    I’m new to lithops, so I love that you identify each of the plants you water. I’m having a hard time identifying mine because they look so similar.

      Exactly, some species just look the same if you take some cultivars, for example julii and hallii, they just look the same in some varieties

    Where do you buy your lithops? I'm looking for unique varieties. The link you provided only had 2 options. I love your dedication to your lithops, and I love how you get your daughter involved. I think if we can instill empathy and caring in our children for plants, then hopefully, that will translate to empathy and caring for people.

    Fantastic video and relaxing to watch, loved seeing all the names of your Lithops, they look amazing and so healthy, I think I'm definitely going to move most of my Lithops under my grow lights now (only have 2 Lithops under my grow lights currently) I'll have to rearrange my plants to fit in the rest! 😄 if you are getting amazing compact growth with just grow lights that's great. 👍🏻😁🌵🌵🌵

    Can you tell me how many LUX or Foot-candles of light reaches the tops of your lithops? I have some very intense grow lights that are great for echeveria but have burned crassula so I have to move them closer or further away depending on the plant.

    How do you water multiple Lithops that are planted together?
    Some could be splitting and some of them thirsty.......
    I ordered some Lithops online and are on the way I plan to plant them together in 10/15per pot but don't know how to water when their at different stages of growth.

    I have a few questions. Do you grow from seeds? If so, how do you hard in the seedlings? Also, how do you know when they are ready to be watered?

      I've never really tried to grow them from seeds because it will take a long time and I'm not that patient lol. The best time to water Lithops is when they are wrinkled ;)

    That's just how I watered my African Violets, which I grew in Vermiculite. And now it's how I water my Orchid. (I could tell when the Violets needed to be watered because they weighed almost nothing. I can tell when my Orchid needs water because it's in a clear plastic pot and the roots turn from green to (almost) gray.) Houseplants in dirt I overwater and kill.

    Your collection is just so amazing!! You inspired me to start growing lithops. How did you start your plants? Seeds or you bought them as is? Please let me know the best place to buy seeds. I haven’t seen any lithos plants here in Calgary.

      Lithops which are splitting need to and are able to take the moisture from the dying leaves so they don't require water until the old leaves are dead/crispy. But in some situations they might do if the plant is unwell or out of sync with the growing cycle.

      It depends where you live; the weather in winter and what the lithops look like and what cycle stage they are at.

      I dont know what the weather in Singapore be like.. is it humid? Like I mentioned high humidity and over-water are not ideal for lithops :)

      @@thehiddenflour6341 Yeah it can get humid 60-90% humidity depending on the time of day. I would think that lithops can survive better indoors if we control the conditions. Andy, if you have any success please let me know too, im so interested in getting some lithops myself too so im trying to prepare for it as much as possible 🤣

    I'm interested in starting with Lithops which drew me to your video. I love your set up tray and pots. I presently work with Cactus Bonsai and African Violets. Trouble Finding lithops locally, wondering if should also start some seed, would appreciate any tips on were to adopt a starter set of 6 or 7 different varietals... I'm certain to circle back for iddentification purposes. Any suggested Lithops literature?

      Hi, I think using only sand will be too heavy and too wet for the plants. Maybe add some pumice or Japanese substrates to make soil more airy.

      Those substrates I use already have some nutrients and I also use plant vitalizer :)
