Manchester United On The Brink Of Signing Patrick Dorgu. Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho Future

- Опубліковано 6 лют 2025
- Rio gives his verdict on potential signing Patrick Dorgu from Lecce. The 20-year-old from Denmark looks set to join up with United this weekend, if reports are to be believed. With a potential £30m price tag, Rio analyses the strengths of the Dane's game, and how he might fit in to Ruben Amorim's system at Old Trafford.
He also discusses Kobbie Mainoo's best position, and if that number ten role unlocks him even further. Rio gives a passionate view on the current state of the Financial Fair Play and PSR rules, as well as his opinion on the futures of Garnacho, Mainoo and Bayern's Mathys Tel.
Can Dorgu make an instant impact at United? Or is this a signing that reds fans will have to be a bit more patient with?
Let us know what you think of the potential newest man through the door at Old Trafford. And would you hold on to Kobbie and Garnacho? Rather than selling them for pure profit.

Sekou Kone seriously caught the eye against Oldham the other night.
Rio you forgot Diallo in that list of young players. It's exciting to see United returning to their roots of developing young talent into stars.
he'ss 22. Young is 21 and under
He has prove himself no longer young
@@samuelpromise80922 is still young when you’ve got most guys playing up to 37 38 years old. The cut off is only 21 for the award… you people will call Cole palmer, pedri, camavinga, fati all young but not amad and he’s the same age as these players lool
Diallo plays with the maturity of a 30 year old. He might be our most ball-secure player
Rashford?
Garnacho is a weapon worth keeping and selling him will be a big mistake
No.😊
Disagree if u can get 60 mil cash in he’s not that good impact player at best
If he wants to leave let him
Exactly
I agree don't sell garnacho hes stats for he's age are 1 of the best we should be building the team around garnacho, kobie, yoro, dorgu ect
Love the content Rio 🇿🇦🤗
Rio, been supporting 56 years. This squad has been the ones with least heart! Rashford needs to go, toxic I think In the dressing room. He has left his team mates down.
I agree 100%, we need young players coming through. It's a pity the senior players are not in the same calibre when you joined. Young players are carrying the team.
Look like Quenda could be joining him in the summer today with Diego Leon
I think he goes straight into the team
Rio’s content is 🔥
We don't need another youngster no. 9. We need an established one, one who gives you at least 20-25 goals a season regularly, to take the pressure off Hojlund and Zirkzee, and also for them to observe and learn from. They may have been regular starters at Atalanta but they're not at the level required of a starting no. 9 at United. Both were bought not to start games right away but circumstances made it such and now both are losing their self-confidence in double quick time.
Hojlund
Garnacho
Mainoo
Collyer
Kone
Diallo
Yoro
Dorgu
Heaven
Chido
Amas
Looks good ...
Rio Rio Rio! - I love the way you say what you mean and mean what you say. - Keeping the standards high always, never accepting mediocracy... It gives me hope we can come again.
Luke Shaw needs to get shipped out as well, it doesn’t matter if you are as good as Messi if you only play 5 games a season
Rio please take time out of your day to enjoy a good chuckle at Tel for turning down Spurs 😂😂😂😂😂. The burn of him rather wanting to sit on the bench for Bayern or wanting to move to United, my laughter goes out to all Spurs fans 😂
I watch Henry talks football. His meltdowns had me chuckling. But when he said Tel refused Spurs I was laughing 😂. Levy probably offered a 30 year sentence with no loan/buy option. (No parole) 😂Harry Kane had to fight his way out of the club😂 when you sign for spurs you don’t leave
Yes we do have some else that does that, his name is Amad rio. He’s the most direct player in the squad running at defenders.
What about the Paraguay Diego Leon
Might play in Academy like Obi Martin
He comes In This summer to join reserve team and slowly progress him through…
Left side is complete for the future. Leon and Dorgu will battle and rotate.
He is really young, will be our lwb with dorgu rwb in 18 months
Good analysis.. Rio
Garnacho will make it work✌️
What I understand is that Manchester United will be getting younger and that's great and the experienced players will help them get experience 😏
no one gets time. hojlund was signed when he was 20 and we are already looking to sign a more senior player.
youth and energy is great but sometimes you need experienced players to play and to let the young guys breathe and come in and out of the team based on form, not necessity.
