Thanks for sharing Ryan, kanchanaburi is definitely a town with a lot going for it and of course you would have seen a lot of changes since you were there but at the same time I'm sure it still felt very familiar. Otis is a very well behaved child indeed and full credit for that goes to you and Damo and probably too some extent Damos mum who I'm sure gets involved a fair bit with the kids. Enjoy the trip mate, every day is another memory for you and Otis. Stay safe mate
I had my first son in my teens. I know the night he was conceived. My mission was to spend as much time as possible with him. I knew his stay at home mom was tired so I'll take him to the park afterbirth finish work to give his mom some free time. After 3 months of his birth his mom changed. My son said dada at 1 month old. Somehow his mom got angry at my son and I bonding. She left me took the kid and I never saw him again until 13 yrs later. I'm the going to give the whole story. I said all of that just to say, I miss being an active father in my son's life. Great job sir.
Thank you for the amazing experiences that will last a lifetime. Even the little things, such as finding a little dive to eat lunch, or going hunting for shells on the beach every night are the memories that will stay with us for our lives. As acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance. Your own thoughts are so perfect that made me value and respect your opinion too.
The essence of the area travels thru the screen. Otis puts the being into human. Rather than most in the West who operate from the doing. He is a wonderful example of what draws me to Thailand as his nature speaks to the Buddha faith that underlies. Thank you for giving me another option to retire at. A female veteran with a service connected injury it seems like it would be so good for my soul and pocketbook. And thank you for your intuitive and natural gift in creating such rich video content, appreciatively, 🙏
It's wonderful that you can do trips like this and take Otis, and it is also something all of you can watch 40 years from now. Both you and Damo seem to have peaceful natures. It's easy to see where Otis gets it. He's a very sweet boy.
Your son seems to be a real sweetheart, I love your relationship with him. It’s from the heart, and very real. It’s just nice to be a part of it. Thank you for the adventure, , as usual
Excellent stuff mate. Yes, I loved having the boys with me and doing things together. I was lucky enough to have 6 years off work, when the boys were born. Cannot remember all the things we did but I remember being happy and other people remember me that way also. Now I'm 70 and a cranky old bugger. 🤭🙈👍❤️😇
Interesting to hear your thoughts on Kanchanaburi. 10 years ago when I came here I did not especially like it. Now I chose this place as one of the places I stay. VERY good choice especially as I am a golfer. Ahahaha. And yes. It's recently growing FAST. New Motorway open in the weekends creating even a traffic jam especially in the Robinson crossing at times.
There’re a few places there on the nearby lakes that have floating accommodation. Not the tourist ones but those for locals with water slides, canoes, bouncing castles and all sorts of watersports plus quality Thai food all at reasonable rates. Rarely see a foreigner and usually advertised only in Thai as they’re targetting local parents with kids of course but heaps of fun. Highly recommend if you live in Thailand and have kids.
The riverside cafe is very attractive with the beautiful wood tables similar to yours at home, the outdoor sitting areas very nice as well. Bravo tis, he sees the size and opulence of the restaurant as it has 4 air conditioners. He likely understands that there is a big cost to run them as well.... Yes we are as you are grateful you spend a lot of time with family at home, and while vacationing as well....and get some vlogs in for the memories. Peace and Love Y'all
I stayed by the river there for a few days and really liked the place. I loved watching the bats on the river in the evening and the resident monitor lizard. I also found all the different farm crops being grown there very interesting. Not just the usual rice. Train ride from Bangkok was very cheap.
Agreed, this is a great place to retire. Thailand has an unusual amount of quality retirement cities, I think. When you stated the distance in relation to Bangkok and the beach - I feel the same about my near-future retirement city, Korat.
I’m coming to Thailand, 3 days in Bangkok, then off to Kanchanburi for a the weekend then to Lopburi for the rest of the time. Thanks for showing me some places to check out there.
Kanchamaburi is my favourite place in Thailand as soon as I land from uk I get a taxi there and spend 3 or 4 nights there and go to the WW2 grave yards the bridge hell fire pass and erawan every time I go
More important to spend time with Otis while he still young important memories for you both to remember in the future . I miss out on this with my dad he was working two jobs to keep a roof over our heads you never get those times back now at 71 I look back my dad and me miss out . Always interesting and informative and entertaining.
Loviing your journey. Punthai do a membership card. It's not much to buy it. But the discounts are fantastic. I have already drunk the cost of the membership in discounts and got points.
if you ever want to jam and improvise for the hell of it when I get out there, lemme know. I'll find a decent guitar and amp and you can grab the sax and we can butcher tunes into the moonlight lol.
I'm glad we didn't have to see you munching food ,like every other vlogger out there😅 I would say your sons chilled behaviour is the thai in him, and natural fresh food's and obviously having his parents around, alot of wise words you speak on this one .
Wouldn't want to drop your wallet, keys, phone, child in the water under that table! Definitely non compliant in the west. Does look like great spot tho.
Hello Tis, I’m enjoying seeing you bonding with your dad.👌🏾🫶🏻 Ryan, there’s no way you making me put my feet in that water…is that not the same river with the monitor lizard?😱😳🐊 🇬🇧

