WOW, ive just this year gotten interested in cycle racing. About how much $$$ or euros does it take one of these teams to operate for a season? Thanks for the videos.
What fun. Thanks. I wish we'd been able to see inside mechanics' and kitchen trucks. I think those would have been my favorites (American for "favourites," BTW), but I did enjoy seeing all the rest.
My favorite thing in the video was the compartmentalized zippered kit bag! Are these available to the public somewhere? I didn’t see one on Castelli’s website. Perhaps GCN should add these to their “store”.
in 2004, Giant-Shimano brought 9 riders, 3 coaches, 1 general manager, 1 cook, 1 press officer, 5 soignerus, 3 mechanics and 3 physicians to the Tour de France ...
Where is the "marginal gains" vehicle that stores the memory foam mattress covers? They have already changed from the sky blue colored musette bag to a neon yellow version. My favorite vehicle is the mechanics truck.
Being a support staff at some amateur race I would say it is not fun at all and would rather be in the bike. There's lot of preparation and then long waiting. After the pelaton went pass and you got to chase it back and remember they are going at 40+km/h and you had to do 80+km/h on a treacherous mountain road.
Love videos like this. It is quite the armada which team Sky have... got to love both the mechanics truck and the team cars... its where the magic happens! I would never have thought that there would have been quite so many vehicles for just one team... I am guessing that team sky is definately the exception and not the rule!! Keep em coming Cannings!
One car for podiums etc where amongst other things riders need to do a "medical control"? Wonder if that is the correct term for a anti doping control? Is it to scary to say it?
no mention of the helicopter? obviously it seems a bit excessive but a) great to see they try to cater to all the rider's needs and b) considering they're transporting a massive team (riders + support staff) for 3 weeks, it makes a bit more sense. would be curious to know how their setup differs at the grand tours v shorter stage races v classics ...
Let us know what your favourite vehicle is from the fleet👇

Global Cycling Network, Mechanics’ Truck! The business end of everything!
Hmm they dont use the racehub, as they did on the Vuelta last year?
Any team that sees John heading their way had better start nailing everything down fast !!
What fun. Thanks. I wish we'd been able to see inside mechanics' and kitchen trucks. I think those would have been my favorites (American for "favourites," BTW), but I did enjoy seeing all the rest.
Fascinating look at the support vehicles had no idea it was this extensive. Great job Jon.
Steve Hambley thanks
My favourite vehicle? The bicycle of course!
BETTER EQUIPED THAN MY FLAT!
Geoff Govey better equipped than most 5 star hotel
Harry Enfield........loadsa money !!!!!!!!
The Team Sky budget is crazy, this is just over the top, now go and do a tour of FDJ or AG2r team bus and see the difference in sheer volume!!
FDJ and AG2r combined probably have the same amount of vehicles as Sky, If not less :D
Actually Team Sky if head & shoulders above everyone else although UAE is close
"... the jacket warms up. How cool is that?" Well, it's not cool. Not cool at all.
😂
its the polar opossit.
I couldn't spot that heated jacket under the GCN jacket at all. Well snaffled.
Thanks Jon! Crazy cool to see what sort of support team sky has... individual washer and dryer? Mind blowing!
My favorite thing in the video was the compartmentalized zippered kit bag! Are these available to the public somewhere? I didn’t see one on Castelli’s website.
Perhaps GCN should add these to their “store”.
Did you found those bags??
You forgot the team sky helicopter!
Jon's taking over Matt's former role of stealing stuff from world tour team vehicles. Matt must have a whole trunk full of team caps.
The money, christ.
That kind of thing
fitzy4578 basically .....
Panini Mexico '86! High five Jon!
nishkra ✋
“Because I’m not very good at zipping things together.” Love it! Keep ‘em coming.
Brent I do my best.
notice how each section was labelled with what was inside.
You do well Jon. Thanks for fueling my cycling inspiration
Sneaky sneaky Jon
07:15 - Jon it's a socket not a plug !!! Either way really interesting review of a massive fleet
Brilliant John, I would get excited about all that kit too! Chapeau
richard aydon thanks
wow! fantastic this
brings out the inner anorak in all of us!😀
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great now I know what I need to take on holiday - I always forget the "Wi-Fi" Dryer ...
Can the public get those race guide books and if so where from?
what about the big RV/Motorhome thingy in the reflection of the bus at 1:40? Or is it just a lorry? Looks quite expensive!
I am missing the two floor truck they brought with them to the Tour de France
Now that's one heck of a fleet!
We thought so!
Global Cycling Network 😄👍
How many staff do they bring on a GT?
in 2004, Giant-Shimano brought 9 riders, 3 coaches, 1 general manager, 1 cook, 1 press officer, 5 soignerus, 3 mechanics and 3 physicians to the Tour de France ...
ruwiki so probably a quarter of what team Sky bring now?
C Oliver yes, probably HAHA
and that's 14 years ago so imagine today! Sky has a bodyguard for this year's Tour as well! My guess would be at least 30-35 people
My favourite GCN presenter
Team Sky using Unior Torq Wrench instead of Shimano PRO... I don't think we should have seen that :D
I've seen overkill, but this is next level. Amazingly the vials of dope would fit inside a pencil case...
Good job cycling in eco friendly with all those vehicles to follow them around!
Where is the "marginal gains" vehicle that stores the memory foam mattress covers? They have already changed from the sky blue colored musette bag to a neon yellow version. My favorite vehicle is the mechanics truck.
How do the teams make sure that nobody is listening to their team radio? Is there anything to stop other teams from eavesdropping?
