep going on strike or leaving?

I'm going to be fair and just say the only valid criticism I have and see is they cgi the dwarfs instead of using actors with dwarfism.