We should have signed him for 30-40m and already have a senior striker to teach him
Rio bravo! Let's wait n see..
Whatever happened to Anderson?
We should never be in a position that we even talk about selling our academy players, it’s what our club is built on
Rio I’ve been a fan since 1992 of Man Utd. Remember when we signed you. I’m sorry, I know you can’t say certain things about the squad. So I’ll say it. Luke Shaw is not good enough for the club. Constant injuries! He must be sold in the summer! Same goes for Casemiro, Erikkson, Rashford, Antony, Malacia and mount. I was confident that Mason would make a good impact this season, but he is injured again! Chelsea did us dirty with that one😂. It’s a shame, out of all those players I’ve mentioned I wanted mason to prove he is good enough, injuries are unfortunate, however, to be at the top level you can’t keep players in the squad that get injured all the time.
Come on Rio who taught Wazza how to be a number 9 🤣.Parting with the family silver sucks.Selling Garnacho and Kobbie is ''cuckoos nest''.revisited.😈
United are miles off the league. But are we? 1/2/3 season's on how many of these prospects could be 1st team regulars or atleat solid squad lads? Right now all have potential. If a few make it and thrive along with successful signings, suddenly the squad looks far stronger. It's all it's but potential.
For PSR with youth players would be good to introduce some mechanism where only 30/40% of a sale goes against the books or something like that. Would discourage selling them over other players. The road to hell is paved with good intentions though, so would need to tweak that percentage to not discourage clubs from having academies.
7:56 only starting to complain when PSR when it impacts his club......says it all about pundits
This push for Amorim to adapt is CRAZY. non of these players are good enough for him to adapt what he knows and does best for them. Garnacho is not Vinicius or Mbappe them players you adapt for. Not Man Utd current crop. They’re are professionals. They can learn
Don't forget the kid we've signed in Uruguay.
Van the man should have stayed with us to teach them
Can’t sell Garnacho!!! If they do, this club is finished!!
Deffo not Finnished at all if he gose
Man Utd executives should watch Rio's videos. They probably make better choices
Start a campaign with your fellows mate.
Get the ball rolling and get rid of PSR bullshit 💪
I'm trying to be optimistic but he's 18 doesn't win a lot of challenges. He need an experienced LWB LB
Good video Rio thanks.
P.S. The background of white tiles makes it look like you are sitting on a toilet :-)
Lindelof, Evans, Shaw, Malacia, Casemiro, Erickson, Mount and Antony needs to go to in the summer.
Either they are on the their last legs, way too inconsistent, are injury prone and simply not good enough. So after this clear out, we are left with
Onana, Baylinder, Dalot, Mazaroi, Maguire, Yoro, Martinez, De Light, Heaven, Dorgu, Amass, Mainoo, Ugarte, Collyer, Bruno,Garnacho, Amad, Zirkzee and Hojlund.
We need to buy 6-8 players in the summer to replace the outgoings. We have to trust in Amorim.
RED DEVIL 4 LIFE
Rio i need you to stop using the word "Adapt to players".... Ruben should not adapt to this trash players. they should adapt to Ruben's Ideas
I suspect if we sell Mainoo and Garnacho then Ratcliffe’s intention is to push for a Super League to increase revenue because we won’t be doing it by competing for trophies. The Glazers brought him in to cut the running costs of the club to the bone. Under his INEOS Sport vanity project Nice are on their seventh manager and Lassanne Sport have been relegated twice. He clearly wasn’t brought in for his football acumen.
@@larrysellers7891 i agree. Its bad news 4 us. Im general we as sipporters dont turn on d manager. Howevet d main stream media will do their bit to make life hard for Amorim. I really like Amorim. But of course he needs backing from d owners.
That’s why berrada and co were brought in, to handle the football side of things. None of what you’ve said has any basis in reality, it’s all baseless speculation. Were having to make cuts and raise prices/selling players because we’ve been run into the ground for over 10 years and have been notoriously bad at selling players whilst paying over the odds for player brought in on massive wages. The issue is people like yourself live in a fantasy land where you believe magic wands exist and in reality they don’t.