Is that a mystery package in the corner of the boot there?
where can i buy that heated jacket
sooo interesting!!!
I'm wondering why you didnt show us the bus and place where all bottles is stored?
As a rider - the podium van would be what I would be aiming to be in the most.
This is absolutely nuts!!!!
How many coaches to teams like Sky have? I assume they have at least two to cater for multiple races at the same time
You should do a section on how the team cars bike racks are made.
How much do you reckon the team bus costs?
Would like to see the difference between Sky and for example a sunweb. Does every team have such an extensive fleet?
I wonder what the total Road tax cost is for the fleet??
One big truck with Ventolin(Salbutamolum) allways with SKY !
Team Sky. The best team money can buy.
Being a support staff at some amateur race I would say it is not fun at all and would rather be in the bike. There's lot of preparation and then long waiting. After the pelaton went pass and you got to chase it back and remember they are going at 40+km/h and you had to do 80+km/h on a treacherous mountain road.
i want one of those heated jackets....castelli take my $$!!!
You forgot the extra $ I don't tihnk $$ will do it!
All decoys. How could you possibly find the dope with so many motors.
All to the front..all to the front. ..attack attack...or something like that..I like..good video😊
Cheers John, glad you enjoyed the video!
Very interesting video! :)
MrDaveCee Thanks!
One clothes washer for each team member that’s nuts. Does Team Sky bring a generator to power all that stuff?
Uma equipe com padrões de F 1. Top!!
Would like to know where the parts for electric motors are stored.
Do all teams have that amount of cars?
Where is the F1 styled paddock that sky brought to the Vuelta last year
Team Sky can I live in your fleet?
>One Love<
-A
This is so cool, awesome and fascinating!
My favourite vehicle from the fleet is Ford Mondeo! Hats off to Jon and Team Sky! #GoTeamSky
Thanks Omaris!
No problem! (^_^)v
Continuity Jon 😂😂
How many times can he say basically! I turned it into a drinking game - it was great!
The washer and dryer wi/fi , and the kitchen vehicle
Truly impressive!
We thought so!
WHY does the sky fleet have GERMAN license plates?
Can some one help me? :]
Irish Wristwatch because Ford’s headquarters are in Cologne, and running sponsorship programmes is usually a head office responsibility.
Another great tour Jon
Are they really putting castelli clothes in the dryer?!?!
Can you swipe a panini calendar for my kid?!He has the soccer one
I wonder which one they keep the Salbutamol in?
boring
Your funny
maybe you'll like cycling one day.. and maybe you'll post something original .good luck
Mark Evasion i do like cycling and if all you fanboys can come up with is boring and un-original then it shows I'm right
Individual washer/dryers with WIFI? That's put the opposition in a spin.
How long will SKY be competing if sold to Disney or Fox?
Just wondering where's the car for the lawyers?
You forgot to show the fridge where the performance enhancers are kept
I would like to know if Tom is in negotiations with team sky as he clearly gave the win to Chris
5 Stars Service.... from (Me) MTB Riders Perspective...
Since Jon did this, Sky and Froome changed their luck... Did the presence of Jon put an end to the GCN Curse?
Pablo Traine yes
INEOS GRENADIERS!!!!
Super
Bizarre! 😳
They should sell those jackets to the public, would definitely buy one of them!
hundreds of brands make them.. they've been around for years lol
Sseparate special washing machine for Vroom - to train his magic RPM!
I thought they had a Mustang as well???
Too bad Mondeo Estates aren't sold in Canada.
Come on froomey! We still believe in you! You might not be able to do it in the Giro, but you'll do it in the tour!
he can't do it now that he's on intensive drug watch
I'm a froome fan
Laura Laura : might need to rethink that comment....
Neil MacPherson 😅😅😅😅😃
Laura Laura looool
At least one FBI looking van keeping a look out for anti doping officials.
What happens to the team buses and custom lorries when they are replaced. Could you do a video on this?
Where is SKY team doctors !! please interview them next time. regarding the TEU'S applications for the team. pleasE!!!!!
Sky is not cycloteam, But motorteam😂
yes, Id love to see a tour of these so called motor homes
One car for podiums etc where amongst other things riders need to do a "medical control"? Wonder if that is the correct term for a anti doping control? Is it to scary to say it?
Team Sky seems like the Patriots of cycling. Lots of extra doo-dads
And lots of deflating.
6:20 hahahah :-D transfusion, epo, etc. :-)
you made yourself laugh, at least
Nice I want to ask you how to increase height by cycling I have not enough height to ride road bike.
Missed the most important part of the team car - the horns!
How could Jon forget!?
no mention of the helicopter? obviously it seems a bit excessive but a) great to see they try to cater to all the rider's needs and b) considering they're transporting a massive team (riders + support staff) for 3 weeks, it makes a bit more sense. would be curious to know how their setup differs at the grand tours v shorter stage races v classics ...
I wonder what would happen if the teams go unsupported. Maybe just try that for 1 stage.
How trashed are those team cars at the end of a season? You should do a tour of one at the end of a season to see how wrecked they are!
And I thought this is Team Sky's final year?
8:55 beLIEve, Jon suddenly sounds like Trump 😂
Oh please bring back Matt
Overkill?
Ewan Shard you can never be too prepared.
Jon was later seen in a cafe bathroom doing mirror selfies in only a chamois and posting to Instagram with #lovingFroomesChamois
Grant Henderson was I?!
Jon Cannings I blame the Peroni 🤣
did u not miss the tech truck ?
we want to see the bikes and machanic space also inside the kitchen
In my language it is called "paishacha maaz"
It means money brats
What sort of thing?
