Trying to get Woodster forward and off my leg is not an easy task / Hacking & chatting

- Welcome back guys! We're taking Mr Woodster out for a little 'schooling' hack today (basically, a hack with a purpose). My goal was to get him a bit more forward going and off my leg, and to also just get him responding to my leg a bit more confidently for those upward transitions. Downward transitions are more his specialty 😂
He is a naturally backward thinking horse and it's always been a challenge getting him to respond to a quiet leg aid, but we seem to have come up with a little trick by the end of this ride and even if it might sound a bit daft, I'm going to roll with it and see if we can improve our transitions.

I miss riding a horse & the sound of the hooves on the road. This was nice to watch.
i still hate vlogging infront of people 😂 my sister face times me a lot, so i now try to imagine that its her that im talking to when i vlog to make me feel less weird 🤣
Thats a good idea! Although, I hate talking on the phone infront of people too, not sure that will help me 😂

Good luck in your dressage test we have one on 15 Dec and it’s Christmas fancy dress, it’s the only test I can remember I really struggle in remembering them that’s what put me off from doing it even with a caller but I think this one is gunna be just fine, make sure you film it would love to watch 🥰😁🐴xx
Oooh that's exciting, good luck!!! When you say 'fancy dress' .... do you mean like kids gymkhana kind of fancy dress? Because I really wish they did more stuff like that for adults. We like to cover our ponies in tinsel and wear silly costumes too ❤️
@ so rider has to dress up in Christmas outfits and the horse does as well, we did a jumping event where we all had to dress up so yeah kids and all the adults can have a bit of fun, I love living the inner youngster in me even though I’m 50 and I’m really struggling to get on them now, it’s so annoying when I’ve had horses all my life and enjoying that our local events put such things on it’s great 🥰😁❤️xx
My cob is so bad! She will refuse to go anywhere she doesn’t want to and will back up and just stop and no matter how much leg I give or crop she does not move , please help!!!
That sounds more like napping than just being dead to the leg. Is she any better going out with company? And have you made sure there is nothing wrong with her? No pain or discomfort?
@@raversmead there is nothing wrong with her she has just had a vet check , she has always been lazy , it’s nothing about trust as we are besties on the ground!