@@ItsSVO None of what I said is based in reality? So Nice aren’t on their seventh manager under INEOS? Lassanne Sport haven’t been relegated twice since they took over? There’s a reason why a man that ostensibly came in to take over “football operations” sacked 250 non footballing staff straight off the bat. Many more have been let go since but as they were contracted through outside companies it hasn’t been reported. Next he’s cutting funding for the Foundation and forcing them to lay people off. None of these people came under the remit of ‘football operations’
Whatever you think of the Glazers they aren’t wet behind the ears. They didn’t look at INEOS’s abysmal track record in sport and think, “This is the man to revive the club’s fortunes!” They looked at INEOS’s track record in petrochemicals of redundancies, enforced pay cuts and cuts to pensions on the threat of the plants being shut down and moved abroad if staff didn’t comply. They looked at how he acquired and cut companies to the bone to increase shareholder profits. They did their research on who Jim Ratcliffe is and what he’s about. You clearly haven’t.
You’ve allowed yourself to be blinded by the PR guff of the “local United fan done good” (A Chelsea fan who used his money to campaign for a Knighthood whilst being a tax exile). This man will bury us, he’s a very dangerous mix of incompetence and immorality. That’s why ‘Best in Class’ Dan Ashworth left the club shortly after putting his foot through the door.
@ comparing United to nice is ridiculous because they’re two different clubs. INEOS have put in proper footballing people and the example you’ve provided are not at United.
Your whole analysis is binary thinking, the tool of somebody who lacks critical thinking. If you’re going to claim United are being run a certain way you have to provide examples of INEOS at United, not nice.
Also, no I haven’t I don’t particularly like Jim ratcliffe but I’m also capable of intelligent and rational reasoning and can see the things he’s done so far are necessary evils because of how poorly run the club has been for years. Dan ashworth left the club because he wasn’t a good fit with Berrada and Wilcox, that’s shows competence in fixing an issue immediately, not incompetence. INEOS haven’t been perfect but they’ve acted quickly to resolve things when they can. I don’t care who ratcliffe does and doesn’t support. it’s this kind of irrational thought that I don’t indulge in. Alex Ferguson supports rangers, did that affect his managerial competency at United? According to your “logic” it should’ve and didn’t because it’s an incredibly stupid thought process. You’re too emotional to think straight, that’s clear.
@@larrysellers7891Just making your own happiness and twisting truths to suit your far-fetched narrative. Let's start with FC Lausanne-Sport. You're neglecting to say when Ineos took them over, they were in administration, and since the takeover, they've built them a new stadium, training ground, and youth setup. You're right about relegation, but I think it was only once, but I might be mistaken on that, but regardless, you're ignoring the fact it's a 12-team league with a 6-place playoff for relegation, so it's much easier to get relegated; they are currently in 3rd, I believe. Move on to Nice; they were never going to compete with PSG without having a fluke season. Inoes said they want the Champions League within 5 years. They've missed out on goal difference and by a point another year. It was only last season that was a disaster, and they are currently in 4th this season, so they could actually achieve that goal. Yes, they've been trigger happy with managers (it's 6, btw; that 1 less makes a difference 😉), but that's hardly a rarity in football. With regards to United, you can blame PSR and the Glazers incompetence for the staff cuts. United had an overinflated workforce, the second biggest behind Madrid in world football, and over 400 more employees than our closest rival in the Premier League. From a business perspective, it just makes sense. Regarding the Super League for the foreseeable future, it's done and most likely forever. It was a legal and PR disaster, which will only be worse the second time around. You're trying to paint SJR as some sort of evil capitalist overlord, and in many ways you would be right, but with United it's just not the case. He will never see a return on the money he's already put in. This isn't about profit; this is more about a legacy, or dare I say it, a vanity project.
Our legend
Players prefer to come to barcelona or German clubs because that's where the young players can get minutes
With Leon and Dorgu we got the left side fixed for years to come. They will battle and rotate.
this dorgu was bought for £150 000 by leece who is only known for selling dorgu to man u for 29 million hope the hype is real
Rio all due respect, your outlook on selling home grown players for PSR purposes is one dimensional. You are taking the historical & emotional approach with the class of 92. The fact is the class of 92 were good enough to play for Man Utd - hence the saying ‘if you’re good enough you are old enough’. If you are going to argue your point, then you also need to look at all the young players Man Utd have sold throughout the Fergie years that made a career for themselves elsewhere, otherwise what would they be doing if they were still at United? And this is what City & Chelsea have been doing for the past 10/15 years now.
