@PortableModularRailroads I've thought about something like this for awhile. Though you have put it in to practice. One suggestion though, would be to put some wax paper between separation breaks when adding scenery, or you want something removable. Two; for the track. It needs it's own platform. Perhaps styrene sheet topped by cork roadbed. Cut to conform. There is also very thin plywood (though it may bow. Still if used sparingly. Maybe), There are track spikes, which are removable.
My suggestion would be to use the first layer as a template for the one.
Yes I get it, you just clamp the unglued pieces to the next layer right?
Yep, that will leave you with larger pieces of foam to use for inclines or low level hills
Maybe cut layers 2 and 3 at the same time. I haven't tried this so it may sound easier than it is to actually do it. Nice work, nonetheless.
Thanks, I think with clamps holding unglued peices together will work, did not have enough clamps. I appreciate it!
I like this system. But alot of rail joints. If I am seeing into the future.
Yes, but i will not glue the track to rhe sub roadbed. Trying to come up with a detachable roadbed for normal track. Ant suggestions?

Why are you switching to white foam board for the scenery?
Good question, it is a little thinner in height and it's "cheaper". But you can use the pink. Thanks for the comment!! PMR
You can get the pink as thin as 1/2" for a good price
why are you wearing a mask?