Looks great there, as always. Very nice atmosphere in Kanchanaburi. Wouldn't mind settling there myself. One day!
Another great video you and Damo have lovely kids you should be very proud of them they are a credit to you both❤
Otis is awesome! Like an old soul.

Your both great Parents
Had my wedding breakfast at Tongkan Cafe on the river. It was incredible value and food was amazing. Thanks for bringing back great memories.

Nice riverside cafe beautiful view
I only visited Kanchanaburi for a day last year, but its definitely a very special place id like to spend more time on future visits to Thailand.
Nice Drone Aerial Shots of a beautiful place.
Full marks for pronouncing the bridge name properly
My absolute favorite non-beach town, lovely street, cool shops, great food. Don't forget to stop in at Bells Pizza!!!
Good timing, I am actually going there in a few weeks for the first time. Looking forward to seeing a new area. Cheers.
Great place Ryan plenty of golf courses in close proximity me and a couple of my friends spend a 2/3 nights there every year

I just spent couples days during this weekend, it is fine place and worth considering.
I have decided to give this location a go next year. Your journey with tis. Has made it very inviting. Thanks Ryan for you content.

As usual, a very interesting vlog. Great to see you and Otis spending time together.
I lived in expats Kanchanaburi from 1992 - 2003. I was working, but in those days, not ,many expats were there.
I’m coming to Thailand, 3 days in Bangkok, then off to Kanchanburi for a the weekend then to Lopburi for the rest of the time. Thanks for showing me some places to check out there.
I live near the beach in the province of Rayong and love it here.
Your son is such a well behaved boy with an amazing smile. You should be so proud of him 😊
“It’s enough“ - wise 😊
Rice with egg. A staple meal of Thai kids everywhere. My son is now 21 and its still his go to meal of choice at least 2 to 3 times a week.
I used to live there. I was a teacher at Daruna.
im suprised Otis dosnt want the same style hat as dad.
Was Otis carrying an Optimus Prime toy? Transformers are a fun toy!
Kanchamaburi is my favourite place in Thailand as soon as I land from uk I get a taxi there and spend 3 or 4 nights there and go to the WW2 grave yards the bridge hell fire pass and erawan every time I go
I love kanchanaburi, in a few years the high speed rail line will change it forever not sure for the good.

The POW cemetery has some powerful mojo. A lot of hard men lie restlessly there.
Its one of the most risky locations in the country
Risky?
It is Kanchanaburi, not Kancharaburi. 5555555
not even its pronounced ganjanaburi in thai
I say kan - chan - aburi. He says it wrong. Been there 5 times over 20 years. He lived there surely he knows how to say kanchanaburi !!😂
❤👍🏻Thought it was a village, but love by the river. Hopefully in good health 2025 & will visit there. ❤🙏🏻💞💞
Enjoyed it there, but in March it's soooo hot n sticky
Loviing your journey. Punthai do a membership card. It's not much to buy it. But the discounts are fantastic. I have already drunk the cost of the membership in discounts and got points.
Thanks for this video! Place looks great. How about reliable Internet? I depend on that for my remote work.
Internet is reliable
Wouldn’t discount moving there for sure from busy noisy Bangkok ..
if you ever want to jam and improvise for the hell of it when I get out there, lemme know. I'll find a decent guitar and amp and you can grab the sax and we can butcher tunes into the moonlight lol.
You are a nice guy.. for a Pom....