One rule does not apply the same for every case.
Bar giggs most of the class of the 92 didn’t really start to get starts and a lot of minutes until they were 21. At 21 David Beckham had 20 games played at 20 Garnacho has 100
malacia on loan to Benfica just seen it on Portuguese news
United should be looking at fast athletic players like forest and Bournemouth have. Semenyo, Hudson odoi etc
Rasmus should improve he is not giving for real
Left back wont solve the goal scoring issue. They need a striker/forward. At least two forward coz the option they got just sucks
Dorgu's not a LB. Try again.
@ wow so smart. Figure out the missing word, you hole.
We don't create enough chances for any striker, mainly because we are too narrow without proper wingbacks. The wingbacks, especially on the left, are more important at the moment.
@@Key-j5o valid point, though you wont be thinking about it if u have players like Isak or cunha
Please don’t forget Veron
Luke shaw ain’t playing wingback in Amorim system.. he will be playing lcb
He will be gone in the summer
PSR sucks mahn😤
Rashford is United’s future star. He’s young, give him enough time.
Im Danish. Bedt of luck to Dorgu. Will we get Tel or us he off to Spurs?
Hi
He's turned down Spurs Fabrizio
How is Luke Shaw even still on the books at the club? The toxic culture currently present at Man U is deeply rooted by allowing this kinda thing to play out. It won’t change until you get rid of the old guard
Enjoy Rio analysis. Just speaks logical common sense. Unlike talksport!
Once we get rid of Bruno. We can play Mainoo more often in that position with Ugarte just behind
i dont agree here on getting rid of PSR, we need PSR to put back some sense into the finances of english football clubs. What we need at united is to remove the glazers and the debt mountain.
Perhaps.
We need a proper striker the ones we have are useless
Kobbie and Erickson are more 10s than 6ers.
Rioooooo Time
Rashford should just be made to run laps until his his contract is up, keep him away from the team
Hey Rio you on retreat at a monastery 😂
Forgot to say rashford as a young talent 😂
I need your help fedi
Dorgu is on the bench tonight for leece
Dorgu wanted to stay today to play an important game vs Parma yet he has been on the bench the entire first half and may not even play!!!
Parma wanted him to stay
Sell him Wil yous all cop on
I love this craziness!! Man U my team!! Well sorry to say this but Garnacho is to weak in his legs!!! And that's his weak point!! Face it.
united
Yeah but can he actually play football cos you keep singing players that can’t most prob never seen the dude kick a ball
Always watching Lecce
Amorim should play Garnacho as striker
Wow...easily 10-12 of these guys playing key min next season especially after some players gone in summer.
Yoro 19
Heaven 18
Kukonki 16
Mainoo 19
Kone 17
Obe Martin 16
Garnacho 20
Diego Leon 17
Dorgu 20
Collyer 21
Amass 17
Amad 22
Hojilund 21
Zirkzee 23
Dan Gore 20
He's in the straight jacket room again 😂
30 million Euro and not pounds
Tel has rejected Spurs 😅 Now lets get Rashy moved on, get a goal scorer in and play Zirks as a 10.
Yh oo 😂😂😂😂
Tel has scored how many this season? O
@@richyclubsport5155 how many minutes? 344
GGMU 🇮🇩
Do you think garnacho will be even as good as Gordon is ?
Hojlund and Zirkzee sell them no good players they cannot keep the balls losing all the time
Luke Shaw has been a joke for last couple years. How come he was absolutely not fit for his club but he was at the euro?
Lindelof is the same.
Can Manchester United really develop players to be real professional players? Rashford is a homemade product, just look how he behaves.
Garnacho has to stay. PERIOD.
Shaw must go!
Pogba back please
Garnacho is overrated for me... he has an arrogance that doesn't match his level. Mainoo is levels, a talent willing to work for the team.
stop doing these lone podcasts, boring af
United need Harry Kane
So Man Utd have Højlund the fake Haaland and now dorgu the fake doku. From mocking city to watching them climb above you to getting fake versions of there players. I love karma
Who told you Doku is better😂
Funny
@ nobody said anything about better (DOUBLE READ) if u have to Killy
Copying and pasting comments 😭😭
It's mad how you can go from united legend to interest bellend 😂 carnt stand this c4nt anymore 😂
